Quite literally the worst run pharmacy I’ve ever encountered. There are always long lines and no service despite the fact that there may be 5 or 6 people behind the counter. And when you do get someone to help you they’re clueless. Horrible lack of service.

Well, its Walgreens. Basically a pharmacy and other junk. This is the only one in Topeka that is open 24 hours a day(that I know of). It makes it nice when you have to get some cough drops at 1am or a prescription filled late. Being located down the street from the hospitals makes it useful for when you had to go into the hospital for something(yeah, had to do that once). The store is quite crowded inside though, like most Walgreens. The aisles are narrow and a little difficult to navigate.

You pay for convenience, but they probably do have it if you’re looking for it. This location is open 24 hours, which is nice. If you’re getting an Rx filled, it’s best not to get stuck in the drive thru or in line inside. Call it in, wait, then go — the lines are usually bad here as they are very busy. They do have some chairs though. And of course you can shop while you wait. Clean, well lit, and generally well stocked with their sale items. If not, once you hunt down and employee, they’ll usually accommodate you by going and finding more or writing you a rain check. The staff is usually pretty good, though somewhat elusive. And… as mentioned in the other reviews, the area is a bit rough. Be careful and pay attention to your surroundings. They have a rent-a-cop but it’s not much of a deterrent. I’ve never had any bad things happen here, but the general nighttime customers can be a little creepy.

I went here in search of disposable razors, a wedding card, and a 12 pack of cowboy hats — I left with two out of three, and I’ll let you guess which two. There also wasn’t much in the way of local flavor t-shirts, unless you count the 4XL plain white t-shirts. See Ian S.‘s review for an accurate rundown of the atmosphere.

I saw you standing there on the corner. My attraction was immediate. I was drawn closer. Why was my attraction to you so powerful? Why could I not resist? Because I left the house without packing any toiletries, and I needed to shave in the morning and brush my teeth when I got to the hotel. Deodorant was also highly recommended. I didn’t smell like one of the newly minted neocon youth league member from the airport wafting of dryer sheet oder, so I needed to do something to cover up the Seattle hippie stench that had rubbed off on me during my time in the Northwest. I needed to do this, or I would be lynched by the Westboro Baptist Church. Inside of this fine establishment there was a cop with a buzz cut and a molester mustache talking about kicking ass. Outside there were thugs loitering around cars with freshly broken windows. What a great town this is! I wish I could stay forever! I bought my things and left.
