Americinn Motel

Very clean hotel. Carpets look new. The hot tub could be warmer and breakfast warmer too. Limited but sufficient as stated before. I’ll stay again

You book at an Americinn and you generally know what kind of experience you’re going to have. And so it was for me in Tomah. Friendly staff, quiet rooms, decent beds, a better breakfast offering than I usually find in Americinns… five-​star it ain’t, but what this Americinn does, it does well.
The only weirdness I ran across was this: the hotel sells soft drinks, as do most others. Instead of a vending machine, though, they have a small sliding-​door cooler with cans of soda. This, in and of itself, is not a problem — what was weird was that they had NO diet soda of any kind. Everything they had had sugar. Seriously, this is the first time I’ve had to make this sort of observation. (And they apparently did not restock the cooler overnight, since the same selection was there the next morning.)
Offsetting this — Anna the evening desk clerk saved me from looking like a dork in front of the family :-) My wife and I like visiting supper clubs, and we had a strong recommendation for a local club. Anna asked if we had any specific dinner plans and I mentioned I had a place in mind… she gave me a strange look and mentioned that I probably didn’t want to eat there because they closed a month ago. With this information in hand, I let my family know I was changing plans, spent some quality time on Unilocal to find an alternative, and found a decent alternative in town. ( Unilocalers rule — thank you all!) This is the kind of knowledge that hotel front-​desk staff should keep current on – saves their clients from unpleasant surprises. Anna should get a bonus :-)
Anyway, the Tomah Americinn is a nice inexpensive place to stay, and the people who work there work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again next time we pass through.

We chose this hotel because the front-​desk staff was friendly on the phone Very clean. We were very glad that they take dogs, as we are moving and have our little Polly with us. They were very very nice about letting me keep my medicine in the fridge
The tissue box wasn’t full, but otherwise the room was fine. Mattress a little hard. Could I suggest a non sweetened cereal choice for the breakfast spread ?
Would highly recommend as a basic overnight possibility.

Nice place, very clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was small but everything was fresh and the breakfast area was nice and clean. One recomendation would be to get some real cream for the coffee. The powder stuff doesn’t cut it.
Rooms were clean and quite. The housekeeping staff did a very good job. The lobby area was very warm, comfortable and homey! Over all I had a very nice stay and would stay here again.
