Jim expertly helped me select the right ball for my skill level and desired performance — long and smooth with a powerful curve in the back end; steering me away from more expensive versions in stock. The ball was ordered in the weight required, drilled and ready for pick up in a couple of business days. When I then asked for assistance with picking out a two-​ball wheeled bag, he helped me pick the most affordable one based upon my described needs; rather than a larger and more expensive version. Now I can transport, in style, my beautiful new ball and my forty year old plastic ball from junior high. He is exactly as glowingly described by other reviewers: Kind, patient and above all extremely knowledgeable on everything related to the sport. I feel confident recommending Bach’s to anyone looking for excellent and expert service from someone who is clearly passionate about bowling.

I absolutely love this place! l willing to driven 45 mins just to get my bowling balls plugged and let me just say that Jim is an awesome guy! If you need finger and thumb holes refitted on your bowling balls this is definitely the place to go and he managed to plug the finger holes on 3 of my balls in less than 2 hours! He also carries bags and bowling shoes as well as bowling balls (storm mostly)! Will keep doing business with him for all my bowling needs!

One of the best guy I have came across. I bought a ball from Jim and he helped thru whole process of picking the correct ball and drilled it correctly. I went back twice to get the thumb hole bigger as it was really tight. He did that right away without any charge. Answered all my none related questions about bowling. Great guy, best place.

Jim is the best. Very patient. I have purchased a ball and supplies from him as well as returned to have him drill a ball I bought on line. He is always patient and kind. Jim is the real deal. If you need bowling supplies or balls this is the place to visit.

All the great things about Jim are true. He is the real deal. We have already bought a few balls, from Jim and I found the measuring process fascinating. Good place to try on shoes – I got some of the cute pink/​blk Brunswicks, and I love em. Alot of stuff says Made in USA, which I like – he is biologically incapable of selling you anything that you don’t seem to require. I wouldn’t try to him rush though.

Great and knowledgable service. I didn’t feel like he was trying to up sell me just told me how it is. He would even comment about two balls being very similar but one is more expensive because of the coloring. I loved the honest approach — I will definitely be getting all my bowling gear here!

Best bowling pro shop! Jim is an awesum guy! My girlfriend and I both had our bowling balls drilled here. Jim ordered a ball that she wanted specifically and it was there in two days! He is very knowledgeable in what kind of layout to go with depending on how you bowl. He also got our names on each of our bowling balls with the drilling. This is just a great business that you want to come back and actually look forward to being a part of; for drilling or any bowling needs. Highly recommended!

Love love love love… Did I say LOVE this place!!! My husband and I went to get his bday gift here: bowling shoes, bowling balls, and bag. While he was looking, the owner was really nice in guiding him to the right directions – the type of shoes (whether one is right handed or left handed; we didn’t even know about this), beginner balls or more advance, etc. I was super duper interested in the scented bowling balls. The owner was showing me more of those scented balls – love ‘em!!! Therefore, overall experience was superb!!! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful owner who didn’t overcharged his customers. Again… LOVE it!!!

I bought my first bowling ball here long long ago. Jim was and obviously still is a great guy. Last week i brought my son to get his first ball. Jim still has the best advice. He does not oversell even you want to be be oversold, lol. Nonetheless, my son got a beautiful ball, bag and shoes… not to mention great conversation. I will be back again and i absolutely would refer him to all my friends and family when in need of any type of bowling gear.

Hands down: awesome. I walked in around 1 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon (they are open Sat and Sun, FYI) and brought in my mom’s hand-​me-​down bowling ball. I needed the holes re-​drilled/​widened a bit and was in and out in 5 minutes — the owner Jim did it free of charge to my surprise! He was very friendly, so helpful and I will be recommending the shop to anyone and everyone who bowls with me. Just

He recommended a ball for my 10 yr old daughter. Her first game with it she bowled a 179. I didn’t break 200 until I got a ball from him. This is the place to go.
Also he is open on the weekends and until 7Pm during the week.

5 stars only cause youre not allowed to give 6. jim «the real» mcCoy is awesome there. does a great job even though he wears the same stinky sweater lol. he will help you out with anything you need and wont over charge you. ask him about his don carter clock behind the counter, its pretty cool. oh and if youre lucky enough to be there when he gets a call on his cell phone listen to the ring tone! ahh fauck its pretty bad ass! he closes i think for about 30 mins a day due to the new rub and tug massage that just opened next door. just kidding james.

Bought my first ball 30 years ago at the old location. It was a great experience. I also needed «the worst» leftover team shirt he had. He fixed me up with a baby blue, front white ring pull zipper, day glo Orange team name. I had iron on decals and different first names front and back. Awesome shirt, still have it 30 years later.
Will be visiting soon for redrill on same ball. You can trust the products and work.

I’m new to bowling so I had a lot of questions and Jim, the owner patiently answered everything with a smile on his face. While you might be able to save a few dollars online I think it’s worth it to have the owner’s opinions on the balls in stock which he knows very well. He never tried to up sell me and he had plenty of chances! Jim actually steered me toward a lower priced ball. If he doesn’t have something in stock he can get it in a day or two. Seriously, you won’t find friendlier or faster service anywhere!

Came here to purchase my first bowling ball and I’m very glad that I came to Bach’s. Service was great. The owner is a real friendly, knowledgeable, no nonsense kind of guy. Got the drilling done on the same day. After bowling I felt the holes were a bit tight so he adjusted them right away for free. The owner isn’t pushy and doesn’t try to sell you things you don’t need, very professional.

It’s entirely possible that I’m giving 5 stars because the other pro shops I’ve been to really stink, but so be it — it’s all relative. At some other shops (which I won’t name here) in LA, I’ve had to come back for my ball up to a week later for simple resurfacing jobs. At Bach, the owner actually apologized to me because he couldn’t get to my ball right away but would have it before he closed a couple hours later. I was flabbergasted! Apparently his motto is «Have your ball drilled while you wait.»
Other good things: The owner (I think his name’s Jim) usually tells me if I can accomplish what I want by doing something cheaper. He also gives me tips on my swing and release. Oh, and he’s open on the weekend! (Might only be Saturday, but that’s still awesome in my book. Pro shops at alleys are almost ALWAYS closed on weekends.)
