Be prepared to feel an adrenaline rush when you walk through the front door. Well, I did at least! Great assortment of Batiks. Hubs found some great fabric bolts in the back room that were 50% off. Didn’t have a lot of time as we wanted to get to the cheese shops before they closed but if you are like me you will want to give yourself some time to peruse the rows of great fabrics.

Love this shop! Can’t call it small– which is is your first impression as it goes a lot further back than you think. Brimming with fabrics across the spectrum and ideas galore you will be sure find something(or more than) to suit your fancy

So I was in Oregon over Christmas. Sewing pj’s for the grandkids, broke my last needle. Other grandma went to Janes fabric patch to get me some, and didn’t have cash. To small a purchase to debit, so they let her have them. They saved my Christmas!!! I went back the next day and paid for them, but this is the kind of places that I love going to.

My fiancée, her parents, and I recently visited Jane’s Fabric Patch as part of the Shop Hop 101. The shop was very quaint and had a large selection of fabrics. The fabrics were well organized by color and print. My future in-laws bought some fabric for a quilt and a pattern for another quilt. We weren’t greeted upon entry and the staff was not very attentive, but there were several customers in the store and we did not think too much of it. After visiting quilt shops in Tillamook, Wheeler, and Cannon Beach, heading out onto the coast to walk on the beach, and eating at two restaurants, we arrived home(in my future in-laws’ car) and I realized that at some point, while pulling the keys to their car out of my pocket, my car key and house key must have been pulled out with them and fallen on the ground without me noticing. Car keys are expensive to replace, so the next day my fiancée kindly took the liberty of calling around to every location we visited, including Oregon State Parks, to locate them. The folks at the other quilt shops and restaurants said they were sorry and took down her name and number, telling her they would call if they keys turned up. She left a message for the office at the coast. When she called Jane’s Fabric Patch, the lady who answered the phone informed my fiancée that their shop isn’t a very good place to set down your keys. My fiancée told her that they weren’t set down, they fell out of a pocket. The lady responded that it’s not a good place for that either. She didn’t offer to take down a name or number or to keep an eye out for them. Luckily, a park ranger called us to tell us that someone found the keys at the coast, but I am left with a bad taste in my mouth about how this shop condescendingly handled our inquiry. I feel that this type of service experience is very uncharacteristic of a quilt shop, of a local business, and of any place in Oregon. We will not be returning.
