Comb My Hair

I’m mixed and I have really curly hair that I don’t trust to most people since most people don’t know much about mixed hair. I found her on Unilocal and she had great reviews, so I decided to take a leap in faith and I’m glad I did.
I shaved my head a couple of years ago and let it grow into an unruly, damaged mess, but I was afraid of having to cut it again. I had a great experience and was able to tame my hair and fix it without losing too much of the length. I’m confident that I now have a new stylist who won’t traumatize me.

I have been natural for over 5 years, and this is one of the best stylist i have ever had. I was new to the SFV valley, and I am so happy to have found this jewel. She has a wealth of personal and experiential knowledge for all kinds of natural hair styles. I am looking forward to going back and finally starting my dreadlock process which I feel much more confident doing now.

On July 5 I had an appointment with the beautiful spirit Salkis Re. I found her on Unilocal and decided to give her a try after watching her videos. I was drawn to her positive energy and knew that she would be the best to do my kinky twists. Salkis is fast, knowledgable and neat. I am new to protective hair styles, but I know she will keep me fly. I will be back without a doubt! Give her a try!

I’ve been natural for three years, but I had hit a road block on the way to Natural Hair Heaven. I have super coily hair that was dry, tangled, and and breaking off. I had kept off going to a hair stylist because I am new to the area and finding someone who understood natural hair was hard to find. I needed someone who not only «got it» but whom I was comfortable with.

Salkis has great customer service! She did a quick braid down (less than 45 mins) of my super thick natural hair. I’ve been growing out my hair to natural for about one year. I’ve «sampled» various salons since I moved to LA. Some salons charge more than $ 100 for wash and braid downs. Salkis is the most reasonable stylist in Woodland Hills.

I am new to the world of natural hair and I was really nervous having to go to a new stylist. Especially when I had no idea what I was going to get since I have been getting my hair straightened for many years now (I always know how that turns out).

I am definitely a fan of Salkis Re! I read all the great reviews here on Unilocal and decided to give her a try. I am so glad I did. It’s always kind of scary to visit a new hair stylist. As women, we tend to be very particular about our hair and with good cause… it’s an expression of who we are! Well, I can certainly put your fears to rest when it comes to Salkis. She truly listens to your wants and needs and she delivers! She works quickly and efficiently. She was right on time with my appointment, too! She is very friendly and personable. We chatted and laughed as she worked and the 4 hours it took to complete the style just flew by!
I decided to get kinky twists which I’ve never had before. I brought in a few pictures of kinky twist styles that I liked and explained to Salkis exactly what I wanted. She hit the nail on the head. She also told me the best way to care for and maintain the style so that it would last. I love my hair! More importantly… my husband LOVES my hair! LOL!

I called Salkis last minute last week to see if she could do my hair. I’m 9 months pregnant and could pop at any moment so I didn’t want to have to deal with it. She got me in for a sameday appointment and my hair is fabulous! She is super sweet and fast. I was done in less than 2 hours! I highly recommend her and will be be coming to her all the time. I found my new stylist!

This was by far one of the best experiences I had with getting my hair twisted. Salkis is really talented and does a really great job. She had my twists done amazingly really fast. She is also very knowledgeable about hair care and a kind person to be around. If you want to look amazing, and have excellent service call Salkis and she’ll have you done in a snap.

Salkis did a great job on my hair! she did an excellent consultation about my hair. She told me my hair type and recommended products. She is very personable and friendly. So not only does she understand hair care, she is pleasant to be around. I would recommend her to anyone that wants to go natural, has natural hair, braids, weaves, locks, etc.

I was looking for a hairstylist that specializes in natural hair care. I’ve been transitioning for 7 months and I was fed up with my birds nest (curls to naturalists). I found Comb My Hair (Salkis Re) and decided to give her a try. I was nervous at first (very nervous) because I hadn’t been to a hair salon for about 15 – 16 years (yeah I know right?) Well, Salkis reassured me that I would be fine and would leave her styling chair fly… SHE SURE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THAT!
I came to the appointment and she was so nice and evaluated my hair. She gave me a wash and deep condition and this AMAZING temple massage and proceeded to twist and work magic on my birds nest (curls to naturalists). LOL! My hair was trying not to dry all the way but she was patient and determined to make me look great! The salon is in Sherman Oaks but to be treated good and leave with a hairdo that turns heads… IT WAS WELL WORTH IT!
