Making our way to SAN diego from VA and looked up this pizza joint and it surely did not disappoint! They make specialty pizzas by the slice if you want and is really yummy! Full bar which is cool and friendly staff!

Stopped in on my way through town at 6pm Saturday, they were not too busy. I had a side Garden salad and single slice of double pepperoni. The salad was really fresh and cold, the pizza came out a minute later and was right out of the oven. Multiple layers of cheese and pepperoni with a thin, crisp, flavorful crust. The under-crust had some real crunch but wasn’t burnt. Job well done! I recommend this place.

Good pizza. Nice décor. Not cheap, but worth it. The slices are huge. The crust is thin and delicious. Good sauce and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. My slice of margherita earned an A from me. I also tried a salad with Asian dressing. I’d probably skip this next time. Two specialty slices, the salad, a beer, and a coke rang up at just over $ 20. If you’re a fan of NY pizza(who isn’t?), give AJ’s a shot if you’re in Topeka.

Normally I only eat pizza when I travel to the East Coast I’m now going to make an exception when I travel to Topeka!

Easily the best pizza in Topeka. I had a slice of the Popeye Pie and a slice of Hot Wing Pie; both were excellent. The staff are efficient — but could be a little more friendly — it doesn’t cost anything to smile — then it would be 5 stars.

Decent pizza, large slices. No complaints but nothing mind blowing.

We were in town from KC for a graduation and stopped to eat here as we prefer non chain places. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The place was very clean, including restrooms. The food was great. My three and five year old loved their salad and pizza. We would eat here again.

The atmosphere is clean, relaxed and NY trendy all over. Good music, good bar selection, baseball game on, and the food was brought out very quickly. Wait staff all friendly, and though the host was new on the register a trainer speedily assisted her. My salad was great, lots of fresh ingredients. Chicken wings were good, needed more sauce and the waitress happily brought out more at no charge(hello buffalo wild wings don’t charge more for your anemically sauced wings). I had the hot wing pie slice… A slice is really two healthy sized slices and big chunks of chicken. Too much pizza sauce too little buffalo sauce in my opinion but good nonetheless. If they had prepared the chicken like buffalo chicken, not regular chicken with buffalo sauce drizzled on it, I would have liked it better. Overall good prices and worth checking out!

The problem with just passing through cities is I can’t come back to a place like this regularly. Pizza was great. Try the John Stamos. Best thing though was the pepperoni brick ordered with the suggestion to add cream cheese. Got another for dessert.

I love the pizza and knots, you can’t go wrong with either, but I actually love their diverse salads even more. SOGOOD!

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Topeka! Too many lame chain restaurants and this is a jewel. The salads are fresh and tasty dressings. The pizza is outstanding and I highly recommend the John Stamos. Crust is delicious and crisp to perfection. Love the beer selection also! The atmosphere is fine and I prefer sitting at the bar for the best service and view.

I have a mixed review for this place. I thought the sauce and toppings were great and the service was fast! I like the NY signage everywhere! On the other hand, I didn’t much care for the dough and the server left a little to be desired. I was the only person in the place, it was 4:00 in the afternoon on a Monday and there were sports on every TV with music in the background. I asked if they could change from music to the TV since my favorite ESPN show was coming on in a few minutes. I was told they only turned to the TV feed for games. Wish I had paid after I ate so I could tell him I don’t tip unless the game is on!

This is a cool bar and authentic NY pizzeria for Topeka!!! Recommended over all main drag corporate. Nice attentive service and delicious pizza. Sauces are remarkably tasty. Great TVs too!

I usually get a #7 calzone, garlic knots and a cherry coke. AJ’s never disappoints, niice atmosphere and always my preferred place to go for calzones in Topeka. Hope the staff and everyone else has a safe and phenomenal new year, 2016! –Godspeed

My husband and I stopped here after a long day of driving and thoroughly enjoyed the customer service, atmosphere, and food. The cashier offered many suggestions and explained the menu/ordering process as we had never been here before. The food was prompt, fresh, and hot(which is so important at a pizza place)! We loved the décor and the fireplace — also loved having secluded seating where we enjoyed having good conversation without having to compete over the noise of other guests and the tvs. The only thing we could complain about is having to pay after ordering – deciding a tip amount before you receive your service or food is tricky.

If you love pizza as much as I do, you must try AJ’s. The garlic knots are incredible and the pizza is fantastic. I always get roasted garlic on my pizza here and they put real cloves of roasted garlic on that make the pizza to die for. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t regret it!

My wife and I went last night as we were driving through Topeka around dinner time. We ordered a pizza called the Big Apple which we thought was good but the crust was a little thick to be a true NY pizza and the mushrooms overpowered everything on the pizza. Not sure if they need to be cooked down a little before throwing on the pizza but we wanted to taste the other ingredients on the pizza. We also shared some buffalo wings which as soon as they came I out I knew they were going to be some good ones. Fried perfectly and covered in sauce where you know you’re getting sauce and flavor on every bite. Overall a great pizza place, probably try a different pizza next time through or by the slice.

I’m a pizza snob. The perfect combination of fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella is as elusive as it is delicious. When I moved to Topeka, I was worried that I was leaving behind some great pizza, but I was consoled through AJ’s. AJ’s is classic NY style pizza. The sauce is garlicky and acidic, with the natural sweetness of the tomatoes developed, but not to the point that the freshness is lost. In terms of cheese, the mozz-parm blend is a perfect compliment to the sauce. The richness of the mozz offsets the salty parm, making my favorite pie a simple cheese pie. Don’t miss this place. It’s well worth your time.

Excellent pizza! Atmosphere is great– what a beautiful bar with dark woods. The pizza crust is thin & crispy — but not that flavorless cracker stuff at other places. Try the pepperoni bricks– they are great! Salads are fresh & packed with stuff!

I liked their pizza. One slice with sides was enough. I liked the cheese bricks, garlic knots and cinnamon knots too. We were here for live trivia on a Thursday. This place is so loud, don’t expect to hear trivia questions very well or have a quiet conversation.
