I would highly recommend coming here! I saw April when I came in, no special occasion just wanted a little pampering. My hair looked and felt amazing and lasted for 2 days! I am extremely picky on how my hair is washed and if it ins’t great I don’t go back, that part is big for me. She was amazing! I wish I could go see her everyday for a wash! Not to mention the salon uses all Aveda products which work and smell amazing!

I’ve been here twice now for hair and makeup. I like that I can make appointments online and you should because they get really busy. I’m still not 100% sold because it seems like the stylists don’t really listen and kind of do what they want BUT it seems to come together in the end. Make sure you speak up to get what you want here! Overall I like it and I will continue coming here.

I love going to this establishment for my mani/pedi; especially for Henry! It’s always a great experience. The staff is so nice and attentive to your needs. The owner Shawn is very nice and helpful. I’ve been going to Blodry Bar & Nail Bar for a few years now, since I discovered them through Groupon.

Yea… I don’t like this place so much. My blowout looked decent when I left the salon, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, but it looked OK. However, only an hour later I was losing my curls! She even used a TON of hairspray and that was all I could smell the next couple of days, even with washing my hair. I’ve gone to Drybar and curled my own hair and the curls would stay way longer than two hours. Also an update on my gel manicure… it started peeling after only FOURDAYS!!! What a rip! I’ve been to other nail salons and the gel would be perfect for over a week. I am never coming back here. The only good person was Henry on my pedicure. I hope he does better manicures than Helen. Avoid!

Good service and great nails! My mani and pedi looks amazing! They are nice and friendly and usually have great groupon sales although I have yet to use one. Prices are decent and it’s in a good area close to the hill! Very convenient to come get hair, nails, facial and makeup done in one place!

Purchased a double groupon two manis/pedis. Would not honor the groupin because I’ve been here before. They would not even honor the purchase price . They told me to take it up w groupon even though vendor is supposed to honor purchase price for services even if expired Plus they are closed on Mondays so whats the point

I just got off the phone and had to literally hang up on the owner trying to schedule my 3rd appointment with this salon. That bad. On a side note, I had visited here for mani/pedi which I would give 3 stars, because even though the salon is new and the décor is nicer, the actual service and the work they do is not worth the additional dollars they are charging for the space. Back to the Blodry Bar in general: I’ve had 2 other blow outs here so far(I purchased a 3pack via Groupon). My first blow out was with Mona, pretty standard 3-stars again. I’ve had blowouts at other dry bars in LA and SF and it wasn’t at the same caliber as Dry Bar but I figured it’s a new establishment and they were going through their own growing pains. She was a sweet lady but wasn’t able to pull off the look I wanted and over-sprayed me with hair spray. It was a struggle to wash it out. My second time, the stylist offered to do a half up-do without telling me that there’s a cost difference until after it was done. Fine, can happen– I let it go. Today, I called to schedule a 3rd appointment. Owner says their computer is down and needs to call me back to schedule an appointment. Calls me back to schedule, and while I mentioned out of courtesy that this will be the 3rd visit with my Groupon package, he tells me that I needed to bring the card in. I said, «Ok, I’ll have to look for it when I’m home but I remember you last being able to find me through your system without the coupon.» Then he goes off. That it’s the same as cash and I cannot be serviced without it. I repeated«Ok, I will look for it but just track me in your system since that’s why you made me set up a client profile/account.» Then he goes off again that I’m lying and that he would’ve never said such a thing. I said«I’m just stating a fact that since I have an account, and you have tracked me on it before, won’t that work?» Then he goes off again. I finally got so frustrated and said«I’m going in for a blow out. It’s supposed to make you look and feel good– not to get yelled at for lying when I’m telling you what I was last told at your salon. I never said I won’t bring you the card– this makes me not want to visit the salon again after this appoint.» Then he says«Don’t come. I’m canceling your appointment. You paid Groupon, not me.» WTF, so I said if so, how are you going to credit me back/pay me for something I already purchased? He says«You didn’t pay me– you paid Groupon. Ask them for a refund.» WTF. SPEECHLESS. What do I even do at this point?

