Service was prompt and friendly. Menu was typical of all of their chain restaurant. The server was always on her ball game. Very friendly. When I asked her about how much sugar was in the iced tea, she offered to get the syrup on the side for me. Food was pretty quick as I didn’t have to wait long. Overall, I am happy with my experience there.

Their curry rivals some of the best I’ve ever had. They even sell their curry in packets for you to make at home(although somehow cooking it yourself is not quite the same). The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars, as opposed to 5, is because I prefer the spice customization offered at Coco Ichibanaya just across town in Torrance. Curry House is an institution.

Came as soon as they opened today. 1105am on Thurs. The foods were good. I loved the Spinach shrimp. The service was somehow below average. It takes 4 stars off. I ordered something, she didn’t hear and said instead«what?» She asks stuff while she’s walking after passing by us with a rapid glance and this is not a good experience at all. When she carries hot teas, it runs over and wet the floor. I hope not to have the server again for my next visit. Ugh yeah, I don’t see the old crews. They’re gone. My family has not had good experiences thesedays. Bye for a long time.

My corn soup was looking sad as it was served while we went to the restroom. I would not serve any food when nobody is present at the table. Tried their curry with cutlet which is supposed to be the most popular one. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t hate it, but I can just buy the«House Brand Curry pouch» from any Japanese market. It will be less than $ 3 per pack.

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Its a great place for decent meal — i particularly like the keema curry and shrimp spaghetti. The Coffee Jello is a great dessert. The curry Pan appetizers are super greasy though. Last night, the spaghetti was not very good and we left most of it un-eaten — when asked about how we liked the food and we told them it was not that good, there was no offer to replace it or otherwise. It can also have long lines at peak times, and be slightly noisy.

Prelims: a nice clean restaurant, there isn’t really much to describe in terms of décor or atmosphere — it’s your standard restaurant with servers and some décor to match the theme of curry house. The service is pretty decent, as they come by quickly to take our order and give you water, and come once or twice more to check up on you after you get your food. It didn’t take too long to get the food either. Parking is pretty normal; don’t try to get the small slots right next to it. The spots in the actual lot are much bigger. I ordered the seafood curry — it’s pretty good and I got it based on the recommendation of my wife. It was pretty good, with the nice spice and flavor meshing well with the seafood and the rice. Unfortunately, they didn’t give as much as I would have liked, but that’s a toss-up. You may want to consider getting an appetizer if curry flavored rice isn’t a good enough filler for you. The salad dressing is pretty good as well — go for it if you’ve never had it. My wife loves it — she buys a bottle to bring home all the time.

I previously rated this restaurant and gave them only four stars because I was being irrational re: the fact that Curry House primarily serves curry. I’d like to amend the wrongs I have made in the past and correct this by giving Curry House the five stars it deserves. The curry at Curry House is bomb. Like so good. My favorite curry in the whole wide world. The staff is so friendly and kind and personable. They take good care of my family, who are regulars. They also are great to the kids and often give them little toys and crayons. I also think I misspoke, Curry House has more non-curry alternatives than I gave them credit for. Although, honestly, if you’re going to a place called«Curry House» you should probably get the curry. Thank you Curry House for being a constant staple in my life of delicious curry. Thank you for being so kind, and yes, delicious. I’d now give you 10 stars if I could!

I’m wasn’t impressed with this place. Absolutely not 4 – 5 star food. The food was OK, not great. I’ve had better Japanese pork katsu curry from the little hole in the walls at the Mitsuwa marketplace. The green salad had old brown lettuce mixed in and the dressing was a little too bitter for my taste. The curry was ordered«hot», though was not hot at all. Not even close to spicy. I asked what gives, the server said that if you want it to be actually spicy with a mouth tingle, you need to order it «extra hot» or ‘super hot” for an extra charge. OK. The pork was tough and not hot temp wise so it didn’t seem to be freshly fried. Wife ordered Veggie curry set. Only one potato in her curry, veggies were not fresh. She got the fried sesame chicken on the side instead of the wieners and actually said that was the best part of the meal(better than curry). I don’t think we’ll be back.

