New review: Went a second time to try and use my Groupon again. The employees(with the exception of the woman mentioned below) are really wonderful. Make sure to order your food spicy! Very good. Old review: Very disappointed. Bought the Groupon and ordered over the phone, not realizing it was dine-in only. When I arrived the woman who took my order was sitting by the register eating her own lunch. I pulled up the Groupon and she told me it was for dine-in only. I said, «Oh, I didn’t know. Well, can I change to dine-in then?» and she said no! I didn’t have enough money to pay for the food otherwise, which I told her and the man ringing me up, and she just shrugged, again saying I couldn’t use the Groupon. Bad management, I was totally willing to sit down and eat so I could pay for what I had ordered. What a waste.

1.0 star rating 5÷15÷2016 Avoid ever going to kabab curry of India 1.30 pm for lunch buffet you might be scraping th pan for food. Walked into the restaurant at around 1.40 pm today. Whereas most institutions should be well busy at this hour especially with a $ 12.95 lunch buffet, the restaurant was about 40% empty. Without giving it much thought, I gave it a try. Yes, their lunch buffet has a nice selection on the signage but no food on any of the cheffing dish. the owner was the one who suggest the buffet. my wife and a friend walk up to the buffet to my surprise all the pan empty hardly any food in it last pan had butter chicken. I felt live this is a joke. Kept quit about because of my friend he eats there two or three times a week being alone. every 15 min they fill a pan you see all the eyes on the buffet guest all jump and run what a joke . If the food is out why did the owner suggest the buffet I would be happy to order from the menu. Instead of us trying to scrape the pan making us walking up for each item when they refill at there convenience. GOODLUCK

Came here on a weekday night with my boyfriend. We were seated immediately. Very warm and inviting server. I ordered the chicken makhani and he ordered the chicken curry, with a side of rice. Pros: — They brought out complimentary papadum with 2 dipping sauces — one sweet(peach???) and one savory(tasted minty/herby). Not my cup of tea, but definitely a nice gesture! — Very friendly staff. So sweet and so patient. — Great indian food. The chicken curry is very good, but man oh man. The chicken makhani was absolute heaven. Will definitely come back for that! — Spacious, clean, and cute! Cons: — It doesn’t come with a side of rice or naan, so you’ll have to order that separately. However, if you do end up ordering a side of rice, it’s a pretty hefty portion. My boyfriend and I split it and we were both very satisfied. — Pretty pricey. It’s about $ 13 – 15 per plate, and then you’ll need to order a side of rice or naan.

This place always satisfies my cravings for Indian curries, korma, and tikka masala dishes. Beef curry, Vegetable korma, and Chicken tikka masala are my favorites, but everything else I have tried has been delicious as well. Here’s a tip: Unilocal makes it super easy to order online and usually the order is ready in ~20 minutes if they’re not too busy. I once had to wait a little longer for my order, but they more than made up for it by giving me some samosas on the house. I love businesses that do that — makes me want to come here all the more.

I LOVE that they have halal chicken and lamb. There are a lot of different parts of India and they each specialize in different foods. Kinda like how the South does good fried chicken and Texas has good bbq. You wouldn’t go to Maine and expect great bbq but you would expect amazing lobster. Know what I mean? Anyways this place does veg and Punjabi food really well. The Aaloo Palak was really good but the lamb karahi was ehh and for $ 15 that was disappointing. This place is definitely not cheap. The veg dishes are around ~$ 9.00 The nonveg $ 15.00 The naan is $ 3.00! They’re $ 1.00 everywhere else in Torrance. Anyways the palak was good, the tandoori mix plate($ 20.00) was good too. I liked the different selections in the plate(the shrimp and fish were different and yummy).

Go to Angara if you want actual Indian food. My boyfriend and I ordered to go because Angara was closed and we really wanted Indian food. First off, for 10.95 a dish you’d think they’d give you a good sized portion but no they give you enough if you’re a baby lol Angara charges 1 to 2 dollars less and gives you enough for 2 people for 2 – 3 days. Then … we tried it. It was disgusting. My boyfriend said it was«good enough» but he’s much nicer than I am lol I looked at him and said, let’s never go here again. I’m only giving it a 1 star because Unilocal is forcing me too. Don’t go here. save your money. Try Angara. You won’t regret it.

I should make this a regular stop — — everytime I come here the vast array of dishes is nothing short of outstanding and oh so enjoyable ! Very tender, fall off the bone Beef Karachi in a splendid gravy ! Perfectly cooked chicken breast meat in the Chicken Tika Masala, enveloped in a rich and creamy and mild sauce ! Each dish has its own character of flavors, thoughtfully chosen herb and spices. Very tasty Lentil Daal, Saag Spinach, Potato and Delicate Spinach Aloo Palak. Vegetable Korma is another favorite dish, especially nice atop the fine grained aromatic Rice. Rice Pudding is among the irresistible desserts. Check out the Stuffed Mango, Pineapple or Coconut. Try a very refreshing Mango Lassi, Indian Spice Tea or Chai is also served. All in all, this place offers a great variety of wonderful dishes that is really hard to beat, even by places charging much more ! Do stop by and give this place a try !

