My wife and I went to PASSKNOWING that they were a Christian based organization(we did 45 seconds of research to figure that out) when we were pregnant last year. At first we went to make sure she was with child, and afterwards, made a few follow up appointments for ultrasounds. Each and every time they were nothing but professional. I’m not understanding the negative comments people have with PASS Tinley Park. They were nothing but professional and compassionate. They’re a NFP that specializes in FREE services like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, consultations, and classes for expecting and new moms. They ARENOT a free clinic that has all of the medical amenities of a county health care service. And yes… they are CHRISTIAN based and do not hide that fact. If you want to skip the $ 400 — $ 500 bill that a doctor would charge to find out if your wife’s preggo or not, or if you’re a woman who needs a compassionate ear to hear you… you need to go here.

Dude, if you did 2 minutes of research on the place you’d know what they were all about. You act like they’re trying to bamboozle people.

I have an issue with this place, beacause they falsely present themselves as an outlet for information and care relating to pregnancy. While they do offer some services(such as limited distribution of donated cans/toys), it should be noted that this is primarily a Christian organization, dedicated to promoting a religion-based viewpoint. They do not make this immediately apparent, but instead of presenting all of the options to couples who are planning or expecting, they present an anti-contraception, anti-abortion viewpoint as the only option. While religious organizations can have their place, PASS is not outwardly open about their religious affiliation, and this is where I take issue. To use a personal example, I went to PASS a while back looking for information on choosing a birth-control pill. All I was given was a handful of pamphlets on the birth defects caused by the use of contraception(there were no references cited for this, and the pamphlet was full of photos of babies born with defects), as well as anti-abortion and general religion pamphlets. I’m not even sure why I received these, as I had only asked about the pill. If you’re expecting(or trying), and looking for information; please visit a doctor or a free clinic. Everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint, but PASS only presents a bible-based perspective, which can be detrimental to young women and couples when presented as the only option.
