Drove by several times and finally decided to try the place a few weeks ago for a friends birthday and we had an excellent experience. So good i”v already been back once more and will be back again.

This place is sooo good. I got the empanadas and rib eye steak. The steak has great flavor and well cooked. They also give you dipping sauces which are great as well. The steak is around $ 35 but it’s well worth it.

Went on a whim with a friend while on business. Great service. Great wine. Great food. The steak was superb. I’ll definitely come back when I’m back in the area.

My husband and I have loved Malbec for years so it made perfect sense to order their catering for my recent big birthday. We decided to order food to-go rather than having our party serviced by Malbec(it was too casual a party for that sort of thing). From ordering the food, picking it up and serving it, the entire process was seamless. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh! We had a mountain of empanadas(my personal favorite), suprema sandwiches and fideos primavera. Everyone loved the food and I might have an addiction to the fideos primavera!

Had a nice dinner here on Friday night with my boyfriend, but unfortunately, there are a few flaws that I have to talk about. I usually love malbec as a wine of choice, but the selections that the restaurant have for guests were horrible. So I just got a pinot noir instead. I decided to order some Chicken Empanadas as a starter, which was excellent, but I wish the server did disclose that there were olives in there for whoever that does not like olives. Whatever, No biggie. Then, I ordered the arroz con maricos, which was pretty much a paella. I love paella so i was expecting it to be good already. Well, it was not what I expected ATALL. the rice has NOFLAVOR! I want to spice it up with a hot sauce, but who would pay $ 3 for a side of hot sauce? that’s right; no one. However, my boyfriend’s skirt steak turned out to be quite good, so I guess that made up for it. Along with my a little disappointment in the food, the service was excellent. I would go back, but definitely not order the arroz con maricos again unless the restaurant buys a stock of hot sauce for guests who like hot sauce like I do.

very small size of meal(shared the 2 person paella for 2), service not friendly and very slow. they also put a 18% gratuity fix on the check! the meal itself was OK(not too good), but for this price I am really upset. can’t recommend, there are plenty of better restaurants out there!

We had dinner here earlier today to celebrate Mothers Day. The restaurant was beautiful! We sat in the outside patio area and the vibe was just amazing. The service was terrific! They always came by to check on us and to make sure everything was going well. The food was delicious. I can’t believe we never knew about this place. I ordered the bife al chimichurri norteño. It was perfect. The steak was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri was out of this world! I will definitely be spreading the word and letting everyone know about this restaurant.

Malbec is a quaint, dark boutique restaurant south of Burbank. We had the sausage appetizer and it was very good. The Empanadas and Frito Mixto(fried seafood and mushrooms) were also very tasty. For dinner our party had different steaks and the Arroz con Mariscos(paella). Everything was very tasty and the serving sizes were great. The steaks were juicy and tender. Top notch. For desert we had the Crema Catalana(Spanish crème brûlée), Mousse de Chocolate and the Budin de Pan(bread pudding). They were all tasty but the bread pudding was COLD, and not our favorite. Valet parking is behind the restaurant, in the alley. Even after validation from Malbec it still costs $ 5.50 which was an unpleasant surprise. If I spend over $ 600 in your establishment, I shouldn’t pay for parking. Staff was friendly and pretty attentive. Overall, a nice evening and a recommended restaurant. 4 stars!

Food is good and service was excellent! Steak is truly Argentinian and extremely tender. Sides are heavy and has to much oil(or cream) on my taste. Wine list was good as well I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

Love love love this place. What a hidden local gem. The food always on point and perfectly seasoned. I tried the skirt steak and it was perfectly cooked so was the grilled veggie. I also tried the seafood paella and my friend had seafood pasta both were fresh and flavorful. Even when I was sick with a cold, the food didn’t taste bland at all. Now I know where to go for food while I’m sick. I also love the ambience, lighting and simple décor of this place and of course the attentive waiters. Such a cute little place. I rarely give a place 5 stars. Can’t remember if I ever did. Didn’t want to write a review and wanted to keep this place for myself but it deserves it. Can’t find anything wrong with this place.

I always look for new and exciting places to eat and one Saturday night I came across Malbec. I was very hesitant as I have been to many Argentinean steak houses and was very disappointed. It was definitely not the case here! Appetizers: Beef and Corn Empanada was delicious! Beef Carpaccio was the best I have tasted in a long time. Just the right amount of salt, lemon and Parmesan, just wish there was a little more meat on there. Main Course: Their Filet Mignon with roasted potatoes and spinach, was amazing as well! Every piece of that dish was cooked with love and tasted like heaven. The filet was cooked to perfection. Dessert: Dulce de Leche Crepes also a great culinary enjoyment. Not too sweet, served with fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream. They also glazed the top of the crêpe to give it a little crunch which was great as well. We will definitely like to come back here. The only concerns that I had was the service and it was a little too dark for my taste, you can barely read the menu. As for the service, she was friendly but not very attentive. Can’t wait to come back!

