I went to another Pearle Vision on Hwy 6 and had a horrible experience, thus I was hesitant to try this one. However, I decided to give Pearle another try. I needed to get a new pair of glasses and they assured me they took my insurance. Their website even jokingly says, «We speak fluent insurance.» I have worked in ophthalmology for many years, so I have an idea about vision insurance and how it works. I made my appointment for the same day that I called. A few minutes later, the receptionist called me back. She told me they did NOT take my insurance, claiming they were a franchise(Of course they are! Every Pearle is!), thus I would have to pay for my exam and glasses out of pocket, which is total BS. I believe they just didn’t want to take my insurance because it’s a hassle getting payment and insurance doesn’t pay as much as the patient does out of pocket. I went to Vision Works, where they took my insurance and gave me excellent service. No more Pearle for me.

To say I was upset with this Pearle Vision was putting it mildly. In January I broke my glasses and since I was close to needing an eye exam, I called my regular eye doctor. He wasn’t able to see me for 3+ weeks so I went to a Pearle Vision near where my husband works. I had my exam and planned to have my lenses made at my regular doctor, but somehow I ended up ordering them there. It wasn’t overly high pressure and I didn’t feel uncomfortable. I decided to try the Transitions lenses since they seemed to be better than they were before, and they told me it would take an extra week. Imagine my surprise when they called me just a week later to tell me that my glasses were ready. I called and Clayton, the branch owner, told me that was a mistake and they’d have to order them again, but it shouldn’t affect the overall time table. I waited that week and then another just in case. No word, so I called yesterday. I got kind of a runaround and then called Clayton again, who told me that his wife was pregnant and things kind of got messed up. Then it changed to there was a scratch on the lenses and they had to go back. Bottom line was that yesterday, nothing at all had been done, no Transitions, No RX. THEN I was told that if they could get the lenses to their lab on Friday morning, they would send someone there to get them and I could have them late on Friday. Only problem was that we are leaving early Friday to go to D.C. to visit our daughter. At that point, I requested a refund… and was told that he would think on it. This morning, my husband stopped by their office, and they did provide a refund, which makes me very happy. Now I just need to find a place to get my broken glasses repaired! Everyone at this store was nice, but I can’t in good conscience recommend that anyone use them unless they are aware that there may be a problem with delivery. Had they only re-ordered the lenses when they said they would, this could have been avoided

I was sorely disappointed the last time I went in. I may as well have been in a bar, the way one employee was talking; slurring her words, calling another employee’s son a crackhead(this very young employee’s son couldn’t have been more than 5 years old), and saying«hell» here and there, all within the hearing of customers. I was appalled. I have had okay experiences here before, never being an actual customer but accompanying my friend who was one. I don’t know what happened. It was shocking to hear an employee talk as if she were ordering up. Went to Berkeley in Tomball and was very satisfied there. Giving two stars for the service I’ve had in the past.
