Kmart

The old saying is… if you don’t have any thing nice to say, don’t say any thing at all. Ahhh, no, in this case I will say some thing. First off is the parking lot, a true mess of papers, cups etc. flying around the lot. Getting to the lot is another story with all the holes that could sink a car. We were in the area and we needed a few things so visited, which we had not done in a long time. We did not want to drive to Wal Mart so this was the option. Big mistake. Kmart has slowly gone down hill. In the cart area, papers in the carts, on the floor, it was a mess. Do they have a cleaning crew any longer or do the people at the register clean the store. A few years ago there was the rumor that they were going out of business, well, they are still here. Don’t look at the fashions because they have none that are wearable. Men’s wear seemed to be more fashionable. While walking thru the area, there were no shoppers to speak of. Get it together Kmart or do what you said you were going to do, CLOSE. The register person was not friendly, no smiles, just a drag of a day for them I guess. More customer service training is needed and a cleaner store.

Worst customer service ever!!! Never going back there. The African American lady with short hair that helped me out was so rude never going back there! I can’t believe that they have this lady promoted to a manager their management must be a joke. I know stores like this and sadely this must one added to the list.

WOW! this Kmart is now a «fresh» K let me start off by saying as soon as you walk in you can just smell this store failing. From the I don’t give a crap employees to the cheap garbage that sits on the shelves. They took out several cashier lanes and still only have 3 open. This store is pure trash. Note to Kmart, GO AWAY… NOW.

I am not a Kmart fan. They are often dirty, unorganized, with undertrained staff. This Kmart is the exception. Clean, helpful staff (Marcia), well organized.

I shop here for two main reasons… the speedway gas coupons you get for cents off gallons and the shop your way rewards program is a great way for me to earn money all year to use towards Christmas shopping, however I generally dread shopping here. This Year in general I actually avoided shopping at Kmart rather than using them for all my shopping needs because they continue to go downhill in many areas. The clothing is either really junior or really matronly. It’s impossible to find up to date menswear in real men’s sizes like 34×34 Or 36×34. The cashiers have two speeds slow and stop which is not always their fault but it never fails even a quick trip takes 10 times longer than it should. The displays always look tired and worn. The aisles generally appear cluttered. The produce department is sub par, I have actually been looking for products while company big wigs are doing their corporate walks and not one of them even asked if I needed help. Can’t teach it if you yourself don’t do it. And honestly seeing as it’s not just Kmart now but also Sears 1985 is calling and wants there cash registers back. My real issue today is the annoying habit the cashiers now have of selecting print only on your transactions instead of letting the customer select print only or print and email. It happened twice during holiday shopping, once to my husband and once to me. It’s aggravating because we save our receipts for tax and household budgeting purposes, and if u try to save the paper receipt for awhile the ink disappears, so the email is a convenient way to hold onto proof of purchase for higher ticket items if issues of warranty or other things come up. The other annoyance is that none of the employees ever seem to understand the shop your way program or how to use the rewards to pay for things. Several times I have had to have entire transactions voided out because I wanted to use $ 10 and they took the entire bill of $ 60 or something. Maybe more training? It gets to where you don’t want to bother using the points unless you mean to pay for your entire purchase.

I was pleasantly surprise how clean and organize this place was. From the outside, it didn’t look that great. I think it used to be a Venture, but that was before I could tie my own shoes. I walked the store. They have everything… including the same people who shop at Walmart…

I visited this store on Saturday morning, November 23, 2013. The KMart in Tinley Park, IL is a nice one. There is a commitment to keeping up the appearance of the store from the minute that one walks in the door, and there is sufficient loss prevention activity from the store’s standpoint that makes the shopper feel safe and secure. The store features sufficient inventory and stocks items that may not be available at other stores. The Super KMart in my area is closing (a smaller sized KMart in another location is going strong) and I will certainly shop at the Tinley Park location from now on.

I love coming here past midnight, I’m a night shopper. The other night me and my boyfriend came here, and I guess we were talking a bit loud. The guy who works at the (electronics/​sporting good) goes up to my boyfriend and says «I’m right around the corner and I can hear you from there, could you tone it down?» we both lost it. The place it’s self is fun, but as long as that ass is working there its a p.o.s.

The prices aren’t as good as Wally World, but I know I can have a blue squishy (ICEE) and do my shopping. I feel like a little kid walking around with a blue tongue. The sales prices are great though. I got a cube of Pepsi for 4 bucks. And one of those H.D. chairs that fold up into a tube sock for 10. It’s a big store and it never really gets busy, so you have room to spread out.

This place has spiffed itself up recently. They added a book reading area near the front which makes it look more fancy. It looks cleaner and neater now too (not as much stuff in the aisles or on the floor). I’ve been going to Super Target, but will consider this Super K more in the future.
