Decent for all your can eat sushi. Lunch only includes rolls and not nigiri. I personally think dinner is a better deal but only because I like nigiri better than rolls.

I went there a few days ago and they have changed a lot. The first order of sushi is generally good, except the sushi pieces were all rice and almost no fish. Then, on the second plate of fish, they really skimped on the fish. In rolls like a spicy/crunchy tuna roll, they loaded up the roll with almost all crunchy stuff and hardly any fish. I suppose they are really trying to save money here. I won’t be going back

Well, after a year where the quality went up. It dropped down like crazy. It used to be much better than it is. Now the sushi is fairly tasteless and the fish is always cut crazy small. Unfortunately, the whole menu really took a hit and it’s really not worth going anymore.

I went there for the lunch special all you can eat sushi. I gotta say, I was disappointed. The sushi barely, literally barely had any fish in or on them. I’m talking slivers of fish that you could probably pick up and see through. Also there is no Sashimi on the lunch menu. I can’t imagine I’d come back. I felt ripped off and to add insult to injury they add a service charge on your order on top of the normal bill.

Not bad. Place looks run down on the outside but its really nice inside. We came in around closing time so I assume if we came earlier our food would have been made with more love but overall not bad. I noticed they had a good amount of weekend specials and they gave us a discount on our meal.

I thought the sushi was good. My question is the«service charge». Do you tip on top of that? When I asked the server if he got that as his tip he said«not really» so I tipped $ 10. I certainly wouldn’t have given that on top of the service charge if they in fact got the as a tip which was $ 8.95. So if they do get it, that dude got an $ 18 tip.

first &LAST time ever getting food here! just recently moved into TR& Sushi X is not to far from our new place. so i stopped in for take out, prices seemed fair. ok, fast forward… my boyfriend & i both ordered the exact same thing(Chicken & broccoli w/fried rice) he gets ¾ threw his meal, then low & held their is a 3″ piece of jet back hair in the bottom of his take out container.!! he called up the restaurant & complained, they offered to give him something else(um hell no!) after i ate most of my sushi which was ok, i’ve had better. i took a bite of the chicken & it was absolutely beyond disgusting! the chicken was so blah & had zero flavor, the sauce they used was just flat out gross. needless to say, i just dumped $ 30 worth of food in the garbage!

The food here is very good for a sushi place in a shopping center. The atmosphere is nice(though I do think they should lower the lights a bit to add a little ambiance). Our server was very nice, and when I told her I was a vegetarian she was informative of what I could and couldn’t eat. Food wasn’t amazing, but was good. My boyfriend loved his Kani salad, but his crab tempura definitely needed to be cooked longer. My mango and avocado roll was very good, and something different. I also ordered tofu, which again, needed to be cooked longer and be crispier, but had a nice flavor. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely come back.

Sushi here is OK. Went here for a friend’s birthday. I had three rolls instead of the all you can eat and it was a good time. Yeah, they put a service charge on the bill at the end. Keep that in mind.

First I would like to say that the sushi here is very good. My rating goes down because of the«service charge»…I.e. the tip is forced on you. You are told how much you are going to give for the privilige of eating here. The service charge has gone up since I was here last from 15% to 18%. Kind of feel insulted that I MUST tip. Thought tips were a show of gratitude for exemplary service, not a reason to jack up the price of your all you can eat meal from your advertising. Wonder if it’s fraudulant practice being done here. May not return because of this. Good sushi can be found in many other places for fairly advertised price.

The sushi was good and the service was great. The only thing I don’t like is that there is a service charge added. I would have given a bigger tip than the service charge however I like to make the decision whether or not and how much I am going to tip.

Had quite a few people recommend this place and boy were we disappointed! The guy who sat us had no skills what so ever. Not a Hi or explanation of what to expect nothing. The décor is disturbing, very distracting and I wouldn’t believed the other poster about the uncensored club music, until I heard it. The wife wouldn’t even finish her rolls after a bite or two. She said it was no better than Shop Rite! I didn’t think it was that bad, but you definitely can do better elsewhere. They also automatically add a service charge and tip.

Such a disappointment! If the staff would be friendlier,(ie. not make you feel like they are doing you the favor of the century by serving you.) and the fish would be of a decent grade, my longstanding dream of a good local sushi place would have been fulfilled! Oh well, I’ll just keep dreaming.

This was one of the best deals on sushi I have ever seen. I read some of the other reviews and wonder where they ate. The staff was friendly. The sushi was well priced and delicious. It was also all you can eat! I would recommend you try this place if you are in the area.

Sushi x is a great place for large groups or a romantic dinner with you gal. The price for dinner is well worth what you can get fresh fish and very awesome service each dish looks like a work of art. The atmosphere is great nice enviroment and you can sit with your sweetheart or sit with a large group. Excellent place and food

Let me start with the positive. The food is good. It is fresh and ample. The negatives: 1– Very pricy for what you get. Weekends are 22.95 a person, even on a Sunday afternoon. 2– Inappropriate music. They were playing modern day dance music and some songs were not the clean version. 3– The service was less than friendly. I felt like I was keeping the staff away from more important things to do, yet we were the only people there for quite some time. 4– 17% service charge for 3 people. I guess that explains the poor service. If they don’t have to work for a tip, why be friendly? There are so many good sushi places in Toms River, why spend that much money for bad service when you can spend half the price and get great service for the same quality of food.

I went again the other day, this time for their lunch special instead of dinner. My last visit was great, good service, good portions, and tasty sushi. To my dismay, this time was not as great as I would have expected like my dinner. The price was 14 dollars for lunch, which is not bad but they only gave one menu instead which is heavily modified for the lunch. Basically it was a stripped down version of the actual dinner menu. I understand the business has to make money and remove the larger/meatier rolls to make money. But I mean comon’, serving me a a roll of sushi that had thin paper slices of tuna and salmon. I didn’t even know that the tuna and salmon could be cut so thin, it was almost like paper. In fact the rolls that I had ordered were mostly rice and cucumbers… and even the eel in the eel roll was no where to be found, and resembled the smaller slices of cucumber. If I were to break down the composition of a sushi roll during lunch here it would consist of 45% rice, 45% vegetables, and 10% actual raw fish ingredients. Quite disappointing to see after such a good dinner here last time. I just felt like I was being robbed because if I wanted rice and vegetables, I would have made it myself for one sixth of the price…

I very rarely give places one star, but this place is so gross, and I don’t use that word lightly. If you can smell the fish — you already know it’s bad. When you taste it — you’ll know what I’m talking about. I was excited to see they offered pieces of sushi. I have been to plenty all you can eat sushi places, including Sushi Palace in Princeton and Middletown, as well as Masa in Princeton. When I ordered tuna sushi there, it was REAL tuna. I have uploaded a picture of my tuna from tonight, you tell me if it’s real tuna… and if it is(which I’m not sure of by the horrid taste in my mouth) it is the lowest quality you can absolutely get. I understand it’s all you can eat sushi and you get what you pay for, but this is bottom of the barrel.

This place is pretty awesome. The inside decoration is pretty great too. Looks brand new, even had tv to watch. The sushi on the menu is typical at a sushi buffet and at a reasonable price. They made their appetizers really fresh. My shrimp tempura was really crispy: D

Very tasty… We had the all you can eat sushi. I really enjoyed it. For 13.95, you receive a list of different things to eat. I enjoyed everything. It’s byob so everyone wins! The music was really funky!
