I went to papa Murpheys the other night because I don’t cook, and I needed something to eat while I had a super bowl party that consisted only of me. I went to PMs with just minutes to spare before the game started. I asked what specials they had available, and the girl at the front counter told me that they had a large one topping for 8 bucks, or a large cowboy pizza for 10 bucks. I ended up ordering the cowboy which consisted of pepperoni, sausage, black olives, and mushrooms. Within two minutes of ordering, my pizza was ready! It looked pretty good. I took it home, baked it, and it was actually not too bad! It was way better than anything I could have subjected myself too from Pizza Prison(see my dominos review)! Now, being from Chicago, I know good pizza. This is not GOOD pizza by any means, but you’re in Topeka, ks and compared to your other options, this isn’t a bad deal.

We are from the KC area, and we eat Papa Murphy’s there quite frequently. We always call ahead and we have always had a great experience. Tonight we were in Topeka visiting family, and called ahead well over an hour before arriving, even telling them exactly what time we would be there to get the pizza(4 pm — not a crazy busy time). When we showed up, the pizzas weren’t even started, and no one was in a hurry to get them started. We didn’t complain… sometimes things like this happen, so we just waited patiently. We stood there and watched the young girl put them together. Which would have been OK, if she hadn’t apparently missed the note that showed our request to hold the artichokes on our veggie pizza. We didn’t notice her mistake, but she noticed after she had added them all in there, but didn’t want to remake the pizza from scratch, so we stood there and watched for a solid five minutes as she turned her back to us(so we hopefully wouldn’t notice) and picked off as many artichokes as she could see. Which was far from all of them. Luckily, we didn’t have a food allergy, it was just a taste preference, so no one will suffer TOO much during dinner tonight. However, it was incredibly gross to watch her dig through our pizza, and could have been dangerous if someone in my family had had an allergy. We found a good handful of artichokes on the pizza after opening them up this evening. Not exactly an ideal experience. I am not sure the staff is well trained or that management is really on top of their game at this location.