Chose to come here from the awesome dinner selection on the Dine La menu. Parking: street. Ambience: dark, romantic. Service: friendly but not very attentive. Food: Starters– 1) Langoustine salad. This was an awesome light and refreshing salad. The langoustine was super fresh and sweet. It paired nicely with the frise and citrus dressing. 2) Beef tartare. This was a winner in my book. The tartare itself had truffle oil in it served with yucca chips on the side, avocado and carrot sh’mear. Yum! Entrée– 1) Branzino. Skin was crisp and the fish itself was moist and fresh. Very well cooked and seasoned. It was served with some remaster veggies and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes didn’t wow me but they definitely weren’t bad. Overall a very simple dish but tasty. 2) prosciutto wrapped lamb tenderloin. So I originally ordered this medium rare but it came out well done. That’s a no no for me, but they kindly took it back and brought back the wellness of my liking. This dish is definitely rich. It’s served with a mushroom sauce, marscapone polenta, and some sautéed spinach. The lamb was delicious and moist. The polenta was to die for. So creamy and luscious. The spinach was a tad on the salty side though. Overall, a solid dish Dessert– 1) caramelized pear crêpe. Oh my gawd!!! This was amazing. The crêpe had want seamed like charred sugar on the outside and it was served with pistachio ice cream. An awesome combination. Not painfully sweet like I thought it would be. So good! 2) flourless chocolate cake. If you’re a chocolate lover, this is for you. Served with a crème anglaise. This was also a winner. Very rich and decadent. As a chocolate dessert should be. Overall this place was really good. Like I said, the service was friendly, but not very attentive. It took a while to get my waiter’s attention to tell him about my over cooked meat. Other than that, he rarely came by during out meal to check on us. At least he was nice when he did come, but that’s something that needs to be worked out. Would I come back? Yes! Gotta try the steak next time!

I had a great dinner at Malbec last night. Went with a couple friends and I ordered from the dineLA menu. Ordered a bottle of the Don David Malbec, which was lovely. I started with the roasted beets and burrata with a balsamic reduction that was heavenly. I only wish I had more beets. Then came lamb with polenta and spinach. The polenta and spinach were mediocre but the lamb was tender and delicious! Finally I spilt the flourless chocolate cake that was yummy but not that memorable. All in all I had a good meal, great service, lovely ambiance. I will most definitely be back.

What can I say about Malbec, it’s amazing… From the chicken and cheese empandas to the main entrée of skirt steak with roasted potatoes everything on the menu is amazing. We also ordered the sangria that was amazingly balanced and enough for a party of four. As far as sides go the French fries and creamed broccoli were also delicious and was definitely enough for all of us to enjoy. Overall the experience was great and no one at the table had anything negative to say. Aside from being a bit on the pricey side Malbec was a great dining experience that you will continue to remember long after your gone.

Came to lunch with my other BFF. Really enjoyed my salmon pasta except that it was a bit more saucy than I would’ve liked. The restaurant itself is very nice with nice ambiance and great service. This location is not much different as the Pasadena location as far as ambiance, service and food quality. Parking is on the street. Can be slightly difficult in crowded Toluca Lake restaurant row.

My friend wanted to eat here for her birthday and I love argentinean food, but this place was just ok for me… I like LALA’s better(and less expensive) We shared the empanadas to begin with spinach and beef and they did not blow me away… The dip that came with the bread was amazing though I used it on everything lol. My friend had the paella which she liked and I had the skirt steak which was flavorful but VERY chewy… My friend had 2 glasses of red wine at 16. dollars each?! Then we had the dulce de leche crepes for dessert and that was really good… We opted to sit outside since it wasn’t hot because the inside of the restaurant is wayyy toooooo dark! You can’t see anything in there and the patio once the sun went down was kinda dark too… The place needs more lighting for sure… It’s in a busy area in Toluca Lake across from Trader Joe’s so parking is tough and the Valet is 5.50! So, for the bill to be over $ 100 and it’s not fine dining is too expensive for just ok food.

This is a nice spot for an easy dinner with a mass selection of wines. I came during lunch time and booked a group reservation for a party of 7 from online and upon arrival, our table was set up and ready to go. We were fortunate enough that the place was sort of empty, making our experience pleasant and quiet. So I’m a huge fan of meat, so my entrée of choice was quite simple. I ordered the Entrana de Chimichurri(10 oz skirt steak with grilled veggies) medium rare. My steak was very good, cooked to perfection. They listened to my medium rare request and I loved how my steak had a little bit of blood oozing out of it. The others in our party really enjoyed their entrees which included the salmon salad, seafood pasta, etc. I was super happy of making that right choice to come back here. This place never disappoints. Even though we were full, we still had room for dessert. I ordered Copa Helada which was their three flavor ice cream — chocolate, strawberry sorbet and vanilla bean. The others ordered the flan al caramel and budin de pan and I saw nothing but happy faces. The only thing I do recommend is better service. I was a little disappointed with their lack of attentiveness considering that the place was not busy at all. But… because everyone enjoyed their food, the lack of service was forgiven.
