As I have said in previous reviews, I need to be motivated by a positive experience in order to write a review. I stopped here at M&M Liquor yesterday and had such an experience. I actually grew up coming to this liquor store because it was on my way home from school and all the kids would stop here to buy candy. Back then it was called Martha’s Liquor and the owners were super friendly and knew everyone. At some point it changed to M&M and I stopped coming here up until recently. Enough nostalgia, back to my review! I stopped here a few months ago when I needed to buy alcohol for a family party, but didn’t feel like fighting the crowds at Ralph’s or Total Wine & More down the street. Much to my surprise, their prices were very low. Much lower than the liquor stores in Palos Verdes or San Pedro. So needless to say, I’ve been stopping here when I’m in the area because they have a big selection, low prices, and it’s a quick in and out. Despite all of this, I still wasn’t motivated to write a review until yesterday. I stopped to buy 60 lottery tickets to give as a gift. The guy behind the counter was very friendly but he shorted me by 10 tickets. I didn’t realize this until I got to my moms and started to put them into an envelope. I dreaded driving back because I had the feeling that the guy wasn’t going to believe me. Much to my surprise, he was very apologetic and didn’t hesitate to say that he trusted me. In my experience, this is actually rare. Anytime I’ve gone back to a place to say that I’ve been shorted or that items were missing, they usually don’t believe me and I’m out of luck. It was very refreshing to have such a nice experience at a liquor store of all places! So if you’re in the area and need to make a fast and easy purchase at a competitive price, this is the place!
