Doc’s is our go-to neighborhood place for a quick meal and a beer, and we go there quite often with our daughter and her family. After reading some of the other reviews which are all over the place in ratings, I feel I should put in my 0.02. My husband loves the craft beer list. It changes often but he can always find a new one he wants to try. They have growlers now, but the growler prices are pretty high. They quoted him $ 35+ on a growler fill-up on the last beer he had there. We didn’t fill up. The Oliver House Brew Pub’s growlers run about $ 20 so this price seemed really excessive. Food quality is variable, depending on what you get. I’ve learned to stick with thr Doc Burger and my husband gets the fish and chips. These are safe and predictable. I got a baked potato a couple of months ago and it must have been in the oven for over 8 hours. It was shriveled up and it was almost impossible to cut through the skin to eat it. I should have sent it back. Stick with the basics on food and you should be okay. One beef I have is the small plastic plates that don’t give you a whole lot of room to maneuver your food around to cut into it. OTOH, they keep the portion sizes reasonable so you don’t deal with a ridiculous mountain of food you can’t eat. The plates are OLD, guys. You need to pony up for some real plates. Go to the bargain bin at the Libbey Glass outlet and load up. Anything is an improvement. You will be supporting the local economy instead of that of melamine manufacturers. I gave the review a «3» as the positives(beer list) outweighed the unpredictable food problems. If you go there mostly for the beer list, you will not be disappointed, as they have one of the largest selections of craft beers in South Toledo.

This place has a waitress at the bar that is VERYRUDE. When I’m in your establishment and I’m spending my money, I expect decent customer service. The food was OK, but the customer service was AWFUL. She acted like she had an attitude, and was just trying to get rid of me… This will ABSOLUTELYBETHELASTTIME I GOTOTHISPLACE…

I had the worst bowl of Beef Harvest canned soup today. It was like I was eating the can. Ordered Garlic Toast and it was one greasy slice of grilled sandwich bread NOT Texas Toast, with not the least bit of garlic. Doc Watson’s is routinely SUPERB, but something is amiss in the kitchen on this particular visit. A group of us were planning to eat here tonight but after the… brutal tongue lashing I got from the manager, this older woman with cotton candy white hair and 2 black eyes told me I WOULDPAYFORTHESOUP I didn’t eat. She had this delight in her eyes like she was enjoying telling me I was stuck paying the bill. The 35 year old waitress who had 32″ long light brown stringy hair was very unhappy with me telling her I could not eat the soup. I did not even mention it was warm not hot. I thought ordering something else would be apology enough for not liking the awful tepid gruel. These two women were very, very hateful to me. I left very hurt. I did not tip and I have cancelled our party of 8 for dinner following the Lights Before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo. I will never return. I look forward to speaking with the male owner. He will be instrumental in me removing this post.

I have been here a couple times. A good bar, lots of beer to choose from. However the seating is very cramped and nobody is there to tell you were to seat or a sign that says seat yourself. I stood there for 10 minutes before discovering I was supposed to seat myself. The bartender kept looking at us. but did not inform us. Food was good however, but the place just needs a better system I feel.

Doc Watson’s is not too far from our house so we come here often. I love stopping for a bite to eat and a brew. I always have good service and the food is always great. It’s a fun atmosphere for a group of friends or even just a dinner for two on a weekday. It’s nothing fancy but it’s better than your average bar. Doc Watson’s is a go-to for me and my boyfriend. PS. The ‘Cold Hot Dip’ is awesome!

I’m not much for review writing, especially since everyone experiences places differently, but being a regular I thought I owed Doc’s my two cents. I started going to Doc’s over a year ago when the watering hole I used to frequent changed ownership… and changed hours. Being a night worker, I can’t tell you the difficulty in finding a bar that is open at the end of my shift. So Doc’s gets a star for their awesome understanding of their populace.(My employer is not the only 24 hour operation in the immediate area) Doc’s is a bar, with 34 taps. They not only have all the popular beers and liquors, but also local and seasonal brews as well. If they don’t know how to make a drink, they’ll find out! So a second star for being dedicated and true. Yet Doc’s is more than just a bar. It is also a restaurant. The menu is four pages, from the traditional bar grub to made from scratch corned beef hash. You will feel comfortable bringing your children or in-laws here for breakfast. Three stars! To earn that fourth star, Doc’s has a pool table, juke box, daily and weekly specials, and various coin operated games. Bonus, Doc’s has free Wi-Fi! While I may be a regular, there are aspects of Doc’s I do not like. Personally, I think some of the(fried) food is over cooked(such as the fries). When they get busy, the service begins to suffer. Located in a plaza, Doc’s shares the parking with the surrounding businesses.

Great place to watch football or hear live music. Pretty good beer selection and super friendly staff. Food is good(recommend wings and sandwiches) and the crowd is cool.

Pretty neat little dive, located in a strip mall. I had their chili & a Greek salad. Both were good. Service was acceptable & place was decently clean & well kept. FYI, very convenient to University of Toledo Medical Center.

