I had the large beef phở and it was delicious. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu.

This restaurant if your generous and would like to call it that, was less than par. Being Vietnamese and eating at this restaurant made me disappointed. The two friends I brought along also didn’t enjoy their food. Their giò la did not please me at all. A simple Phò dish was destroyed, by the simple fact of not having the proper silverware or cilantro. Phò is a staple in Vietnamese cuisine, known as the dish of «the common people», not common enough I suppose. My friend ordered the«Ginger Chicken», where it lacked in the latter. Barely any chicken was on the plate. Terrible, I will not be coming back anytime soon.

Very friendly staff, they pulled us in as we were going to another restaurant in the same plaza. Have the spring rolls, they are very tasty. I wish I liked this cuisine more, it was a very nice place. No atmosphere however, great place for take out.

Admittedly, my knowledge of authentic Vietnamese cuisine isn’t extensive. However, I’ve had the tofu phở numerous times, the tofu dish off the vegetarian menu and the tofu spring rolls. each time I have been very happy with the flavor. The spice in the phở was awesome, and the sauce for the tofu dish was pretty bangin.’ Spring rolls were just decent. The portions are borderline huge, at least for he phở, so I’m a little confused as to how someone could say they were too small. And each time the place is pretty crowded so they must be doing something right I’ll continue to dine here and hope they stay around! I love some spice in Toms River.

Food is authentic and well– prepared, although not the best I’ve had in terms of the«yum» aka umami factor. May have a lot to do with the ingredients are not fresh as their contemporaries would have more easily available in NYC, for instance. Service depends on who they have manning the front. There is the young man who is good and friendly, and then there is the older Vietnamese man who impatiently hovers while you figure out your order, and then looks irritated if you ask for anything. Very near me though, so there’s that.

I come back here for their soup and BBQ Pork chop. They are to die for. Some items on the menu are just average. I wish they also serve bubble teas.

Ok. Went back here recently. We ordered the phở and pork chop rice dish, perhaps the two most popular dishes in VN cuisines. The rice dish was good but hardly any rice on the plate. The phở, once again, disappoints. I was not going to come back here after my first review, when the place opened last year, but had to see if anything changed since then. I think the portion got even smaller than last year for the phở. And don’t even look for the beef because it’s not there to be found. I feel like yelling out«Where’s the Beef!» «Where’s the Beef!» But let’s not bring back the 80’s Wendy’s commercial. My suggestion for all phở lovers in Ocean County, if you ever visit Philly, go to a place called Phở 75 on 11th and Washington Ave. or Xe Lua on 9th and Race St. Once you eat there you’ll understand what VN food supposed to be like… cheap, huge portion, good value, good food. All VN food should be cheap, at most, reasonable. When a place like this charges $ 10 for half a bowl with hardly any beef in it… it’s extremely disappointing. I’ve given them a year since they opened to change and again they disappointed me. I will not be back. Would rather drive two hours to Philly to satisfy my belly. They can fool all the White people who know nothing about VN food but trust me No VN will eat here.

It smells delicious as soon as you walk in. Very clean. Waiter suggested an assorted appetizer to start. The shrimp spring rolls were okay, the mini egg rolls were good but table voted the calamari to be the best. Had various Phở’s and all were very good. Can’t wait to go back. BYOB.

I had the fresh chicken spring roll as an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS. It is not friend but wrapped in a thin rice paper and stuffed with fresh lettuce, bean sprouts and chicken or shrimp. Then I had a veggie noodle soup with a side of BBQ chicken. Delicious. Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant in Toms River.

They don’t have the bahn mi sandwiches on their paper menu so ask to look at their bigger menu. I got their bbq

Pretty damned good authentic Vietnamese, and I don’t need to schlep all the way up to Edison? Sign me up. Amusingly generic name aside, Vietnamese Cuisine was actually pretty impressive. As of this review, the restaurant has only been open 2 – 3 weeks. Tables were kept nice and clean, the servers & owner were very friendly, and the atmosphere wasn’t overdone with kitsch. Pretty much the epitome of «small, family owned startup restaurant». Another amusing bit was that throughout the course of our meal, the restaurant’s background music of choice was a sampling of 80’s power ballads, pop rock, and the dulcet tones of Bön Jovi. I ordered my favorite phở(bo vien), which came out rather quickly and with the traditional accompaniments of basil, bean sprouts, and jalapenos. although I would have liked to see a lime or two on the plate. No matter though, the broth was fantastic all the same, and the tables all have bottles of hoisin, sriracha, fish sauce, and a homemade pepper sauce on them, if you so desire. Since I didn’t see it on the menu, I asked if I could get an avocado shake for my beverage. Much to my delight, they did indeed have the stuff to make one, and it came out perfectly. The only downside I can think of is a relatively minor one. It was about 90 degrees outside when I went, and I kind of wish they turned the AC up a bit. It felt like ~78 in there, making me a bit warm as I ate my hot phở soup. Still, it was a very enjoyable meal, and I look forward to coming back to try their other dishes. It’s nice to see Ocean county finally getting some decent ethnic restaurants, and not the usual chain food /burger joint garbage.