Location: We don’t get to this location very often, but it’s very close to Del Amo Mall on Hawthorne in Torrance. It’s not quite in «restaurant row», but in the strip mall next to it. It’s close to a Bevmo and across the way from a Starbucks. It’s a smallish location, but they do have a big red sign that says CURRYHOUSE. Parking is generally okay since there are so many stores/restaurants right around there, but around dinner time or on weekends you may have to park somewhat far away. Service: The wait was about 5 minutes on a Friday night around 7:30pm. When we walked in there were several empty tables, and yet we had to wait and a family of 4 next to us was already waiting. We all got seated within that 5 minutes, but it was just kind of weird we had to wait at all. Oh well. We hadn’t been here in a very long time so they had changed the menu on me. Drinks came out quickly while we considered our choices. After our waiter brought us our drinks and took our order, we literally never saw him again. Someone else refilled our waters, another guy brought us our food, and the manager brought us our check. I don’t know if they do group service at this restaurant? Well, no complaints really since the«group» was on top of it. Food: Needless to say, we ordered curry. My husband got chicken curry(hot) and I got veggie curry with tofu(medium). A new option(and I say new because it was new to me) is to get soup instead of salad. We both chose to get corn potage soup. I’m a little bit of a corn freak so when given the option, I always get something with corn. The soup was decent — a little grainy with yellow corn, but it’s what I expected. Corn potage is not a fancy soup. Another new thing to me was that the curries were served in oblong shaped«bowls». This I was not entirely pleased with. You used to get a plate with rice and curry served in a bowl on the side. I liked this option because you could put whatever amount of curry on that YOU wanted. I don’t personally like my rice to be soaked in sauce/curry so I don’t put a whole lot. With it being served in the same dish, it was almost impossible to avoid that. Also, there was a whole lot more curry than rice in the dish so if you mix the whole thing(like my husband did), you end up with more of a thick curry stew. I do have to say the curry itself was not bad and if you like having your rice soaked/covered in sauce, then you will love this. Overall: Curry is good, but now I know I need to ask for curry on the side next time I go instead. Maybe I will try the curry set next time… comes with a smaller portion of curry, rice, soup, and choice of meat/veggies.

One of the most comfortable restaurants I have ever been to. A quiet family atmosphere that almost feels like eating in my own home. With great food on top of that! I had the chicken katsu deluxe curry and it was amazing! Very amazing comfort food. I will definitely be coming back.

Delicious Japanese style curry plates with decent service. Came in to order take out over the weekend as we were staying at the Marriott across the way. Our food came in some really nice containers and they gave us a healthy serving of curry with our katsu. I also ordered a curry pan and a side order of corn soup. The corn soup was delicious! Highly recommend it. The curry pan was on the heavier side. Essentially a fried donut with curry and veggies inside.

This is a great place to come with family or friends. The menu is very diverse. I’ve come here a couple of times and the quality has been very consistent. I always get the curry. This place has a bit thicker consistency of Japanese curry, which some people might be thrown off by. The corn soup here is delicious and my friend really enjoys their salad, especially the dressing. The portions are also pretty huge. Service is great and the place is clean.

Their menu changed recently, so prices have gone up, and food selection/arrangement is a little different. Nonetheless, Curry House is a dependable, hassle-free establishment that always delivers on point. There is never a wait for a table when we go, and the service and wait time for food is always prompt. My wife’s new favorite is the curry soup udon. I stick with the chicken katsu leg curry, choosing to upgrade to the deluxe omelette rice if I’m feeling particularly daring on certain days. Their hayashi omelette rice and creamy chicken and shemeji spaghetti are also in our rotation.

I’ve been coming to this Curry House since I was in elementary school, and I have to say I come back because of the consistency of this restaurant. The manager has been at this location for years and years now, and I can honestly say the quality is the same every single time we come here. The service is always very fast and friendly. I used to get the kids meals when I was really small, but now I switch it up between the beef curry rice and the ground chicken curry(which are my top faves). But don’t limit yourself to just those two dishes, the menu is very diverse here and they are always bringing in new dishes every so often. They just updated their menu this year actually! The corn soup and the japanese salad are always delicious starters. They provide fresh pickles at each table to top your curries(I usually add piles of these). Everything I have tried at curry house has not left me disappointed. The portions are also usually very large, so I usually can take back leftovers for lunch the next day. It’s a great place to eat with friends, family, dates, etc.

