love the cluck you in redbank, so when I found out there was one in toms river I was thrilled. still 25 minutes from Jackson, but closer than redbank. went last week, had 10 boneless buffalo wings, fries, and soda… about 13 bucks. not cheap, but worth every cent. nobody does boneless wings like cluck u. next up I want to try the 12.99 all you can eat wings(not boneless) special they have on Wednesday. they look awesome. there open till 3am on Friday and was clean, and good service. can’t wait to go back!

Let me start by saying I love chicken. Now let me state I hated the chicken here. Now crispy chicken is one thing, but when it is so crispy it crumbles in your hands that is another. It is way overcooked. It crumbles when you touch it and forget about trying to bite into it. It just falls apart and not in a good way. It just crumbles. Also the pieces were all breading/skin and hardly any meat. I had trouble finding the actual chicken meat. When I did find it the taste was not very good. I will not be going back there ever.

Ordered last night and pleasantly surprised. We ordered the family combo with 12 pieces of chicken and 4 sides for only 26 dollars. The food was great and we have leftovers for at least two more meals. They told us delivery would be 45 minutes-1 hour but it came within 30 minutes while it was snowing outside. We don’t eat fried chicken often but far better than the chicken from KFC that’s for sure.

The food is great, don’t get me wrong. But since when did they change to have a $ 15 minimum delivery? Never in my life have I heard of that steep of delivery charge. $ 10 at most, which for pizza places is covered easily. After today, my business is lost due to this, unless I randomly drive out 30 minutes to get to you guys. Sorry

I’ve always enjoyed Cluck U! I’ve patronized quite a few of their locations. So, I was happy to see a menu in my mailbox. The TR location didn’t disappoint. Between DH& I we ordered the Boneless wings, wingers, ribs, coke slaw & Mac & Cheese. Everything taste great. I was especially happy with the wings. Especially since I really only like the flats(not a fan of the drumstick). I ask for mostly the flats & the employee suggested that I could have all FLATS, which I was very happy about. I also like my wings fried well done & extra saucy. I called back to emphasize the well done part, but neglected to mention the extra sauce. Well, My wings arrived perfectly cooked & «extra saucy» LOL just like I like them. Being new to the TR area, I am still trying new places and having moved here from the City I have to say the my choices are few and far between, but Cluck U is an awesome find.

I love their chicken. Head and shoulders above KFC. Fries and cole slaw are great too. Something on the menu for everyone… ribs, burgers, fish, wraps, & salads. A different special every night. Staff is friendly and they deliver! Parking can be a pain on Friday nights because of the close proximity to a Schiano’s Pizza and the Miracle Bar/liquor store. I’m so happy to have a great local chicken place again.

I’ve been going to Cluck U since the 90’s, the original location in New Brunswick. This location doesn’t disappoint. Friendly people. They carry every sauce. Some locations only have 2 or 3. They’re great on fries. I’ve tried every sauce including a bunch you cannot get on the menu anymore. Garlic and cheese is always one I come back to. My only complaint is their menu says Homemade Stuffing, but I saw them carrying in a case of Stove Top. Boo!

This a relatively new place in Toms River, and trust me we desperately needed a solid fried chicken joint. Where to start… First, the good stuff. I am a Cluck U fan from way way back in my college days. We had a Cluck U near campus, and if you weren’t in the mood for a Fat Sandwich from the Grease Trucks, Cluck U was usually the next suggestion. The food is great — various iterations of fried chicken, all kinds of nuggets, chicken strips, poppers, all with miscellaneous sauces, and a great selection of sides. Pure, unadulterated comfort food at its finest, and some of the best chicken you can hope to get your greasy fingers on. Yeah, its still pretty darn good, same as it was in college. Now, the not so good stuff. The staff here seems to be a bunch of the same college kids that somehow got magically transported forward in time 10 years. Goofing around behind the counter, not paying attention to customers, messing up orders, roaring around in the parking lot with the Cluck U signs on their cars… just generally unprofessional/annoying behavior. This is by far the worst facet of the new location. I understand that Cluck U may have been born near college campuses, but lets ditch the college behavior. God, I sound old. I like the location of the restaurant, and delivery options are always nice. The décor is very college-esque as well, with funny corporate Cluck U chicken-related imagery tacked up all over the place. It’s entertaining to look at while you wait, and they have an arcade game cabinet there too, which is a nice touch. Guys, you have a great formula for success here. If you could just bring in a couple of competent managers and get the staff running like a well-oiled(professional) machine, this place could be something special.

Terrible chicken, sides are frozen than microwaved. Never again.

We have been looking forward to going here for a few weeks now and after tonight I don’t believe I will be going back. When we walked in the staff was to busy in the back cursing at each other to see us. When they final came over it wasn’t to help us with the menu or tell us about specials it was ready to order no ok no let’s play around some more. After ordering some food we walked around inside and the floor was sticky and very dirty. We noticed a wall of fame and even that had curse words all over it. The food was very tasty and if it wasn’t for being a dirty place with untrained staff I would go back but they lost me after the first trip in the door.

Great fried chicken, and I enjoy having many options to choose from for my side. I chose the mashed potatoes and gravy, but would definitely choose the fries next time. The reason for three stars is their sauces — ranch, honey mustard, not their hot sauces — are just downright bad. The honey mustard has a candy like taste to it and their ranch was very meh. Overall, I’d recommend Cluck U for their amazing chicken tenders and various hot sauces.

Cluck U is slipping. I wanted the boneless they have me bones. Got Mac and cheese no fork. And most importantly no napkins

Fairly new spot not far from my girlfriend’s place. Been trying to get here for a few weeks, but just haven’t had the chance. We went a little later than normal, probably about 9pm. There was only one other couple eating and we were just grabbing take out. The eat in section was clean, just basically bare bones, but this isn’t a sports bar. I’m not looking for crazy tv’s and stuff. Although they do have contests of who can eat their hottest wings and who can eat the most wings in an hour… another time perhaps. We got a few things to try out. I got a Cajun BBQ Tex Mex wrap. It was very tasty. The sauce was flavorful and it was in a whole wheat wrap with beans and brown rice. It was also a nice size. Grabbed some garlic Parmesan boneless wings too. They were pretty big, more like chicken strips, but really delicious. I was surprised how much of a kick the sauce had. I know it was further up on the scale, but I just didn’t expect it from a garlic/parm. I also got a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. They were ok, the potatoes had a bit of skin still in there, kind of a surprise, but not awful just ok. Overall the food was really good. The plus is that this place is open late, so I can grab that late night drunk snack if need be.
