Good value if you get one of the various available discounts, last time I went I used a groupon. Wide assortment of flavors, including ice cream, but most importantly the ice is the proper texture and not crunchy at all. It also all tastes good. The people are also nice, last time I went I was on crutches and the lady working carried my ice out to my car for me.

Carl helped us out pick out some new flavors. The shaved ice is amazing. I recommend the flavor let them eat cake or berrylicious. All the ingredients are fresh and the staff is super friendly. My go to place for shaved ice, my whole family loves it.

I love this place! Service is always great but today it was not at all great. While I was ordering the cashier was talking to another employee… and kept asking me about my order, he was obviously not paying attention if I had to keep repeating it to him. When I got my order it was wrong and had NO ice cream at all. I’m sure it was all because the on going conversation he was having with the employee. I stayed to eat my dessert and I noticed as he was ringing up other customers he was still chatting with the employee, this is very unacceptable and rude. Awful customer service.

5 stars all around! The 1^st time I had this they came to my job for an employee appreciation day and I was hooked! I looked them up and followed their mobile truck a few times. My favorite is the cherry :) tasty treat that the whole family loves! If it’s cold bring a sweater because the ice gets your body cold. I’ve tried shaved ice at other places and nothing compares to here. The ice is so good and the flavor they use is high quality and not cheap tasting like I’ve tasted at other places :) enjoy this amazing place

Get Shaved started as a food truck in 2008 and now there are four brick-​and-​mortar stores located across Los Angeles (two in Northridge, one in Sherman Oaks, and one in Torrance).
There are four different sizes to choose from — UFO (basically mini), regular, medium, and large. UFO size is a great idea because I have become more self aware of my sugar intake level. You can choose one of the twelve pre-​customized combos or create your own shaved ice (choose up to 3 flavors). Additional scoops of ice cream & toppings will cost you extra.
Don’t forget to use the Unilocal check-​in offer (one free goodie [e.g. ice cream, mochi ball, azuki beans] with shave ice purchase) and there’s even a happy hour menu on weekdays from 12 – 2 PM & 5 – 7 PM (see below).
Monday: $ 1 off any shave ice
Tuesday: $ 2 regular shave ice
Wednesday: Buy 1 cookie sandwich and get 2^nd one for $ 1
Thursday: Buy 1 shake and get 2^nd one for $ 2

#4 Monkey Brains (strawberry & banana shave ice w/​sweetened condensed milk, UFO size $ 2.99 + one additional scoop of macadamia nut ice cream for $ 1): Good quality shave ice & ice cream (actually macadamia ice cream wasn’t too bad at all). Syrup wasn’t as sweet as other Hawaiian shaved ice places and the portion was just right.

I love it here the ice is amazing and so is the pineapple coconut ice cream! sadly today when I got my order, there were multiple small black hairs in my ice cream and ice, kind of grossed me out :/​like every 3 scoops i’d find another hair which really messed up my experience. I’ve come here a lot and this is the first time it’s happened, I’ll come again but if I find more hairs I might have to find a new shave ice place.

Went there a couple of years ago and it was really good. No more ice cream for me though now. Boo hoo

The 5 stars say it all. It’s as good as gettin’ it on da Island! They have 4 convenient sizes, a whole host of flavors, and a number of options for the ice cream. Most places offer vanilla or macnut. These guys have 5+ options! The quality of the shaved ice is light and fluffy. The flavors are authentic!
One of the cool features is that they put a domed cap which has a large hole on top to stick a spoon through. This keeps everything nice and tidy!

My wife and I love Get Shaved so much that we got them to cater at our wedding. Our advice is that if it’s your first time, get the Monkey Brains and add in the pineapple coconut ice cream. No matter what you get, make sure the condensed milk topping is applied. Tigers blood and Blue Raspberry flavors are so good here too.

Delicious shaved ice!
I came in on a Wednesday night, an hour before closing, and avoided the lines mentioned by the other Unilocalers.
There’s a menu with their favorite flavor combinations or you can choose the flavors yourself. You also have the option of adding a scoop of ice cream (which I highly suggest).
I got the monkey brains (strawberry & banana flavored shaved ice) with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. This was a perfect combination of flavors. The shaved ice is very soft and finely shaved. The syrup was not too sweet which was great. And the addition of the ice cream adds a nice creamy texture to the dessert. The UFO size (the smallest size) may look small but it was the perfect size for me.
The service was amazing! The ladies are very nice and helpful, since it was my first time here!

Overall a good experience, not great. The shaved ice is tasty and it is $ 1 to add your choice of ice cream inside, I usually get the vanilla bean since it goes well with a lot of flavors.
However, the sizes are much smaller compared to other shaved ice joints!
My cousin ordered the nutella ice cream thinking it was… nutella ice cream… she tasted it and it barely had a hint of chocolate and tasted more like vanilla. I told the worker that we ordered nutella ice cream and he told us that it isn’t actually nutella ice cream, it is in fact CHOCOLATE MILK FLAVOR. They shouldn’t be advertising nutella ice cream if it doesn’t use nutella and it isn’t nutella ice cream. Should be called chocolate milk instead…
I would come here because I live close by. I may consider other locations if I am not in the area. Dont get me wrong, shaved ice is good here, but I just think its a better deal at other locations (more bang for the buck).

