Well, the experience can vary depending on the server and other guests. This place can be so pretentious at times. I refuse to use the Oak Room anymore. The guys who hang out in there are so rude and think that they’re better than everyone. It’s not a pleasant and friendly environment. The workout facility is nice, although it seems that a treadmill is always out of order. Chef Michael is excellent and very friendly. He always seems to make his way around to chat with guests. Russell is a great server. Sometimes he is in the Main Dining room, and other times, he’s in the tavern.

The Toledo Club is that rare opportunity a person should experience once in their lifetime. The focus has to be on the building and its amenities. The Toledo Club from the outside really does look like it could be an art museum or a place of higher learning at a college or university campus. It’s large façade facing downtown is 5 stories of brick & mortar. The side facing Monroe street provides a nice piece of architecture, a semi-circular center area with balconys. Inside — magnificent! Dark wood, oak likely, line all the halls and rooms. The Red Room held a reception that I was attending and the ambience was romantic(a wedding cocktail hour before reception dinner). Art, dark walls, soft chair seating and tables. You could walk around easily(170+ people attending) and just get lost in the tapestry, art and carpeting. Great stuff. On the fourth floor was The Belevedere Room which held the reception dinner and dance party. Great seating arrangements for the wedding party and guests. Wooden drop floor for post-dinner pairing up to dance. Again, loads of history and elegance. The upper floors have elevator service. What’s very fashionable was the transition from floors 1, 2 and 3 to the upper floors. The stairways after the third floor move from dark wood to white marble. Truly spectacular stuff. Coat room on first floor was huge and well-appointed by staff. The meal was better than most you’ll get at a wedding reception. Salad — cold; main course — warm and served on pre-heated plates; wedding cake — YES! And there were cookies and coffee, too. This was a real winner. Toledo has a gem of a club. Historic and still running strong.

We had a great night here. The food was great and the venue was thoughtful. It is fairly amazing that this magnificent structure still exist in downtown toledo. Here for a wedding. It was an amazing wedding and would be worth coming back.