I am so delighted that this blodry bar is so close to where I live! I’ve had many great experiences there and I frequently get my hair styled by April :) She’s Awesome! She’s chill, kind, and very efficient with time! I show her a pic of the style I want and I am always happy with the final results! :) I’ve had other stylists blow out my hair too and always leave pleased with their work! I have had a gel mani there as well and was super pleased with the professionalism and quality of work they provide. They are very reasonably priced on all their services and have weekly specials that are great deals! Go check them out!

I came to this location for a eyelashes that I got from Groupon, and I love it… Sarah did an amazing job, and instead put the regulars, I went for the mink ones… she is so patient, and super professional, she explained step by step and the process isn’t pain… definitely I’ll come back again!

I discovered this place when I was searching for eye lash extension deals on Groupon. They had a $ 76 deal for one full(silk) eye lash extension and $ 119 deal for one full(silk) eye last extension with one refill. Add $ 50 for mink eye lashes. Sean, the owner was able to squeeze me into their booked schedule after someone had canceled. Sarah did a full set of mink eye lash extensions– pain-free in two hours. My overall experience was great. The service and staff were amazing, so I booked a lash refill three weeks in advance! I definitely recommend trying this place out. They also do hair and manicures/pedicures.

I am currently sitting at home with a deep conditioning hair mask on my hair, 24 hours after a blowout at Blodry Bar. My hair and scalp have literally never felt so damaged and parched. My hair is color treated(with Aveda hair color) and due to the harsh treatment during my blowout, the color is visibly faded. I really wanted to like this place as I have been looking for a good blow dry option in Torrance. But this place is simply doin too much. Blowouts, mani pedis, eyelash extensions, waxing, cuts and color… if you offer this many services in a cramped, claustrophobic mini mall location, you are obviously not going to do them all well. Unfortunately for me, I came in sight unseen with a Groupon deal, which I think is how many people discover Blodry Bar Here are my main complaints: –There is a sign near the register offering $ 5 off your next visit for writing a Unilocal review. I have always thought that businesses that solicit reviews this way are shady. –Stylist did not greet me, but instead just waved me over to her chair from across the room. She did not introduce herself, so I didn’t catch her name. –It was hard to communicate what style I was going for. I wanted soft curls/waves and I said I didn’t want anything too«done» because it was extremely windy. She gave me full out insane Shirley Temple curls. I have never been to a blow dry place that didn’t offer some sort of a look book so you can visually show your stylist what you are hoping for. –There was someone else’s hair in the shampoo bowl that she told me to sit down at. –The stylist burned my scalp and faded my color with scalding hot water. At first it felt bearable and for some reason I was too embarrassed to say something, but the heat just kept getting hotter and hotter. She never checked in with me regarding the temperature. It feels like I have a sunburn on my entire scalp and I’m fully expecting a bad bout of dandruff in about a week when my dead layer of skin begins to slough off. –They claim to be an Aveda salon, but the only Aveda products that my stylist used were shampoo and conditioner. All the other products were not Aveda, including the copious amounts of off-brand mousse that she applied to my sopping wet hair. –The blowout itself was very unprofessional and uncomfortable. My wet hair was hanging in my face«Cousin It» style most of the time. Her brush repeatedly snagged on tangles in my hair, and the curls themselves were completely haphazard and random. –You can’t see what’s happening during your blowout because there are no mirrors near the styling area. –Afterwards, I told her the curls were too extreme and to tone them down in the back. She refused, saying they would naturally fall. Needless to say, they looked insane and when they did fall, they just looked stringy and bad. I was embarrassed by my hair the entire night. –Between the scalding hot water, low-quality product, and extreme use of heat styling tools, my hair is now completely frizzy and straw-like. I normally have very soft, healthy hair, even after blowouts at multiple other salons and professional styling on my wedding day. I honestly wish I had never come to this salon and I really don’t recommend it.

I just got my eyelash extensions done by Sarah. This was my first time getting them done and she did an amazing job! I’m pretty sure I fell asleep at one point, I was so relaxed. I decided to go with mink and I absolutely love them! Will definitely be going back in 3 weeks for a fill.

