Stopped in here on Black Friday because I’d been eyeing up a certain pair of Timbs for a while. I finally found them on the shelf but they didn’t have my size. I went to talk to someone who worked there and a few of them were just goofing off and as I approached one was about to go into the back to make an escape. I asked about the pair of shoes and if they had them in my size. So happened that they were right next to him. He handed them to me and walked away. No offer of peds or anything. I understand there were people in the store, but very few were buying. It was lots of families, so the kids are just hanging out in an already cramped store. I find somewhere to sit, with peds, and go to try the pair on. The left boot was fine. The right one had bubbling inside the shoe up by the toes. It didn’t feel right. I snagged a female employee who confirmed that that pair wasn’t right and went to check the back for another pair for me. She was very helpful and attentive. When she came back out she informed me that they didn’t have any more but that I could have them ordered, free shipping, and they would honor the Black Friday store deal. Awesome. She goes into the back to write down the style number for me and comes back out, telling me that if I just take the paper to the front register I’ll be taken care of. I go up to the register. There’s no line and I go right up to «KDucoing»(according to my receipt). She immediately gets an attitude and asks who gave me the sheet of paper. I told her that some woman in the back did. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name, as she was the only helpful one in the store. The cashier gets mad and looks up the style number and then starts stating that it says that they have a few in the store. She rudely sends another employee to check for them. She then scoffs and gets annoyed that I hadn’t been given a sheet to fill out my information. It’s a form to join their mailing list. I told her that I didn’t want to join the mailing list. She said that it was just for the order and to fill it out. This, all with a nasty tone and attitude. In the mean time she’s snapping at other employees– not like they weren’t doing their job but just being rude. «I just told you that you can’t order Juniors.» «Why can’t you listen?» So I ask for a pen and fill out the mandatory information, after a back and forth about the address because the Shipping address isn’t the same as the Billing address and I specifically don’t want my work address on a mailing list. She’s rude the whole time and continues to insist that it’s just for the shipment. So I fill it out and we’re waiting for the other employee to come back and let us know if there is a suitable pair in the store. All of a sudden the cashier stated the price. I was trying to get out, «where’s the shoes? I’m not going to pay for something I don’t have» when she cuts in and says«It’s for the order. You pay in the store when you order.» … Where did the other guy go? It was never clear that we were going through with the order because she never spoke a kind or useful word. I assumed I was filling out the information while we waited as a just in case. Okay. Fine. I swipe my card and we leave. Order completed. We go to a few other stores and as we’re waiting for the shuttle to get back to the car, I get a call. It’s the store. They said that they needed the city in Maryland where the shoes were to be shipped. The girl put«maryland, MD» in the computer, despite being nasty about making me fill out the sheet. I corrected it and the shoes arrived yesterday. Only a select few of the employees were paying attention to customers. I understand it’s busy– but that’s not the time to get nasty, rude, unattentive and socialize amongst yourselves. Thank you to the one employee who helped me and thanks to Timbs for making nice shoes. These saved you from a 1 star. I’m waiting to see if I end up with a catalogue at work.