My first visit to this location and I left pretty happy! I’ve been to the one in Little Tokyo in DTLA many times. This one is much easier to park at. First off, I came my wife and two young kids to meet our friends and their kid. The staff was very accommodating with getting us a big enough table. They even brought us an extra chair to help catch the baby’s car seat in case it tipped over without us asking. I love that initiative and customer service. They also brought over coloring paper and crayons for the kids. A great family restaurant, excellent for kids! I got the Deluxe Menchi Katsu Curry which was its usual awesomeness. Generous portions of rice pilaf on curry with an egg and breaded hamburger patty on top. Served with a fresh salad. My favorite is their red pickles which they have in a little jar on every table. I empty out almost the whole jar every time! My 2 year old daughter had the Kid’s Spaghetti meal. It came with corn chowder, spaghetti w/meat sauce, corn, french fries, a fried shrimp, and an orange wedge. She ATEITUP! And what’s there not to like? It’s a kid’s dream! Everyone left full and satisified!

This CH location is located in a highly trafficked area of Torrance. If you go during peak lunch/dinner times the resto and parking lot can get very crowded. This outlet is pretty identical in food quality to all the other locations I’ve visited. Ordered my usual chicken curry plate and as always my rice was perfectly cooked and the chicken curry(medium spicy) was delicious. I always add a little chili oil and the pickled white onions(you have to request these and they’ll bring it to you from the back) to add a touch more heat and vinegary/sweet contrast and crunch. My one gripe with yesterday’s lunch visit was our waitress. When we were all done eating, we waited… and waited but she was nowhere to be seen. We wanted to get our check so we could get out of there and head back to work but she wasn’t visible in the dining area. We got tired of waiting so we flagged down another wait staff and finally received our bill(some 15 mins after we were ready to leave). So for that reason I’m giving this CH a 3 star rating. Good food but spotty service.

Service here is always on point. Hosts, servers, managers, everyone. I’ve never had a bad experience and not only that, but everyone is just extremely NICE. I typically order the curry udon or the seafood curry. Both are SO good every single time. Sometimes I’ll order the potato croquette(yum) and I always get their corn potage soup. If there’s anything you MUST try, it’s their corn potage soup. I’ve never had anything like it anywhere else and it’s amazingly good. I’ve never had to wait long for a table even during prime dinner hours, which is surprising. If you’re feeling like dessert afterwards, Yogurtland is a few steps away!

Curry crush! I’ve got a curry crush! I’ve always loved curry dishes and it’s a wonder that I havent visited Curry House in years. After not coming here for a long time, I visited recently and my curry crush was peaked. My friend and I both got deluxe curry dishes. Deluxe curry dishes come with curry rice pilaf wrapped in egg topped with your choice of meat and served with curry sauce. Curry sauce can come in mild, medium or hot. I got the deluxe katsu curry dish with chicken breast. I liked this dish a lot. The portion is pretty big and comes with a decent amount of crispy chicken breast. The egg and rice pilaf is a nice touch. The rice pilaf is like curry rice. I loved drizzling my curry sauce all over the egg, rice and the chicken. Thick curry sauce, tasty rice and crispy chicken, I was one happy foodie with a curry crush that day. I also want to try their various pasta dishes next time I come here. Those looked delcious. Hmm, I think I got a pasta crush too. Oh no I may just be torn between two loves. Curry or pasta, who will win my heart next time? ;)

I am surprised I haven’t done a review on this location. Located behind the Torrance«Restaurant Row» across from Little Company of Mary is this Curry House. Its been here for years, back when I used to work in the South Bay in the 1990s. Curry House is a small chain restaurant serving up Japanese curry and spaghetti. The Japanese curry is more like mole, where there’s a ting of sweetness to their curry sauce. Unlike Indian curry the mild version does not have a kick to it, and its more of a gravy with the taste of curry spices. If you’re not a fan of curry, they also have other items, such as their spaghetti, and hamburger, and even teriyaki items. Many Japanese curry«purist» will say this is not the best curry and they’re probably right. But, its affordable, it’s tasty, and they’re quick(for a sit down place). If you sign up for their emails, they send you discounts such as 20%-30% off your food entrees. Service is friendly and usually on point. I can’t find any real fault in this location, and its a great place to come with friends.

Service was very good as usual from when they sat us down to the last refill of iced tea. I like that all the staff work together to provide efficient service. I ordered the chicken Katsu curry and that was yummy except they were a bit heavy handed with the salt in the curry this time sooooo it was a good thing that it sits on the side of the plate. I still like this place a lot. I like the food quality at the one in Tokyo town better though, hands down.