Wow. 2 years since I rated this place. Things have changed some over the last few years. I’ve been coming here since grad school and I’ve noticed the same bartenders for years. Now, there has been some turnover. Sigh… service is not the same depending on who is behind the bar. If it’s the the old crew that knows me, good service great beer pour. New staff. 1⁄3 foam filled pours and waiting 30 minutes for a refill whether it’s busy or not. I drink the high end beers so proper pour is key. Ask for sports event to be put on and you’ll wait 30 minutes depending who is working. Still great beer selection on bottle and draft including cheap $ 2 – 3 can, bottle, and drafts of the month. Nope, I still don’t like their food but I am admittedly picky. If I’ve tried it before and didn’t like it, I won’t try it again. Hate to take a star from one of my fav places when I’m home but service is now inconsistent. Come drink one anyway. Just bring your patience

We usually love Doc’s… But not the last couple months. The service is sooooo slow! There could be 5 people or 50 and we still wait forever! My chicken on my salad was raw tonight. Instead of removing it off the bill… They take the chicken cost off. Kids meals were a $ 1. This did not reflect our bill. My mom ordered soup before her meal… Didn’t come out till after food was served. She also ordered potato skins that looked like they sat in the window for ever. Our review also reflect the same issues we had last time we were in… Slow serves and old food! Please send out the food when it’s ready! Leaving up in a warmer is not good! Especially when we can see it sitting there for 25mins!

I love this place for breakfast… however, the service is typically pretty poor. The food quality is above average for Toledo. I love Huevos Rancheros… Huevos mean eggs. right??? Well… apparently that was a miss for the kitchen and our server… how about beans, onions and potatoes instead.um.hello…can I get my huevos? I got them shortly after she delivered… my plate which was fine and food was descent but then she forgot the salsa and the sour cream… I get it. it’s a bar and it’s breakfast so likely the staff was working late the night before… but really sucks for a customer the next day. If the service could step it up… and if the food quality improved just slightly… it could be one of the best breakfasts in Toledo.

Good spot for the weekend Bloody Mary bar and waffle. At times, the bar can be lacking, and the staff need to be asked for items, but this hasn’t happened often. Skip the breakfast nachos though — light on chips and toppings. Seriously though, the waffle is perfection.

Doc Watson’s is a very good bar. That being said do not come here for breakfast. This place serves good beer, but having to seat ourselves, and waiting a good five minutes before the bartender/waitress was done with a conversation with a few gentlemen at the bar, she finally decided to hand us some menus. After taking our order the sub par food arrived handed to us by the bartender and a very grumpy man who was thanked but couldn’t be bothered to even smile. The food I highlight below. Salsa — runny, weak Burrito — bland, had to add sriracha to make it worth wile Hash browns — unevenly spiced, pan scrapings to add crunch.

This place is a solid choice for weekend brunch in Toledo. I’m not normally a day drinker, but I really enjoyed my aggressively seasoned bloody mary, and my wife claimed her mimosa was real good. Taco meat on a sausage burger? Why not throw some chorizo and pulled pork on as well? Well you can at Doc Watson’s! They offer the option to basically add anything to anything and I love the concept. I tried«the morgan» omelette because the combo of ingredients sounded great. Green olives, cream cheese and bacon? Count me in! It was good. My lady tried the nachos with beans instead of meat and they were quite nice. Also nice? The biscuits and gravy we sampled and shared. Very peppery with some delightfully buttery and toasted biscuits. Gourmet this is not. But for bar food, it’s pretty fantastic. If you’re hungover and looking for some great brunch this place should be on your radar.

I’m reviewing this restaurant as I’m experiencing it, walking in we were immediately thrown off. The restaurant is split into two parts with bar on both sides. It’s very confusing, and no one seemed eager or happy to greet us. Plus on a side note this place is tucked into a corner of a complex and was hard to find. I read the reviews and decided to bring my boyfriend here as a suprise, he loves I PA’S and different good burgers. He ordered a sam Adams rebel to start and they were out. The wait staff was very awkward, we asked about the deep fried pickles whether they were spears or chips. He kind of just shrugged and said either way. I don’t think he knew what he was talking about, most places have one or the other. I got the grilled cheese, it had tomato, bacon, cream cheese, and three different types of cheese. I think they put a whole tub of cream cheese on it, all the bites were just big globs of cream cheese. It was greasy and very unappetizing. All and all i would never go back

Delicious burgers. Great craft beer rotation(draft and bottled). I mean… how could you possibly go wrong? Stopped by here after work one Thursday afternoon for a coworker’s going away, and I was so glad I did. Especially after meeting Captain Jarhead. That badass ½ lb gourmet burger with crumbled blue cheese, cold hot dip(sounds interesting… so good), bacon, fried egg and red onion. The burger itself was sooo juicy and full of flavor. The buns used were soft and fresh, nothing too dramatic. I thoroughly enjoyed this burger. Especially when I paired it with a couple of IPAs on draft. I would definitely return. For that burger, and more beer. They also have a pool table. And live bands. And lots of TVs for sports. Their jalapeño poppers were also really good. Nice big chunks of jalapenos in there. So… go. You should. Like… last night.

Decided to give Doc’s another crack and they came good. I’ve had a change of mind about this place — for now. This time ’round I had their king cut prime rib, and it was cooked to perfection — absolutely delicious. It came with a serving of fresh green beans — at least they had the texture and taste of fresh ones. They were served in a garlic/wine sauce. A nice baked potato and a spinach salad were included with the entrée, all for a bit less than $ 20. For pub food, this is a hard act to follow. One thing I can say for certain about Doc’s is they lack consistency — I’ve been here a few times and I’ve been really disappointed. This time I really felt like I got what I paid for.
