I went to HRB for take out yesterday and there were some significant negative points but equal positive ones! I couldn’t find anyone to greet me or answer my question when I arrived. I helped myself to a togo container. I scanned the buffet and saw that many items had just been freshly filled so that was great! However, when I looked at the pot stickers they were only a few and they were burned and dried out! UGH! I went to the only person I could find and he was no help at all! He didn’t speak English and just shook his head no to me. I said«can you find someone for me?» and he just shook his head. I almost put down my tray and left because I still couldn’t find any help! I served up some items and finally got someone to cash me out. When I got home though I was so happy with the food! The seafood pasta was absolutely delicious! The spinach side dish was great and the black pepper chicken was the best I’ve had. Very moist and flavorful. I’ll probably go back but won’t expect the staff to be the shining star. But, go for the food!

Food was stone cold, soup was cool. When we complained they said they had a steam table not working. However, we sampled food from every station and even the food that came directly from the kitchen was only lukewarm, not hot. Too bad, we used to enjoy family dinners at this place, but cold food is not conducive to repeat business.

I just moved to area. Got a 5.99 lunch coupon in mail. Thought why not. Was uncomfortable with sign on door reminding you to lock your doors. Food was old cold. the Hitachi Grill section was even worst, just nasty. Lastly how can fresh made sushi be nasty. I didn’t finish one plate and left. I would not recommend you eat here.

Out of all the Chinese Buffet’s you could go to in this area… I absolutely recommend this one for quality and cleanliness! You walk in and are seated, they take your drink order, then your off to the buffet! (*the dishes are always clean*) The food is hot and fresh and they restock the buffet often enough that you don’t really notice how busy the atmosphere is. They have more fruit, as a dessert option than they do little cakes and pudding but all the necessities are in place. I’m extremely picky when it comes to my Sushi …with that being said, «Buffet-Sushi» is usually a no-no because it’s chances of carrying a death sentence. However! This place has a great little sushi bar with good flavor, variety and I didn’t die lol. I’ve been here many times with friends and continue to return over the years!

The food inside is traditional and authentic Chinese and Japanese food. It’s pretty impressive, I love Happy Rose! I hope that I will go again.

The service is poor and the food isn’t flavorful. Even the atmosphere is depressing. I saw the pictures of this place online, and it looks lit-up and beautiful. It’s nothing like that in reality.

I really enjoyed this place. The food was really good and it was reasonably priced. The food was really fresh. They don’t have a ton of variety of desserts but they made up too it with the food. The crab legs were really well seasoned but I think I only got the left overs because they were really skimpy… Not alot of meat on them. Crab Rangoon was realllllyy good. Yum

Pretty much your typical Chinese restaurant. Good food, good price and usually a surprisingly good selection of fresh sushi. I just wish they were better at replacing the crab legs. It’s always a race to see who can get to them first and if you aren’t quick enough it’ll probably be another half hour wait at the least

I’m surprised at all the positive reviews. I saw nothing spectacular when I visited this place. The food was old and quit mediocre for my taste. I understand that it is a buffet, but that doesn’t mean that the food needs to look dried up and seem like it sat there for 3 hours. I tried their«fresh» crab legs and was disgusted at how cold they were. It made it impossible to crack the legs, so I gave up and had dessert, since that was the only thing to seem appealing.

Not a bad place to eat, sushi is included in a buffet purchase. As a whole I’ve had better Chinese experiences, however the staff and the ability to customize the food how you want is what I like. By that I mean if you sit down you can go over by the sushi where they have a habchi grill and make what you want to order, where it is extremely fresh. However as in most buffet places stay away from any raw food such as their mussles and shrimp. Not saying anything bad about this establishment however good sitting out tends to turn bad.

We’ll the food was pretty good the problem was the payment there was four kids and they thought two of the kids we’re fourteen When one was twelve and the other was nine when the kids walked outside to talk and stuff the lady said«bring them in bring them in» all because she couldn’t believe their ages all for 2 – 4 bucks

When we were living in Toledo, my fiancé and I went to Happy Rose Buffet several times to eat. The price is reasonable and the food is average(I say average because I’m Chinese and I know what ‘good’ Chinese food really is). They do have a small sushi bar, however, we’ve been when the sushi is fresh and when it’s not fresh at all. Also, the buffet has never had any good Chinese vegetables like gai lan or bok choi when we’ve been — this is something I would suggest they consider adding to the buffet menu.

So my newly adopted family takes me to Happy Rose for lunch every Monday… and I love it! First off they have an excellent sushi selection, to name a few: California roll, Philadelphia roll, Rainbow roll, spicy Tuna roll, and inari!!! Getting sushi can be a very costly outing and I get a silly guilty pleasure from eating two plates of sushi for their lunch buffet price of $ 7.25. After I’ve had my sushi fix, I’d like to try a plate of other random goodness usually fried rice, orange chicken, steamed asparagus, roast beef, stuffed potatoes… I’m getting hungry thinking of all the food. Gotta save room for dessert! I usually get some tapioca, cheesecake, cream puffs, and pineapples. And finally Happy Rose is a family run business, and I think it’s super cute how the owners bring their kids to work after school… reminds me of growing up in the family jewelry store! So go to Happy Rose… be nice to your wallet and support this awesome mom/pop shop! :)

I haven’t been to this buffet since it opened up years ago and decided to try it again recently. It was a Monday so it didn’t seem like the food was as well stocked, maybe because it was a week day. They had a lot of staple buffet foods like general tsp’s, chicken with broccoli, crab legs for dinner, sushi, etc. But their selection seems a lot smaller than some of the newer buffets in town. The food there is good but it seems like a very average buffet– not a place I’d complain about but nothing that set it apart from other places in town. I do have to say that I’m not quite sure why there were no bowls located near the soup section? I’m not sure if that’s how it normally is or if they just forgot to put the bowls there. Oh and if you’re going there for the first time, there’s no direct entrance to the parking lot. You have to either enter from the parking lot where the Michael’s is or at the light further up.

Man this place is good! Ignore the outside building paint and just go in to enjoy this place. Plenty of variety — good seafood for adults and plenty of fried deliciousness and healthy veggies for the kids. EVERYTHINGISTASTY Place is dirt cheap — $ 10.99 for dinner with crab legs, full size spareribs, 5 different seafood dishes, sushi, and soup bar. This place must be some type of money laundering operation — LOL! Food is very fresh as it goes fast! I really like that they change out the serving spoons frequently too. Service is good — plates cleared quickly and drinks filled before they empty. Great fish tank in lobby with some big fish that the kids love. Bathroom is clean and well stocked. I can’t wait until my next trip to the Toledo Zoo so that I can have another satisfying run at this place!

I absolutely love this buffet, I’ve gone here after major medical school exams with some close friends of mine. My favorite option is hands down their coconut shrimp. It has a good sweet coconut flavor with a crunchy texture with plump shrimp. Can’t get enough of it. They also serve a decent selection of decent tasting sushi(that hasn’t given me food poisoning), seafood, meat and vegetable options, and a decent dessert selection including softserve. They recently added a hibachi option which I did not try. I love it. Try the coconut shrimp. Probably one of the better buffets in Toledo.
