Leatherwood Fish Lodge

Went there in 2013 and will not go back. Was like going back in time. The food was not good and the two other tables of customers looked like they came from a horror movie. What happened to this place? It used to be full on Saturday night with great food. Will not go back.

Not only is this the closest restaurant to my home, I’m way out in the country, but it’s a place that you will never leave hungry! Leatherwood is a family run, family style, all you can eat seafood restaurant. The plates just keep coming!
When our friend took us there for the first time, they asked what we wanted and he said, «A little bit of everything!», and that’s what we got. Slaw, fries, peel and eat shrimp, fried oysters, fried shrimp, whole fried catfish, fried cod, and a never ending jug of sweet tea. There were other items but I just can’t remember them all.
The atmosphere is a big room filled with very large picnic type farm tables. I’m sure it can get quite loud when full but that would be part of the fun.
I didn’t have any dessert, no room in my tummy, but the desserts I saw were all homemade and looked fantastic.
Do keep in mind that Leatherwood’s is only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Do visit hungry!