My boyfriend and I love this place! We come here once a week. This is our favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The curries are spiced & prepared to perfection. We’ve had the chicken & prawn curries and the vegetable dishes. All have been outstanding. The owners are genuinely nice people who go out of their way to come by with greetings.

Consistently good, flavorful Indian food. We’ve eaten here three times now and have yet to have a bad meal. We’ve tried the Tandoori chicken, coconut curry chicken, and chicken Tika Masala. All were good size portions with a single entrée being enough for two people with rice. The chicken has been tender and juicy. I love it because the chicken is all trimmed very nicely with no weird bits on it. I don’t care to recite all the other elaborate names of the other things we’ve tried but we’ve had a few of the other appetizers and veggie sides and have been happy with them all as well. Garlic Na’an is always a must. Service is a tad on the slower side but not bad and the nice dude is always friendly and smiling with us. It’s fun watching the Indian MTV they’ve always got on too. =)

Came here on a Wednesday night after reading some of the reviews on Unilocal,as being an out of towner it’s the way I roll. It started out well with popadoms and sauce, complimentary, and I ordered the meat samosas as a starter. This is where is went down hill. The samosas were as dry as a camels fart, I had to soak them in the sauce that came with them. But I’m an optimistic guy and waited for the coconut chicken curry and plain rice with kabuli naan bread. The rice was rice, pretty much what I expected and the curry was actually pretty good, but the bread… well I believe the bread was farted out by the original camels cousin. So all in all I was a bit disappointed and can’t say I’d come back again.

Having had both the dine in and delivery experience, I honestly cannot understand any of the negative reviews. Dining in, there’s never a wait. I’ve gone for both lunch and dinner and they accepted my groupon both times. The food is delicious and the portions are huge! Large enough for both my boyfriend and I to share and still have leftovers to eat the next day. The service is slow at times but the staff is always attentive and nice. And I love the Bollywood videos! As for delivery, I just ordered from them for the first time tonight. Not only did my food arrive 20 minutes early on a Friday night at what is usually a busy dinner hour, it was piping hot, and the portion size is gigantic. See for yourself. So in defense of Kabob Curry of India, thank you so much for your delicious food, great dining experience, and fast delivery service!

Kabob Curry of India specializes in Northern Indian cuisine. I had to look up what«Northern» Indian food was and found that North India has an abundance of fresh seasonal fruit and vegetable because of its geographical position with relation to the rest of the Sub-continent. That means that this region of the country has had strong Central Asian influences both in its culture and its food. The style of curries usually have thick, moderately spicy and creamy gravies. The use of dried fruits and nuts is fairly common even in everyday foods, and dairy product like milk, cream, cottage cheese, ghee(clarified butter) and yoghurt play an important role in the cooking of both savory and sweet dishes. Even though this place has been here for years, we came here on a Friday night and the place wasn’t very busy. I think most people must take their food to go, as the man who greeted me asked if I was here to «pick up». During the week, they offer a lunch buffet from 11:30 — 2:30, and a champagne brunch on Saturdays, as well as local delivery service. While going through the menu, an order of papadum was placed on the table. Papadum are crisp lentil crackers that are slightly spiced, and typically served as an appetizer or snack. Chickpeas is another ingredient that can be used, and served on the side were a tamarind and mint chutney sauce. For dinner, we decided on sharing our food family style and ordered — Chicken tikka masala, which is chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, and served in a creamy tomato sauce — Aloo matar, a Punjabi dish which is made from potatoes and peas in a spiced creamy tomato based sauce. It is a vegetarian dish where the sauce is generally cooked with garlic, ginger, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, cumin seeds and other spices — Plain Basmati rice, which is a long, slender grain aromatic rice commonly used in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. The food was very good, and it was even nicer that we had a Groupon to use. With the discount, our balance for dinner was less than $ 4. We added a generous tip, and still saved money on a great meal. I’m not sure if I’d come back without a Groupon but give this place 3.5 stars for this.

The sad thing? The food is actually delicious. The shitty thing is that the service was the worst. I ordered through grub hub because I am new to the area and have yet to find a decent Indian place. However, when I ordered my Malai Kofta there was no option to add rice or not. Previously in my experiences ordering Indian cuisine, you are given rice– How else would you eat your entrée? My food ended up arriving almost an entire hour late(7:35 pm estimated and didn’t get here until 8:20), and when I opened the bag once the delivery person left I realized there was no rice in the bag. When I call the restaurant to inform them, I am told I must have skipped he option to add rice(see photo where they do not have an option), and that Indian entrees always come a la carte. The gentleman on the phone just kept saying I missed the option, to the point where I said not to worry that I would never be ordering from them again. So next time you get the feeling you want to order some Indian food, maybe order somewhere else. Somewhere where you spend $ 33 and are given a $.25 cup of hot rice with which to eat your food. Totally Bunk.

