Went looking for an rv today and found a nice selection here at Colton’s. Have not purchased yet but I will and when I do it will be here.

We detoured 165 miles to visit Colton RV because the manufacturer of our malfunctioning satellite dish(KVH) listed them as a place that could provide service and repair. We only made the detour after speaking to someone in service, who said they could make a service call and then took our number with the promise to call back. The phone remained silent during the entire 165-mile trip. After getting settled in a nearby RV park, we called again. A different person sloughed us off, once again, onto someone else who was unavailable — so leave a message. We did. The business day is now over, and we have heard nothing. Now we are camped someplace we really never wanted to be, and our TV problem is no closer to being resolved. We are full-timers, and finding a competent shop to make repairs always presents a challenge. In the three years we have been traveling, we have had our share of problems where repairs were required. Most places seem to do a pretty decent job, but there are some who either don’t care or just can’t seem to manage. I wonder why any business would throw away an opportunity to do business — it was knocking on the door. Why would they eschew the chance to send a happy customer down the road singing their praises? Why send them away frustrated, with not a single good word to say? If there is a person named Colton involved in this enterprise, I would like to ask them those very questions, but I’d probably have to leave them on voice mail. And I’d never get a call back. So here’s my opinion: Colton RV sucks. The two people with whom I spoke, suck. The two people, who failed to call, really suck. Colton: You won’t get within a hundred feet of my coach. If you can’t even call me back, you probably won’t have what it takes to work on my coach. My recommendation: avoid. Note: I wrote this review on Thursday, August 27 and as of this posting(8÷30÷2015), we still have had no call. I guess you have to beg. Unilocal should have negative stars.

I went to Colton RV with my daughters on a Tuesday afternoon. We had been talking about buying an RV for a little while and looked online to get some ideas of what was out there. We went to Colton to get a hands on look at what we saw online. We went into the store and were greeted pleasantly by the lady at the front desk. This is about where the pleasantly stopped. She tried to find someone there to help show us a few different versions of both class A and class C models. Finally she stopped a salesman named«Greg» and after some persuasion he begrudgingly decided he «had a few minutes to open one up». He took us to a class C in the lot, unlocked it, let us walk in and told us to «close the door when we were done.» Now to be fair I told them we weren’t in the market to buy that day, we simply wanted to get some ideas before the decision of purchasing a house on wheels was made. I know when I purchased our actual house we attended several open houses, did a lot of research, and compared several different options until we found the best option for our family. I think this is something any family with a little bit of common sense would do when making such a large purchase. I believe the same applies to purchasing an RV. We looked at the one model, then walked around the lot looking for Greg for about ten minutes. We finally found him and he opened up two more before disappearing once more with the same«Close the doors after your done.» line from earlier. We were on our way out of there a little later, when my five year old daughter realized she lost her teddy bear in one of the three RV’s. We obviously couldn’t find Greg anywhere so we went to the front desk with the friendly lady. There was an obese blond-haired salesman standing right there and as soon as she turned to asked him to just«run out and unlock the units they went into.» he rolled his eyes and said he was«gonna go on a break.» Finally the lady at the front desk flagged down a manager to open up the RV’s we looked in. I briefly described what had occurred since our arrival there to her and she responded by saying they are«swamped» and«selling tons of RV’s». This was the reason she gave for her staff members lack of performance and lack of customer service. I must not understand the definition of «swamped», because there was only one other couple there the entire time I was on this Tuesday afternoon. This place may have a large volume of RV’s, but the unfriendly approach to customer service, and total lack of any effort to even mask this fact was appalling to me and I certainly don’t anticipate any future sales on my behalf.
