I really see what all the raving is about since my St. Louis rack of ribs was large enough to feed a family. Two parents and their children perhaps. Love the fact that the chef and owner has time to personally talk to his customers and ask how everything is. Next time it would be great to tip back a cold beer too. Thanks for making Tomah a better stop on I94 than just fast food and gas. Now its for yummy food.

This is a really cool place! It’s low key and not crowded, a little off the beaten path and has great BBQ. I tried one of the combos and really enjoyed the pulled pork. The sauces were all really good, but I’d really like to see a vinegar based moping sauce. You order at the counter and the food comes out really fast. The cleanliness of the restaurant and promptness of service is outstanding. I’ll definitely visit this place again next time I’m in town.

We stopped for dinner on our way home to Minneapolis from Chicago and wanted something different than the typical fast food. After seeing the reviews we decided to try this place. The idea behind this place is to keep it simple and make it quality. They have succeeded in both goals! The atmosphere is very nice with the«soft industrial» feel of corrugated metal and wood. The menu is kept simple and down to their smoked meats and amazing side dishes. In our party of four, we had pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with a variety of side dishes. The meat and the BBQ sauces were amazing! The other big hits were the baked beans and corn muffin. Even the buns they use for the sandwiches were amazingly yummy! Their green beans must be good too because they were gone by the time we got there close to closing. And we heard of others raving about the peach cobbler! The owner, Darren, stopped by our table to see how long we had been waiting for our food(maybe 5 – 7 minutes) – he had come in from his house after watching the employees moving a little slow on his camera and wanted to get things moving. He has crazy credentials for being a BBQ champion and has been in various contests around the country. He chatted with us for at least a half hour. This place is his pride and joy and you can tell he really cares about his product, customers and employees and doesn’t want to compromise. We were so impressed that I decided to do my first ever Unilocal!Review. I hope he expands and keeps the heart of his business in all his restaurants – we told him he needs to open one in the SW suburbs of Minneapolis. We wish BP(Darren) all the best in his business! We may drive out to Tomah one day just for lunch or dinner! Thanks for making our long trip enjoyable and sharing some of your smoking secrets!

Loved the ribs, the corn muffins!!! They have a wow factor. If you leave without eating a corn muffin, then you missed out. I had to take some with me they were so good. Meat was very tender, sauces were blended well, with several varieties to choose from, and the bratwurst… delicious! The place itself is small, but has a very comfy feel, superbly clean, and the bathrooms were super clean too. My moto is, if the bathrooms are clean, then the kitchen is more than likely clean too. You wont be disappointed with the service either. Very prompt, fast service, with a visit from the wonderful owner, who i might add, kept me amused. This place will definately get my business again.

Stopped in early on a Saturday night. The ribs were excellent, along with the beans and cornbread. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. I’d give them a 9 out of 10 if that’s how it broke down. it ain’t fancy dining, but the food is excellent and the service was quick. WAY, WAY better than any fast food in the area.

Very impressed by this place. Very new business it seems, small little building with plenty of seating but no bar. Does a lot of take out. Really enjoyed the full rack of ribs. Super meaty, fall off the bone, good smoke ring and sauce etc. etc. Sides good too. No doubt we will go here again the future.

Well now. On a recent road trip from Minneapolis to Chicago we found this little gem of a BBQ shack just off of 94. It doesn’t look like much from the road but as soon as you walk in the smell sucks you in further. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the brisket. Both were equally yummy. You have an option of getting the combo which includes two sides. My boy loved their collard greens.

A local bbq joint is usually a great find and this is no exception. I usually don’t mention the green beans & bacon, but WOW, really tasty. Pulled pork sand which was good flavor. Pile on a bit more meat & I’d give you five stars. Nice clean facility with size able covered & heated patio.

I just ordered from BP barbecue in Tomah Wisconsin. Half a slab of ribs half a pound of brisket half a pound of pulled pork, and the ribs were good except for not a nuff seasoning, the pulled pork was like it was baked no smoke ring, the brisket was like it was baked no smoke ring, my potato salad was hot instead of cold, and beans the meat needed to be cut up better! Not Werth the $ 40bucks, And I’m sure they make good sandwich’s. And I’ve have sampled No.2 in the nation ribs before!

Great BBQ. Excellant value and friendly family service. Had pulled pork and chopped brisket combos. Sides were beans slaw potato salad and green beans with fixins. All were excellent. Nice décor, smoke shack style with blues music playing. Covered patio would be great option on warmer days. Avoid the chain locations and check out local option. This place is behind the post office a block off the main drag. If busy park on street, lot is kida funky.

Maybe it’s the location, or maybe it’s the ambiance, or maybe it’s the food, but this is quickly becoming a favorite when I’m in the area. I got the two meat combo, with pulled pork and chopped brisket. It comes with two sides, which were potato salad and coleslaw. The combo shocked me. Why? Because unlike the usual two meats, this came with two giant sandwiches! Even more surprising, they were both very good. The pork was definitively smoky, with a great flavor. The brisket was thick, chopped properly, and had a beautiful texture. The sides weren’t quite as exciting, but I couldn’t really say they were disappointing. Very run of the mill honestly. I didn’t grab the ribs, as I was too full, but I probably should have. They looked great. Definitely a great place to stop by if you’re anywhere nearby.

Although the address listed here is wrong, it was WELLWORTH the search! Absolutely delicious pulled pork, coleslaw, and corn on the cob. Also very friendly folks! Sat out at a picnic table with the pups and enjoyed the whole vibe.

First off, there were two different addresses to be found for this place. The Facebook and Google address took us to a residential neighborhood with no BBQ. 201 Larkin was the correct address. Cliffs: Decent BBQ, probably very good for Nowhere, Wisconsin. Store bought tasting sides. Sandwiches are pretty good, but far from great. This BBQ joint is located pretty much all by itself, tucked away from the main road, with very little visibility from the highway. I’m glad we found it, though. We arrived about an hour before close on a Saturday night, and were told that the ribs were sold out, leaving only the sandwich options available. Those options were pulled pork, chopped beef brisket, pulled chicken, and smoked brats. The side options were baked beans, «sidewinder fries», green beans, potato salad, and another that slips my mind. We had several people in the party, and between the four of us, we ordered all the meat options. The pork and brisket were both very good, and very tender, if not a bit on the dry side. The brisket had very little fat and gristle on it. The chicken was very dry. The smoked brats were surprisingly good. The texture was pretty soft, and there was no «snap», but that’s due to the smoking, I’m sure. The sides were very bland. We sampled the baked beans, green beans, potato salad, and fries. The fries were pleasant, although only half of them were crispy. Both bean options and the potato salad, however, tasted like«doctored up» versions of canned options. The service was quick and friendly. I would probably venture back, if in the area again, because there are very few other options around.