Sarah was patient and did a good job. I had them done 2 weeks ago. I want to request a different glue that will keep my lashes on longer, but other than that I’m pleased. Beautiful one stop shop, nails, hair, eyes. Can’t go wrong!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. This is my first Unilocal review only because my experience was HORRIBLE. I was hoping for an experience like the reviews I read, but I got the worst experience I’ve ever had from any type of salon. Bought the Groupon for a deluxe mani pedi. I made an appointment for 3pm on a Sunday about a week in advance because I was leaving for vacation that night and didn’t want to ruin my nails. I arrived about 5 minutes early for my appointment and all 4 chairs were being used, so I chose a polish and waited. Another woman comes in after me and she waits next to me. 3:30 comes and I have still not been seated or even acknowledged, while on the other hand, several people went up to the woman next to me and apologized profusely for the delay. Am I invisible here? Shortly thereafter, a tech comes up to the woman and said they will seat her first because she was there first. I politely interrupted and said I had been there first, so they did actually seat me first. The tech begins on my toes and the woman waiting with me got seated next to me. Her tech brought her free Sake and upgraded her pedicure saying it would be on the house due to the wait. No one offered me water or a free upgraded pedi, let alone an apology(not that I am seeking free stuff, but if she was getting it and didn’t wait as long as me, why shouldn’t I?). While working on my toes, my tech tells another tech to work on my fingernails when he is done. But while he is cleaning up, a walk-in comes in and seats her and begins to work on her. At this point it is nearing 4pm and I am getting very annoyed because I have a plane to catch. By 4:10, my tech begins on my fingernails, but I don’t have time to sit through a mani, so I ask if she will just paint my nails. I was so upset because I was hoping for a relaxing pre-vacation experience but it has been everything but that. She finally finishes and leaves me sitting in the chair. Angry and in a hurry now, I get up on my own and no one bothers to help me. At the front check out desk, I am livid and complain to the girl up there that due to the wait, wasn’t able to get the service I requested. So she gave me a free pedi, didn’t charge my Groupon, but charged me $ 8 for a polish change on my fingernails(which I still didn’t think I should be paying since the woman next to me was getting hers for free, but again, I’m not seeking free things and it wasn’t the tech’s fault). In the process of trying to get my money out of my purse, I ruin one of my nails. Now I am almost in tears. After I finish paying and put my wallet back in my purse, the girl asks if she could help me and I say for what? I already ruined my nails paying her. Too little, too late. So I go back over to the tech and ask for her to fix my nail. She tells me to sit down and wait, but I tell her I have a plane to catch and I’m going to be late. The customer she was helping insisted she fix my nail first. I ended up leaving well after 4:30pm and didn’t get the service I wanted. By 7pm(3 hours after my pedicure) I put on shoes and my pedi was ruined… I’ve never had that happen before. Moral of my story: I wouldn’t have minded the wait, but seeing how poor their customer service was for me compared with others was unacceptable. I made an appointment at 3pm for a reason and I felt like my wasted time wasn’t valued. Terrible place. Will NEVER return.

Peter always leaves my nails looking amazing! I can go almost 4 weeks in between gel manicures and even then it is only because they have grown out that I need to get them redone. I have shorter hair so I have never needed the hair services but everyone that I have seen getting their hair and or makeup done always look great to me. The best part? They are pretty quick. I hate spending hours getting my nails done. I am in and out in generally just over an hour. Reasonable to me.

I loved the customer service!!! Every employee working there was simply amazing, they are so amiable, with a nice smile on all of their faces. I was an early bird. I came right as soon as they opened. That is one major thing that i love about them. They open at 8:30 am much earlier than the surroundings locations, which is a plus. The location inside is super clean, the colors compliment each other, it has a wonderful vibe inside. In the beginning i did not know what to expect because since they barely opened they were not fully prepared with the necessary tools, but when the lady who waxed my brows came along with her wonderful personality she made me feel much more comfortable. She was so subtle and was preoccupied with my needs(getting bumpy on my eyebrow are throughout the day) but this was the first time that it did not happen. I was very content with my experience here i would definetly go again.
