LOVE! Amazing staff who are always extremely helpful. I got my makeup done for a special event and they always use the highest end products. I wish I had more than 5 stars.

I moved to Toledo from Ann Arbor, MI in 2012. Before the move, Sephora was easily my favorite store. Now, I barely shop there, and if I do, it’s only online. The customer service at this Sephora is awful. If, by slim chance, you are acknowledged by an associate, chances are the encounter will leave much to be desired. I have been a VIB for the past 3 years, but that will no longer be true this coming year. My most recent shopping experience at this particular Sephora happened over the summer, when I went to pick up my birthday gift and a few other items. No one asked me if I needed assistance, even though I was there early on a Saturday morning and one of maybe 3 or 4 people shopping in the store at the time. During checkout, I handed the postcard about my birthday gift that I’d received in the mail to the cashier. I also had my reward card in my hand, ready to hand over. Instead of asking for my reward card or looking at the postcard, the cashier proceeded to ask me for my name, address, and other personal information in order to find my account in the system. After entering all of my information, he informed me that he was unable to find my account. He apologized and began ringing up my items anyway. Confused, I spoke up and told him I had my reward card with me, lifting up my hand so he could see it. With an annoyed look on his face and a sigh, he took and scanned my card. I then paid $ 80 for my items and he proceeded to bag them; not in a standard Sephora bag, but in a clear zip-lock bag. I though this strange, and not to mention difficult to carry, but I thanked him and left. Once I got to the car, I began to get upset. Why was I treated that way? Why did he claim that he could not find my reward account, and give up so easily? And what on earth was with the plastic zip-lock bag? As a VIB member and former devotee to Sephora, I was very disappointed. I have not returned to the store since, and I have no plans to. Thank god for Ulta!

Sephora is my crack. Seriously. Normally, I only shop clearance racks almost anywhere I go. Sephora has no clearance racks. However, I always have to stop here, and always end up buying a bunch of stuff I really don’t need but just have to have. It is an awesome store. This store in particular has super nice, friendly employees. Some Sephoras I have gone to in the past have had kinda snobby staff, but Toledo’s staff is helpful and goes out of their way to help you. Check out was quick, and I will be back!

I was elated when Sephora first opened here in Toledo. At the time, I was living in Cincinnati, and the mall I went to there had one, and I could only tell my family here about the wonderful things found at Sephora. When I moved home, I went by myself. No one in the store seemed to want to acknowledge me. I figured it was because of my apparel: sweats, t-shirt and a plain face. I returned. I dressed up a little more, and even put on some make-up — but even though the associates were standing around doing little, they seemed unconcerned with me. So I left. I returned again near Christmas time, because I had seen a product I had to get for my sister. I skimmed the store. Then I did a more thorough check for said item. I couldn’t find it. I was clearly on a mission, but again, the associates seemed more interested in each other than helping me. So I approached one. She told me she wasn’t sure if they had the item in stock, so she brought me the store director. The director told me that the store was sold out and that she was sure the chain as a whole was sold out — and no plans to make any more. Just as I turned to walk out of the store, she stopped me and offered to search, call and then ship to me one if there were any more available. A beam of light in a dark Christmas shopping day! I, however, would have to pay shipping. I told her that I wouldn’t, because it wasn’t my fault that her store was out of the product. She found one for me. I purchased it, they sent it to my house and I picked a few more gifts up while I was still in the store. I was satisfied and hoped that Sephora had redeemed itself. I took my sister there with me last week and had a similar experience to my first 2 — lots of employees chatting amongst themselves and none willing to even so much as greet me. I’m very disappointed with Sephora’s customer service. I will more than likely not return. Ulta has opened up and is easier to get to, so I will give that a whirl.
