It is the same quality as the expensive hibachi restaurant across town but way less expensive. The staff is alway welcoming and the food is delicious

You cannot beat this place for affordability, the food is very good (maybe one step under Fuji quality), but service is friendly, fast and we haven’t had a bad meal there yet.
It never is very full, customer-​wise, but many people running in and out for take-​home. Maybe because it’s small… but quaint.
They have a spicy salmon roll that will make you wanna slap your mama! I fully intend to continue going often.

This restaurant stands out from the slew of Chinese restaurants in Torrington. A majority of the restaurants look and taste the same. This one sets itself apart with better quality and choices.
The food definitely tastes more homemade and authentic. The portions are pretty large and we can sometimes take some home for later. The prices are good considering portion size and quality.
The combos like habachi chicken come with the chicken, rice, vegetables and your choice of soup or salad. Both the salad and onion soup are great!
The staff is very nice and accommodating!

Hibachi Express is your basic brightly-​lit takeout restaurant, serving sushi, rolls, and the namesake hibachi. Open just three weeks when we ate there, it is clean and the service was speedy.
We tried the gyoza (average), spider roll (very good), crispy spicy salmon roll (average), and sumo roll (way too much cucumber that drowned out the fish).
Still a little hungry, we ordered the rather good salmon hibachi. The veggies were crisp an the fried rice less oily than is often the case.
Hibachi Express is a welcome addition to Asian row, joining the wonderful Vientane and Chinese takeout on Torrington’s west side.
