Loved this place! Great food, friendly service and large portions!!! I had a combo plate with a tamale, enchilada and taco… all pork!!! WOW was it good!!! Great flavor, just the right amount of spice, and did I say large portions already!!! I couldn’t finish my rice and beans there was so much food!!! There was a couple who peered in and saw the sparse crowd. I motioned to them that the food was really good? Did this a couple of times before they finally decided to come in. Last I looked, they were ordering more margaritas!!! Don’t let the beer signs in the window run you off. It’s not a bar, it’s top notch Mexican food!!!

Our party was forced to this spot when all the other Mexican restaurants were packed to the gills on Cinco de Mayo. The food here wasn’t great. I’d much prefer/recommend other Mexican restaurants to this. The look of the place is vibrant and the service was nice(though not prompt, but it was a busy time).

Small place but tasty food. Repurchase top shelf margaritas and two meals for around $ 40. Satisfied with service and overall environment

Great salsa! Great value and great tasting food. But it isn’t consistent. Went for three straight Saturdays and food and drink were different each time. Salsa was too. First time I visited it was outstanding. Upon third visit it was below average. Service was bad each time too.

Located in a mostly empty strip mall, Casa Ramos was easy to miss if it had not been for the large number of cars clustered at that end. Solid Mexican food. I had the Macho Burrito with the shredded beef. I left very full and happy. My friend had the steak Mexicano(spelling?) that was equally good. The salsa was the best part, almost like a blend of Pico and salsa. We finished off several bowls of it.

This is one of the best places for Mexican food in Topeka. The meals are very generous and the quality is excellent for the price. I have always been impressed at the quality and preparation of beef and pork dishes. The dining room is small and can get very crowded, but the staff works very hard to keep up.

I suggest straying from the popular burritos and such. I had the carnitas uruapan and my brother had some sort of stew. Both were remarkable.

Dang! Thank you Unilocalers… Just as stated by fellow reviewers — great salsas, guacamole and food! Cheap Margaritas were great too! We’ll definitely be back on our next visit! Yummers!

Second time here and impressed with the warm service, fresh food and good portions. Both visits I ordered out of my comfort zone and tried a traditional Mexican dish. Casa Ramos is now my first choice for Mexican food on Topeka’s west side.

You know you are in a good Mexican restaurant when they have those high backed chairs with all those wild colors. And toucans. Not sure why toucans are a staple among good Mexican dives — but they are. And Casa Ramos has that. The food is outstanding. Portion sizes are enormous. Prices are decent. Service — we’ve had incredible service and we’ve had so-so. Depends on who you get. Try out your Spanish with your server. Yes, they will laugh at you but they will appreciate the effort as well. And it will be worth the laughs. A family regular for us.

Good beef fajitas– lunch specials are a good deal, and almost too much food. Service is friendly and quick. Quirky and colorful Mexican décor.

I really like this place. They have some real great food! I like the pollo con crème… it’s a delicious chicken dish smothered in a sort of cream cheese sauce. Fantasic! The servers are always super super nice and attentive… OH, and before I forget, the Flan is the best flan I have ever had. I wish there were a song about flan I would sing it while I ate flan at Casa Ramos!

Topeka has some decent Mexican places, but Casa Ramos is truly excellent. The staff is friendly and treats you like regulars(even if you’re not). They have some authentic, less Americanized dishes like molcajete and borrego. Also, their arroz con pollo and chicken mazatlan are great.

By far the best Mexican food in Topeka. The service is excellent. They treat you like family, they don’t hover over you, its family run and owned and they know what they’re doing! They always make me feel welcome, «hola amiga!» everytime! The food, awesome. They have a huge menu, and its not filled with #1−124, they are REAL original dishes with really delicious and fresh ingredients. The complimentary chips and salsa are always warm and perfect for anybody’s liking. The plates are large… I’ve never ordered anything here I didn’t rave about! I’m so glad I live so close by… definitely a neighborhood favorite!
