Went in a couple of months ago and had one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while in a retail shop. The manager(owner?) of the shop could not be nicer. I ordered a deli sandwich and he gave me a bunch of free bagels to take back to Chicago with me. But aside from the incredible customer service on the part of the manager, this place makes a damn good bagel! I am from a part of New York where there is a great bagel shop every mile or 2 and therefore my standards tend to be very high. I can say that these guys are doing it the right way! Not too doughy, not too airy. Unlike most bagels you find in the Midwest, this tastes the way a bagel should taste.

A Toledo favorite! I used to have Barry Bagels all the time when I was a kid, growing up in Northwest Ohio. Their bagels are always made fresh and are delicious. I love the variety of cream cheese that they offer. But whenever I’m craving a bagel sandwich, this is the place to go. A classic honey roasted turkey sandwich on an everything bagel with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and cheese. The perfect lunchtime meal! Their soups are phenomenal as well. And some of the best parties I’ve been to have Barry Bagels trays of lunch meats, cheeses, pickles, and bagels. Friendly service and just an all-around great place to eat.

I love this Bagel place. Best food ever. Try their Lox on Onion Stick, Cookies and soup. Every item is the best! I been coming here all my life. And will continue to come. Believe it or not they have a good selection of potato chips. Great atmosphere.

Best bagels EVER! Every time we come home to Toledo for a visit, we make sure to get bagels from Barry’s. It’s become a family tradition to make sure to have large quantities of bagels on hand to eat and more to take home with us to tide us over until the next Toledo visit. A great family run business with excellent service and outstanding food. Fast service. Clean store.

I can honestly say that when I am away from Toledo this is one of the places I miss and eat at right when I get back. Also when I travel friends request me to bring bagels… more like don’t show up with out them… Barry Bagels is a Toledo Staple especially for lunch. Mark(owner) just made me try their oatmeal raisin cookie… Please do yourself a favor and go get one of those ridiculous monster cookies. They are in a nice case right where you order. So good. Lunch and small business catering I would say is where they shine. Their bagels are great and always consistent. If I had to nitpick, my wife and I wish there were more blueberry is in the blueberry bagel but thats about it. Everyone there is always really cool. I always run into people I know there, the area really supports them. My favorite sandwich is the Pastrami on a Everything bagel. To be specific… Havarti, lettuce, onion, tomato, banana pepper, horseradish, light mayo, spicy mustard. Sometimes no mayo or and do cream cheese. A Sylvania High School staple:(from Conetta) Salt bagel, plain cream cheese and crushed up Doritos… yup Check out their Smash Toledo video here:

Very delicious deli and the best Barry’s I’ve been to in the area. Barry himself and his brother often work the counter at this location, so you know everything will come out perfectly. Other locations, like Westgate, tend to slip on service and quality. This location is also responsible for catering, so everything is always fresh and delicious. I try to stop by at least once weekly if I can. The fresh brewed iced tea can run out during a busy lunch cycle. That’s really my only complaint! It’s always amazing. Grab a half pound of potato salad to go with your deli sandwich!

HECKYEAH, Barry’s Bagles. YESPLEASE. Let me just start by saying, most delicious strawberry cream cheese on the market, hands down. So freaking good, i want to put it on everything i eat. They also offer amazing, fresh, high quality, properly cooked roast beef and corned beef by the pound. Beautiful. They have an excellent selection of bagels, all of which are perfectly delicious. They have a stellar selection of fresh in-house made cookies, all of which are also RIDICULOUSLY delicious. I’ve never had anything here that wasn’t outright fantastic… and they will make anything for you, all you have to do is ask. They are very accommodating and friendly at the counter. There is often a line, but it moves quickly. Definitely in my top 10 favorite Toledo/Sylvannia food spots.

Stopped by today for lunch and was happy with my sandwich but was very disapointed with how dirty the place is. If this did not have the name Barry Bagels people would stop going because it is so filthy!

Barry Bagels is my favorite bagel place in the world. That’s right, world. I love the veggie cream cheese spread on a honey wheat bagel. I get really nostalgic when I’m around these bagels because they used to ship them to my high school every morning so I have to stop in to Barry’s every time I’m back in Ohio.

Breakfast at Barry Bagels is one of the perks of visiting family in Sylvania. I BB’ed it two mornings in a row. You don’t really need to know anything else except this: Order the spinach and feta bagel, toasted, with the vegetable ranch cream cheese. There’s a reason the vegetable ranch cream cheese tub is twice the size of any of the other cream cheese tubs. Don’t mess around with anything other than the veggie ranch cream cheese. You’ll thank me. Oh, and if you’re looking for a more lunch-y option(though, there isn’t any reason you can’t have a bagel with cream cheese AND a bagel sandwich), their lox is pretty good. The one time I ordered it, the girl didn’t know what it was, which was really cute, but Barry knows what he’s doing. A-okay lox in this joint.

The food is okay but this location is slow and somewhat unprofessional. We went in about 20 minutes before closing and they were basically already closed and treated us as a nuisance for asking them for to-go food. I hate going places last minute but there was enough time to make 20 sandwiches in that amount of time let alone 2. If we had gone in 5 minutes before close, I could understand a little more but 20 is enough time for take out. I have been here several times and it is always the same — the workers are usually too busy talking about their weekend plans and gossip amongst each other to make a sandwich quickly. Unenthused workers, combined with the completely inefficient setup of the flow of orders, they are just very, very slow. The Barry’s at Secor and Central is 100 times faster and nicer.
