it’s not that I’m spoiled by the comfy seats and leg room at AMC Freehold but you should never go to another«old school» movie theatre after experiencing that comfort. This AMC could be better. After we collected our tickets from the one Fandango machine(why do people stand waiting for tickets anymore?) we walked straight into the valley of «which way do we go?» There was no one waiting to take our tickets and tell us which hallway our movie was being shown. I know I’m an adult who can read but it was sorta strange. The seats are hard, uncomfy and the leg room is terrible. I think I’d be worried about getting a blood clot in my legs if I had to sit through a 2+ hour movie here. The place is clean, it just needs updated. Maybe rethink the $ 5 charge for a bottle of water.

Please disregard all bad reviews that were written before my review, since theirs aren’t true. I like this AMC a lot. Every summer, my family and I see a movie on a rainy or really hot day when we go down the shore. I love the lack of stadium seating! It is retro and almost one-of-a-kind these days. Additionally, The lobby’s ceiling is classic, with the mirrored tile and small globe lights. The concession stand is small, but it works for the location. Good popcorn and Coke. That’s what counts. The theaters have great screens and good sound. As I said before, no stadium seating, so it’s unique. I totally recommend this theater to anyone who wants to see a movie down the shore.

Kind of run-down and out of date, but cheaper price than average. Plays some artier films, which can be hard to come by out here in the deep ‘burbs.

Concession stands could use some help. Customer ahead of me was dithering on choices and line was building up. Another person was putting the order together instead of helping with the line. When another cashier finally came over, she helped the person behind me rather than me. I did state I was next but was ignored. Just makes me cranky.

Didn’t approve of it back then, don’t approve of it now. One would think the AMC acquisition would make this place better but nope. Same shit. Packed with teenagers… Old and decrepit… Some theaters have been redone where screens are updated and the sound is well. Otherwise they look like they haven’t been changed since the 80s. The lack of stadium seating makes the screens hard to see on a crowded day too. Would much rather go to Marquee down 37. Not too packed and the theaters are awesome.

This is my family’s go to theatre when we are down the shore. It always has a great selection of the newest movies and are open pretty late. It’s usually very clean and the staff is nice. It is your typical AMC theatre with expensive candy/popcorn/drink options. I would eat beforehand otherwise expect to spend close to $ 30 on food and drinks alone. Overall, I enjoy coming to this theatre. I would recommend it to anyone.

Previous bad reviews should be disregarded as my experience was just fine. If you need fancy lobbies then go elsewhere otherwise large screen clean and great sound.

So i have read the reviews before mine and i have to say that i agree with them for the most part however my experience differed slightly. I grew up in the area so yeah, i used to be part of the obnoxious teen crowed hanging at the movies on Friday nights as the previews reviews have mentioned. I mean, can you really get mad about that, what else would you expect. Anyhow, if you want to go see a movie, check it out during the day time or a night other than«teen» night lol. The appearance or presentation of the theater is pretty trashy and out dated but hey, we live in a tough economy so deal with it lol you are sitting in the dark the whole time anyway so what does it matter how the walls or carpet looks like right? Now for the main reason you go to the movies, to see a big screen picture. Honestly, i have not been to this theater in several years but i gotta say, the sound quality was OUTSTANDING and the picture was extra clear! I was thoroughly impressed with the digital sounds quality, that has to be by far the most powerful digital sound presentation i have experienced in a long time.(oh i saw the new 2012 Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruse, not a bad flick) Overall, its a place to go watch a movie, catch the movie a little early on the weekends to avoid the mob of teens and you’ll be in the clear of all that mess. I am sure they have fixed any leak they might have had and if you are complain because the power went out during a storm, lets be a little more logical here. What, power has never gone off in your own home during a storm? Exactly. I went to the movies here during one REALLYHOTSUMMER where there have been blackouts bc everyone and their dead grad parents had their ACs on MAX. yeah, we lost power but so did half the state! lol catch my drift? Well, thats all i gotta say. Its a movie theater, go watch a movie and enjoy company!

This place sucks to see a movie. It’s OLD, overpriced, and over crowded. While the projectors have been updated in some theaters not all have digital projectors and the sound is somewhat limited. We were seeing Transformers 3 and a thunderstorm was going through the area at the time. The power flickered in the theaters knocking out the movie and leading to a 20 minute delay in restart. While we were waiting on the restart, the ceiling began leaking INTHETHEATER!!! This lead to a lot of angry patrons and NOMANAGER to be found(besides some pimple faced kids who could care less).

This theater is well… Not good. On a Friday night its packed… with«scenester» teenagers so be prepared to get angry. It has a strange aroma with in the wall of this building, its not the good kind of strange. The theaters are crowed and your bound to have some ones big head in your way. The lobby is filled with games so all the teenagers flock to the lobby and it gets crowded fast and its extremely loud and annoying. I only return to this house of terror when other theaters aren’t showing a particular movie I wanted to see. FYI: Its now owned by AMC.
