How can Dr. Murakami not have any Unilocal reviews yet?! Well, let me be the first to review!
Dr. Murakami has been our family dentist since the mid 90’s. Before that, our family dentist was his Uncle, Dr. Mizushima. If you’ve never been to a Japanese American dentist, then I’m sorry.
I’m sure most of us Japanese Americans in LA have our own family dentist that we absolutely love and Dr. Murakami is no different. When I was a small child, I remember other kids fearing going to the dentist. I actually looked forward to it.
I knew that I would never feel him poking or prodding in my mouth. If I had a cavity, I never felt the needle — in fact, I never even knew he was using a needle. He’d keep it out of view and numb the area first.
I always looked forward to the little goody bag he’d give us kids at the end of every dental visit. Yep, I’m in my 30’s now and still going to Dr. Murakami. No kid grab bag but he still gives us little bags filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, dental floss, etc.
I’m still working on this, but when he tells you to floss your teeth you probably should!
