It’s a great cozy place to meet up with friends or to study! The people there are very friendly and the food is really good. I tried the red bean walnut pastry which wasn’t too sweet. The only thing is the WiFi wasn’t working well so that was a set back to studying there which is what I had gone there to do.

This place has the best walnut cookies. I haven’t tried any of the other offerings but the walnut cookies are better than the ones I had in Korea! I don’t know if it’s the water, or something(kind of like pizza in NY). They use whole walnut chunks instead of broken pieces and the red bean is soft and smooth. It’s best when they serve it warm, but still good hours later. Nothing like the ones you buy at the market. So the reason I have to give this place 5 stars is because I went with a group of friends and we hung out in the seating area. This place was actually closing but they didn’t say anything to us and let us sit there until we were ready to leave. I didn’t even realize we were there way after closing, until after the fact. Whoops, SORRY! They didn’t say anything and still smiled as they thanked us for coming. Thank you Cocohodo!

Currently I’m sitting at a table, waiting for my supposedly delish pastries(9 at 3.75 $, not bad!) but it’s seriously taking forever. I mean, I completely understand there’s only one girl behind the counter, but I seriously feel bad for her! She definitely needs a raise! It’s funny though, because every time I come here, granted its only my second time, but they always seem to be out of something. The first time, they were out of pistachio macarons and today they are out of strawberries so no virgin strawberry mojito for me! Anyways, these walnut pastries are definitely an acquired taste. It’s not something I crave, they arnt too sweet. They’re decent. Must try for yourself :)

The pastry is delicious and they make great gifts! My kids tried the rice punch drink which was yummy. Staff are super nice and generous! We will definitely come back. Tip: call ahead and place an order if you’re ordering gift boxes. They ran out but we waited about 10 minutes for a fresh batch and the staff/owners kindly gave us some free samples. Awesome customer service!

Good walnut cakes. Fresh three of the four times I’ve been. The fourth time, they were on the stale side. Would recommend.

Very clean and cozy atmosphere. We dropped in for some coffee after our anniversary date. The lady so so cute and helpful. She reminded me of my mom. There was a small language barrier, but she was very hospitable. We ordered the combo b which comes with two coffee drinks and 9 hazelnut desserts. She was kind enough to give us an extra so we could split the desserts equally. The hazelnut coffee was pretty good, but they didn’t have creamer. I like my coffee really sugary and sweet, but had to settle on cinnamon and two sugar packets. It reminded me of a coffee shop in Korea. Very clean and elegant… The dessert wasn’t too heavy and neither was the coffee. I would recommend going there if you want to relax. I’m used to coffee shops with a huge coffee variety, so it was odd not having a lot of options. If you want a clean place to reconnect with friends… Go here. If you want more of a urban coffee shop, this is not the place for you.

Love, love Cocohodo! The staff was very friendly at this location. When the walnut pastries are warm, they’re seriously the bomb. I bought the gift box of 56 for $ 23 and I thought that that was a steal. Brought them to the office as a Friday treat and they were a huge hit! Will definitely be back soon!

My boyfriend tried hodo gwaja for the first time while visiting Toronto and could not get enough. I was a bit surprised but super pleased that he loved the red bean so much as it’s always been one of my favourite treats since I was a little girl. Wasn’t expecting to find a hodo store outside of the Los Angeles core and was surprised to have come across it on Unilocal after having purchased some not-so-fresh hodo gwaja at the local Korean Market. I was on a mission to get him his fix! Visited earlier today. The place was adorable(as are most things Korean). We walked in and smiled. It was perfect. Quiet. The décor was cozy and sweet. Decided to have him try a few red bean based sweets(to go) including the Pat Bing Soo, which we decided to share at a table. The lady behind the counter was adorable. She reminded me of my mom. We sat down and I watched my boyfriend take a small spoonful of the Pat Bing Soo with some hesitation. I watched his face while he took it in. He smiled so big!!! Then it was my turn. So good. The hodo gwaja were fresh and tasty as expected. We bought him an extra large bag(which will last him a day or so). Will definitely be back for our fix.

