I feel like this spot has gone downhill since they attempted to expand the space. When it had first opened, it was kind of a fun, secret spot that friends would want to hit up for cheap drinks and food. The notorious 3 lb. burger is no joke — I haven’t tried it, but I know people who have! The burgers are decent for a dive bar type joint and the fries and other sides(I usually get fried mushrooms) are okay. But like I said, I’ve been back several times as they started building on a patio, a stage, etc and the service and clientele has gone WAY downhill.

If I could give no stars I would. I took my brother and 2 of his friends up there just yesterday. My brother 1 of his friends and I all happen to be black his other friend is white. After waiting for 20 minutes just to see a menu the the lady behind the counter was not only rude and obnoxious she went well out of her way to serve the white customers while ignoring the 4 of us. By time we actually received the menus I had already began looking for another place to eat. Chose to go with Buffalo Wild Wings spent $ 90 on some good grub received satisfactory service and left a $ 20 tip. If you happen to be black and were even thinking about making a visit to specks I urge you to save your time and your hard earned money and go somewhere else. These racists didn’t ruin my day or my meal they simply let me know that if you happen to be black or even apparently associated with negros they’d rather not have your business.

If you ever dreamed of what it would be like getting drunk at the K Mart cafeteria, Target’s food court or equally charming venue with your grandma then Sparks is your place. Its way too bright inside to comfortably have a few drinks, think T Monk Sunday Morning Pancake Fest. Doesn’t work, does it? This place features a 3lb hamburger($ 22). That was a tad more than I had in mind so I just got a ½ lb burger and ½lb hot dogs. The burger was good, the bun was lightly toasted which was nice. The fries were average. The hot dog was really good, deli style, not the nonsense you might get at Dillion’s or where ever. Speck’s has some really nice HD tvs so it seems like a good place to catch a Chiefs game. Also, this place has free WiFi !? Just incase you have to update those TPS reports. If you go on a good night where there may be a few entertaining Zetas /Thetas, then yes, i suppose this place would work fine.
