Fredrick N Wolk, MD

Dr. Wolk is very up to date on treatments and use of technology. He is personable and caring, a straight talker but can be funny sometimes. He has changed his staff and they are much more helpful and friendly and positive. So sad his ultrasound technician left. She was awesome.

Dr. Wolk is a no BS, straight talking, egomaniacal, genius. A real life Dr. House. My dream come true. Better pay attention while you’re there or you might miss out on the show.

Dr. Wolk’s staff is not the friendliest, nor most helpful (with the exception of Leanna, his P.A. who is the only one who seems to be friendly and willing to answer any questions).
And Dr. Wolk, while amiable and funny, seems rather disorganized and scattered. I’ve had to repeat myself (recap the issues) with him at each session, because although he supposedly takes notes on his computer, they must not be very accurate as he never seems to recall what was discussed at the last appointment. He also often changes his mind or contradicts himself on the spot. Many a time I’ve walked out of there feeling like I’ve just finished a marathon pinball game. (Eeesh!)
Also, if you make an appointment with him, be prepared to wait. The office waiting room is usually full and for some reason — really hot — as if they don’t want to spend money on turning on the air conditioning, or something. Come to think of it, maybe that’s why the staff is always in a bad mood; I would be too if I had to work 8 hour days in a sauna. :p

I was a little apprehensive about adding another doctor to my list, but after meeting Doctor Wolk I was okay. Doctor Wolk has a great personality and is able to put you at ease. He and his Nurse Practitioner, Shirley, provided clear answers to my questions. Shirley also took time to call me to explain some procedures and tests that were needed. Today I had a procedure done that sounded a little scary, but again I was put at ease. All in all I had a good experience and would recommend Doctor Wolk to others.