Kabab Curry is located next to Starbucks and a few other restaurants. To get there from Crenshaw, if you’re coming from the North you’ll have to make a u-turn and then enter; if you just make a left into the entrance you’ll enter the AMC, Bed Bath & Beyond, Islands Restaurant entrance and then have to go back out. Also, don’t make the same mistake I did and sit down in the Pakistani restaurant next door. They’re very nice about it though and the menu looked great! So Kabab Curry is the Indian restaurant, I came in with a Groupon which I think is very popular as a couple of other tables were using it as well. It’s a big place, sparsely decorated with 2 large LEDTV’s hung up showing Indian Bollywood movies. They also serve lunch buffet which is along the wall close to the entrance. I didn’t try the buffet or see the food so can’t comment on it. For dinner I had meat samosas(2pcs), butter chicken curry, basmati rice, and plain naan which came out to $ 27 on a $ 25 Groupon. Not bad! And the food was great. They serve you a lot and come by quite often to fill your water glass. The chicken was extremely tender, and the curry sauce that comes with it was delicious and creamy. Reminded me of London style Indian curry which I love. They have a big variety of food, most of the same sauces can be ordered with lamb, beef or vegetarian. I was completely stuffed and brought more than half of it home, mostly because the samosas filled me up. The Groupon is a really good value, but even without it I’d still come here because I enjoyed the food and service. Maybe next time I’ll come and check out the buffet. Would recommend!

Avoid even if bargain Groupon or the lunch buffet($ 10.95) tempts you! Walked into the restaurant at around noon today. Whereas most institutions should be well busy at this hour especially with a $ 10.95 lunch buffet, the restaurant was about 85% empty. Without giving it much thought, I gave it a try. Yes, their lunch buffet has a nice selection, from chutney, yogurt, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala to pastry ball and fruit for dessert BUTNONEOFITISWORTHTRADINGFORANUPSETSTOMACH! The moment I bit into the tandoori chicken, the meat already tasted a little funny, but I thought that maybe another piece wouldn’t be the same. Boy, was I wrong, and boy am I paying the cost of it now. The saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t waste your time at this institution, go to the Persian next door instead.

I met up with an old friend from high school, and we decided to eat here. It was a good choice, as the food was above and beyond tasty. I am a big fan of Indian food, particularly for the spices used. I love spicy food, so I always ask them to make it nuclear. I ordered my favorite Indian dish, chicken tiki masala, with some specialty naan, and Indian chai. The chicken was great, it came in abundance, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. The specialty naan was extra delicious, and it had spices and cheese baked into it. I liked the tea for it’s spicy flavor, and adds a nice variety of flavor to the tea stash at home: green and Persian tea. They have a nice décor, and play Bollywood movies on their two flat-panel TVs. I’ve always liked Indian films, so that was a nice plus to the dining experience. For your Indian food fix in south Torrance, come here.

Buy the groupon for this place, or yes I agree it was pretty expensive. I don’t know why some rate this place so low, because I think the food is pretty solid. I’ve tried the chicken and lamb curry, the tikka masala, the tandoori, and the chicken saag. Everything was flavorful, the meats were tender and seasoned well, and I’ve enjoyed each one. One downfall to some people is that the curries don’t come with rice, but I always order a side of garlic naan and like eating my curries with that. The naan is yummy. Customer service is good too. The man that’s always working is nice and helpful. Accommodating as well. Can make the curries with cream or oil, so that was nice. Although not the best in the area, it is very good. Most convenient for me, plus the groupon sweetness the deal

Could not pass up the Groupon deal $ 25 for $ 13 but wait… Groupon made it sweeter by having their $ 5.00 deal specials one day. So I bought the $ 5 deal. Clean establishment Friendly wait staff but slow service Ample parking spaces. The food was OK but a bit pricey. The Groupon did not apply to the lunch buffet special. Our lunch for two came to $ 40 minus the Groupon $ 25 = $ 15 plus tax.

Suckered by the Groupon again. We called ahead and tried to get the terms of the Groupon straight. They said lunch was until 4:30PM, so we show up at 4:00PM and they said the lunch menu off the table and it’s dinner now. Then he told us the Groupon didn’t apply to lunch because there was a buffet. But there was no buffet because it was dinner now according to them, so I don’t know where this conversation was headed. After some more confusion, he ended up taking the Groupon. Okay, whatever. We order off the dinner menu. Entrees were kinda pricey and served a la carte… the curry doesn’t even come with rice. I got some garlic naan and some samosas, and was underwhelmed. The best thing was probably the biryani, but next time I think I’ll just stick to the alleged lunch buffet.
