Recently rated #5 Brewer INTHEWORLD by . Enough said. But seriously, their sours are amazing, and you can drink with the smug satisfaction that most of what you’ll taste will soon run dry and never be reproduced. Make the pilgrimage already.

I live in Tillamook, but it was my daughter who came down from Seattle who brought me to this place! No real signage, but the wine barrels out front gave this treasure away. This was my first experience with sour beer & I thoughourly enjoyed it! That being said, the place was packed, but we did find a vacant barrel to sit at. Like others have said, there is no food, but a few people knew this in advance & brought their own take-out to enjoy with their beverages. We did purchase a ½ dozen bottles to go so my daughter could share with her friends when she returns home. I will defiently be back with some of my locals friends!

Simply some of the best beer in the country for unheard of prices. Always friendly staff, great bottle and draft list; in the middle of no where but so worth the trip.

Awesome beer! Great service! I had the Jose Hose which had the right amount of tartness!

Excellent, excellent wild ales. Stopped in our way back to Portland from Lincoln City. It’s in the middle of nowhere but it’s a great little tasting room. We tried several but I was most in love with the roseberry. Very busy for noon on a Sunday and not tons of seating, so get there early if you want a table. I would absolutely come back if I were in the area!

Cool brewery in a Tillamook! The space is really nice inside. For beers, they are on the sour end of the beer spectrum but they do have a guest tap of non sour beer. I had the Raz Bu which was a raspberry beer and I also tried the Blu Bu which was a blueberry beer. I really liked both of the beers. They also have a list of 22oz beers that aren’t on tap but only bottled that you can only have in the tap room. Overall, it was a good stop and I would stop by again!

Amazing sour beer, some of the best sour/tart beer I’ve ever had and they do it very well. I love the layout, the look, the service of this place. The location is odd but I cannot fault them for that. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of a full five, is the lack of air conditioning. I fully understand the cost would not have a monetary gain for the business, but comfort for customers that drive a hundred miles in and want to enjoy a beer on site. It’s a little hard in 85+ draftees with all the windows open. All that said, I will be back and just plan it on a cooler day. A recommendation I would make, is to have menus, of places that are near and deliver available, so that people can eat and drink at the same time.

If you’re looking for a good sour beer this is definitely worth a visit. The tasting room is located outside Tillamook. It’s a great place to enjoy a beer, stretch your legs and relax before continuing along the coast. On the«menu» you’ll find beers such as the Saison, a Wild Farmhouse Ale, a Bu variation, which is a Berliner Weisse Style Ale, and the Hose, a Gose Style Ale. They don’t serve food, and children and PETs are not allowed. But they’re always ready to pour you a nice, cool beer, in a beautiful setting.

I’m not usually a fan of sour beers but oh wow De Garde completely changed my perspective on them. The saison tasted almost like lemonade, the farm house ale was tart but almost sweet at the end, and my favorite if the day, the tableau rouge can only be described as the perfect beer for a warm sunny day. I can’t wait to come back.

So this bar from downtown to their new location next to the Air Museum south of Tillamook. It’s small and has a clean rustic feel to it. All the beers are sours so yay/boo for you if that’s your thing. If it is, then you will surely adore this little place; each one of us got a different beer and all enjoyed it. If you buy a bottle(a couple beers were offered only in bottles) they must open/pour it for you. Check out the open air barrels/vats on the way to the bathroom lol. Dogs are allowed on the patio.

Today was a beautiful sunny day in Tillamook to visit one of Oregon’s most sought-after breweries. De Garde Brewing has stuck to what they know, and that is wild yeast fermented Farmhouse style beers. They offer extremely limited distribution, but has made a name for itself in a few short years. Located in a business park(because apparently Tillamook has one…) behind the Air Museum, De Garde is quietly brewing some fantastic farmhouse and sour beers. Upon entering, a huge chalk board with the days’ offerings are presented. De Garde doesn’t have any kind of flagship beer, so whenever you go, the offerings are going to be new as everything is pretty small batch. This is also why they only have a select few bottles available for purchase to-go. There are a few guest taps as well to offer other styles they don’t make in-house. The tap room itself isn’t terribly large. They have multiple converted mini-fridges to dispense the sweet nectars behind the bar. There are a couple smaller rooms in the back if you’d like to sit down. On warmer days, they also have some outdoor seating available. You can get a 6oz pour of any beer for $ 3 or a full 12oz pour for $ 4. That 1 dollar is certainly worth it, however when trying 6 beers, we just got the half glasses of each tap offering. A cool feature of the brewery is that they keep a number of their bottles for on-site consumption only, again helping fuel the scarcity and increase desire for the beers. Above was the list available for the day. I’m looking forward to attending their next special release event at the end of April to get some of these fancy brews. As they are a tap room only, they don’t have any food options, just pretzels. When asked what the plans for the brewery were, they said a new location is definitely in the plans, however production is planning to stay at the current level. Maybe the new location will have some food options or more visibility for a food cart or something. Sounds like the owners are fairly busy, so a new location certainly isn’t happening any time soon. Thanks De Garde for a great afternoon. I’m really excited to see where this brewery goes in the coming years.
