This is the CLEANESTGYMINTOLEDO! Equipment is top notch with cardio, machines and free weights! The staff are very friendly and helpful! They also have great personal trainers who have helped people lose weight and get fit! Their kids room is a huge draw. My 3 kids love it!

A fairly basic gym with no showers or permanent lockers. They’ve got a good selection of free weights & machines, along with a dozen ellipticals & some stair machines. If you’re visting Toledo, they have a one week guest membership for $ 20 that’s a good deal.

I’ve been a member of Fitness 19 for about 10 months. At first I was attracted to them because of the proximity(1 mile away from my apartment, instead of several). I had tried out a few other gyms in the area that were far superior, but knowing me, I knew that I wouldn’t be going to the gym if it meant driving out of my way to go. Fitness 19 is moderately clean and the hours are not terrible, but definitely not good — they close at 11pm on M-R, 9pm(I think) on Fridays, and I don’t remember the other hours. Also, they are a coed facility. I’m from the Detroit area and I am used to gyms that have separate facilities for men and women — maybe because there are many Muslim people where I’m from. Regardless, it’s nice to be able to work out without smelling 15 unwashed men around you, or being able to actually use the weights; at Fitness 19, dudebros sprawl like house cats all over the weights, and while you might get some amusement watching them watch themselves, you won’t get to use any benches or check your form in the mirror. There are a decent number of cardio machines, but there are not many weight machines or free weights. That is the biggest problem. The best times to go are early morning to 12 or 1pm, and 8−11pm. The rest of the times there are too many people and the place often smells bad… not like clean sweat and exertion, like one would expect a gym to smell, but like unwashed people grunting all around you. Today I went to cancel my membership; I hadn’t been in months because it was just too many hurdles to jump through for a good gym experience(which was disappointing, as before I moved to Ohio I went to the gym 3 – 5 times a week). When I went in I was told that I could cancel, but any cancellation was really just a «30 day notice of cancellation» and I would still be charged for the next month, regardless of when I came in. Fine. Then, the girl couldn’t find my name in the computer — apparently someone had typed it in incorrectly. Therefore, she could not give notice of cancellation. So, even though they had my name spelled correctly enough to charge me every month and to send me dozens of emails, they couldn’t find me to cancel services unless I had my membership card(which I, of course, did not have). I asked to speak to a manager but was told there was none there. I asked to leave my name for a manager to call me. I was told that was not possible. I was told, however, that I could write a letter or I could find my card and come back. I explained that I didn’t know where it was at and I didn’t have time to look for it and then come back with it during normal business hours, but I was told there was nothing that could be done. The girl was very professional and apologetic, but this experience was definitely a bad one.