Get Shaved is my family’s go-​to spot for shaved ice. The sizes are perfect, and the wide range of flavors satisfy everyone.
I got a UFO size (smallest size they have, however is big enough for me) with cherry and blue raspberry, my favourite combination. The ice is finely shaved, and the generous flavored syrup tastes amazing.
My dad got a large shaved ice with lime, lychee, and POG, topped with a generous portion of li hing mui powder. My sister got a UFO size with POG and lilikoi. They both loved what they got.
Will definitely return here, as it is the perfect summer desert!

I remember when Get Shaved was the place to be in the summer time a few years ago. I used to come here often at least once a week to get some shaved ice or the ice cream sandwiches they served. But this review will be for the more recent times I’ve come.
Get Shaved has definitely come back with their quality ice cream, cookies, and of course their shaved ice. I like coming during the times when most people are still at their jobs or school so it’s not too crowded. The workers are all nice and very attendant to your questions and needs. Definitely a place to try if you’re in the South Bay Area.

I really have no excuse for staying away so long. I guess when I go to a Torrance, I usually stick closer to places along Hawthorne Bl. instead of near Western Ave.
I ordered the PassioNut combo shave ice with lilikoi, coconut, and melona with condensed milk and macadamia nut ice cream at the bottom. SO GOOD AND REFRESHING! I definitely felt like I was back in Hawaii.
The guys working were very nice, helpful, and friendly. I’ll be back more often… For sure!

Always wanted to try this place and I finally got to. The concept is clear, shaved ice with an assortment of flavors to choose from. You can also get it with condensed milk which makes it all the more creamier and delicious. You can also choose to get ice cream which they put on the bottom. I found myself eating all of the shaved ice first and then savoring the ice cream last, in that regard, it better be good ice cream! …it was =)
I chose to get cute with it and custom build mine. I got cookies and cream ice cream with shaved ice on top. My flavors for the shaved ice were orange creamsickle, strawberry and melona. I could not decipher where they put the orange creamsickle perhaps because it was hidden under the other flavors and with that, THIS IS MY TIP. Only get 2 flavors when getting shaved ice. It is the safer option and probably the cheaper option and you wont get screwed with poor execution. Bry got shaved ice with 3 flavors and it was well executed as all 3 colors/​flavors stood out. She ordered the «one love» and it was purdy good.

The shaved ice is so soft and fluffy. The flavors and dessert itself are so simple but with the shaved ice and a scoop of ice cream –heaven. Mmmmmm

Pretty average shaved ice location. Prices aren’t steep nor are they cheap.
Most flavor combinations don’t work out well and I don’t feel the staff are overly helpful with recommendations. I had a group on for 5 shaved ices and was only really pleased with one or two of the flavor combinations.
If you want to go I recommend taking your time, picking a guaranteed good flavor combo then ordering.
I actually prefer my iced here without the condensed milk or sour flavoring. Just ice and ice cream.

It’s always a good time getting a chance to visit this place whenever I’m down SoCal. Good service, extensive menu, quality ingredients and combos.
They’re generous with their portions too, so don’t be deceived by their small sizes. It may look like an empty sample in the front, but once they fill that up with your choice of shaved ice and ice cream… without the lid, it’d be balancing act while your eat!

I have to make a stop at Get Shaved almost every time I’m in Southern California. Luckily it was by my friend’s house so we stopped by after dinner… even though it was about 40 degrees outside! Loyalty!
On this visit, much like my other ones, I got the POG (passion orange guava) flavor shaved ice, UFO size, with vanilla ice cream. This time I added Melona flavor too. It was a really fruity tropical mix, I would recommend pairing those flavors! Vanilla is a generic flavor to go with but it goes with everything. They have really cool ice cream flavors here like nutella and toasted marshmallow but they just didn’t seem to go with my shaved ice flavors very well.
The UFO size looks small but it’s really packed inside so it’s plenty to satisfy your shaved ice craving. The shop is really bold and colorful inside — wish we had a place like this at home!

Get Shaved is located in a shopping plaza with Ralphs Market. Known for their Hawaiian-​style shave ice, their ice is finely shaved, and the syrups are sweet and tasty. Make your own personalized dessert, or try one of their «Tried and True Combos,» including the always-​popular Rainbow Shave Ice and «Monkey Brains.» They also offer ice cream cookie sandwiches and shakes.
Parking:
There is plenty of parking in the large lot shared by the market and a couple other businesses along the same strip.
Ambiance:
This location is pretty small, and the line is usually out the door. When it gets crowded, sometimes if can be difficult to find a place to wait for your order. There are a few tables inside. The indoor area is generally clean, but the sidewalks outside are always sticky.
** Steps for Ordering:
1.) Choose your size — UFO, Small, Medium, or Large
2.) Choose your goodies — Add azuki beans, mochi balls, or ice cream for $ 0.50 each. They use Cascade Glacier Ice Cream, including specialty flavors like Nutella, Coffee Cookie, Macadamia Nut, Maui Waui Sherbet, Coconut Pineapple, etc.
3.) Choose up to 3 flavors — 31 different options, as well as sugar-​free flavors. Unique flavors include Boysenberry, Green Tea, Lilikoi, Melona, Orange Creamsicle, POG (Passion Orange Guava), and Taro.
4.) Choose your toppings — First one is free; each additional topping is $ 0.15. Choose from Sweetened Condensed Milk, Li Hing Mui Powder, Pico de Gallo Powder, Sour Spray, Caramel, or Marshmallow.
My go-​to order is a POG Shave Ice with Condensed Milk and Vanilla Ice Cream. This flavor provides the perfect blend of tropical fruits. I love the creaminess created when the ice mixes with the ice cream, and the condensed milk gives it a little extra milky sweetness! It really brings the shave ice together!
