Pizza Shack

This is an amazing place to eat! It’s so cute and warm inside + the amazing pizza and salad bar + the incredible staff makes for great meal

I’ve been here several times, and I havent been impressed by the salad bar. The lettuce appears to have been out all day. The pizza however is delicious, and the cinnamon sticks are wonderful. Also the waitresses are very attentive to their tables.

I would probably give the Pizza Shack a 2.5 if I could. It saddens me to say this, because this restaurant was a regular place that I visited when I was younger, but it has just deteriorated in my opinion. The food is fine… it’s not bad, but it’s not anything outstanding. When I was younger and there were fewer good restaurants in Hamilton/​Tipton counties, but now there is top notch food nearby in Atlanta (DeLullos) and Cicero (10 West, etc.). Pizza Shack has remained the same through this time. It still has a nice sense of nostalgia, but to be honest, I just find the place dingy. It needs a serious renovation. It’s not the cleanest, and the booths, tables, walls, ceilings, everything… are just.old. It’s kind of dark in there and it looks pretty 70s. I’m not saying I don’t like Pizza Shack, but the way I like it is more of a fond remembrance than an actual, current love.

I am now experiencing my second bout of food poisoning caused by Pizza Shack. The food is not very good to begin with and it tastes much worse coming back up. Thanks a lot Pizza Shack. If you go, just order a Coke. I would think they couldn’t mess that up.

Whoever ranked this place above a 2 star was flat out of their tree.
Cardboard crust — not very flavorful sauce. Busy sure, but it was primetime
and I’m surprised anyone would return for a 3^rd time. Twice maybe just
to make sure wasn’t a fluke.
Save your money, there’s better places than this.

Best pizza around always hot n fresh

Eek! Methinks not, indeed.
While visiting family they insisted that we all have dinner at Pizza Shack, promising a good meal with lots of variety. Thanks to it, I’ve learned that my ideas of «good meal» and «variety» are significantly different from theirs.
Pizza Shack is pretty much a buffet — with about 4 square pizzas to pick from (Hawaiian, chicken+bacon+ranch, supreme, and nacho.) The buffet contains a small salad bar as well — but I mean it when I say small. They have more options for dressings than they do vegetables to go into said salad. In between the salad bar and pizza bar is a hidden station where you can get a dessert — but it’s so small and well disguised I didn’t see it until my niece pointed it out.
The reason why I give the Pizza Shack such a bad review is primarily the food. It’s just not worth it. It’s bland, low quality ingredients, and I could get better pizza in the frozen section at a grocery store. All the pizzas tasted about the same — with the exception of the pineapple in the Hawaiian. The nacho one had an additional cheese sauce you could put over it which distinguished it, but didn’t save it.
Additionally, the lack of options disappointed me too. They have six spaces for different pizzas — but don’t serve six different pizzas. I also noted that there’s no vegetarian pizza option, which I know many would appreciate.
Finally, there is the issue of cleanliness — or lack of it. The serving ware to get your pizza slices were greasy, napkins were nowhere to be found and never offered at our table (waitress appeared once to take our drink orders & confirm that we were doing buffet, then once to give us our drinks, and never again), and the floor was filthy with mushed cheese and bread.

Love the tostada and hawaiian ham pizzas! And you can get ‘you bake’ pizzas to take home! Also love the spicyish cheese dip with the breadsticks! And did I mention the salad bar is loaded with options!
Usually acceptable service and great value. Only downfall is that the pizzas as a whole (something about the cheese is different –example sausage pizza) have not been as great since ownership has changed… BUT still great pizza here!
Also have a good size back room which can hold a number of people for your event!