This is the biggest and nicest Cocohodo location I have been to. Great service and tasty Walnut pastries at a fair price. The red bean paste is an aquired taste, that my husband and son did not enjoy but I thought was great. Eating them hot is a must, melt in your mouth goodness, cold they are a bit odd, I recommend warming them for a few seconds if they are no longer fresh. Tasty with coffee or tea, a light, different dessert that was fun to try and priced well.

This is a cute little place with some yummy walnut pastries and good coffee. The owner is nice and it’s a nice, semi-quiet place to work on whatever you need. The pastry is a spongy desert shaped like a walnut and it has semi-sweet red bean paste and a walnut: it’s their signature desert.

I have been here a few times. I really enjoy eating walnut pastry filled with red bean. When you buy them, they are fresh and warm. They are very delicious. Customer service is friendly. I went in and got 21 cookies for $ 7. Very good pastry to try.

I use to love this place but I think the owner changed… My son will always get the grain latte smoothie and i always get the ice latte. We were regulars here but all of a sudden the drinks tasted horrible!!! Even my son didn’t like his drink! The staff changed. They are new faces now. One of the lady is very rude!!! I stopped coming here after the lady messed up with our drink and being rude. The walnut pastry is good. The staff and drinks horrible!!! They take forever making the drinks… They look at the direction sheet to make the drinks. Lol~~~

This adorable find surprised and delighted me and my family! I love to come study here. It’s less crowded than Tous Les Jours close by, with amazing, yummy walnut pastries that are very affordable. I’ve only tried their teas thus far but love the taste of the traditional Korean teas! The staff is also so friendly and nice, and present their pastries/drinks for you in a cute tray with plates, etc. I’ll definitely continue to study here as well as purchase gift packages. Swing by & check it out when you have a chance!

The first time I had Cocohodo I was impressed. I’ve always had these little walnut cookies from the Korean market, which is always cold and have been sitting on the shelves for a while. The pastry at Cocohodo are warm and so delicate. I would equate the pastry to a very light cake, wrapped into a ball, and filled w walnut and red bean and served individually wrapped(like a little tummy present) and warm. A large bag(30 count) is only $ 12 so it’s not expensive by any means. The grain lattes are really good too. It tastes like cereal, with little bits of grain and is taken as a meal replacement in many Korean households. Grain lattes are high in protein and fiber and is good for you and tastes good, too. I would definitely come back!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the door to Cocohodo was the sweet smell of red bean and walnut! This cute, quiet café is known for their walnut pastries(Ho Do Gwa Ja), but they also specialize in hot and cold coffees and teas, ice cream, and shave ice. I came to Cocohodo to give these premium pastries a try in hopes of finding the perfect thank you gift for someone. When we told the lady that it was our first time there, she even gave us a fresh, warm sample! YUM! The outer cake pasty is very light, and the inner fillings include lots of sweet red bean. To our surprise, there was even a whole walnut in the middle! Prices are very reasonable. Bags are slightly cheaper than the box sets, but boxes make a really nice gift! Only $ 5 for a mini box, which includes 12 pastries! There are multiple box sizes ranging from 12 to 84 pieces($ 5 – 28). Bags range from 9 to 30 pieces($ 3 – 10). Each walnut pastry is individually wrapped! Make sure to put them in the refrigerator if you’re not going to eat them all within a couple of days. If left in the fridge, they should last about a week.

My sweet tooth tolerance has declined considerably this past year, which I take as a sign of me getting older. Thus, I was on the hunt for light pastries and caught sight of this place while driving down Sepulveda. Cocohodo’s signature is a walnut shaped pastry with red bean filling with – surprise! – a whole walnut in the center. The outside pastry itself tastes like yellow cake. To get customers addicted, pastries are often overloaded with sweeteners. I applaud Cocohodo for digressing from this belief and keeping the mashed red bean true to taste, highlighting the beautiful creaminess it offers and contrasting it with the wholesome nuttiness crunch of the walnut.
