Drove 1.5 hrs one way for the Seafood Buffet. Shrimp was ok, 3 ways(cold, plain, flavored) and probably the best 2 items were gumbo and the seafood pasta. Oysters(grilled) not bad, mashed taters not bad, Clams just ok, didn’t see any Calamari, fried Crab ok, and didn’t try either of the 2 fish items.(Catfish and one other) Dessert says included, but haven’t seen it yet. One more thing, Wife said Strawberry Butter w/rolls was good. Around $ 20 a person, on the fence as to wether we will return and try again.

My family and I stayed at the Blue Bank Resort this weekend and just finished dinner at the Fishouse restaurant at the resort. I must say — I was very impressed! I wasn’t terribly hungry, so my wife and I split the Bang Bang Sirloin. It came with rolls(with strawberry butter), and 2 sides. The steak was quite good, and was topped with several grilled jumbo shrimp and an AWESOME sauce that really made the dish. The steak and shrimp had a nice smoky flavor from the grill. The sauce and her mashed potatoes were both obviously made from scratch and of high quality. The kids got grilled cheese and grilled shrimp, both with fries. My only criticism of the meal was that you could taste a hint of catfish on the fries(obviously cooked in the same oil). We had an «Oreo delight» dessert that was great and loved by everyone. Best part of the night was the atmosphere — we sat on the deck overlooking the lake at sunset. There were a couple of fire pits going, and the whole affair was nice and relaxing.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in Tiptonville. I remember coming here every Friday night for dinner with my friends. Coming here after being away for 10+ years felt like coming home to a warm and comfortable place. It brought back so many memories– good, bad, happy, and sad. All of which have contributed to making me the person that I am today. The food is still as good as I remembered it to be-tasty and delicious. I ordered the fried catfish with all the sides that came with it– fries, hush puppies, and onion rings with tartar sauce– all of which were satisfying. A true testament to how good Southern cooking is. Of course, my cardiologist will probably cringe from all the fried food that one plate contains but that is an entirely different story… hehehe The servers were still friendly and accommodating as they have been in the past. The restaurant has moved into a new location in the time that I have been away and is housed in an entirely different structure. Although it is no longer the same restaurant, it still has the cozy, homey, and comfortable feel to it. This location is closer to the water instead of located at the other side of the highway like the old location. One great benefit to the new location is that it affords patrons with a magnificent view of the lake– the sunset is magnificent and a beautiful sight to see. The restaurant is housed in the same compound as the hotel/motel but sadly they did not have any vacancy the night we were there so we missed our chance to stay the night and see the sunrise the following morning. Next time, we will definitely plan ahead and stay at the resort to see that sunrise. Parking is free in the parking lot within the resort. Atmosphere is casual. Noise level is average.
