We absolutely loved our experience here. We were there for lunch with our 4 year old and found the menu to be very pleasing. The server was friendly and attentive without being over the top, PERFECT! Our food was delicious! The French Onion Chicken Sandwhich was fantastic and my husband devoured his Tilapia Francese! We would most certainly go back and recommend it to all

Good food and service. More like a NJ diner than anything else so you can get anything.

I go here at least twice a month. The pasta is enough for two meals, burgers are usually good too. I did have a burger that was not great once, but it was far from terrible. Cheesesteak and breakfast is always good. I try to never get the same thing twice. With the extensive menu that’s easy.

First time here even though it is local. Came for lunch. We had Philly Cheese Steak with peppers and onions and was delicious. Roast Beef sandwich with gravy on side. Our plates came with French fries(the delicious kind) a pickle and cole slaw. Place is clean, people were friendly, attentive service, easy parking and fair prices. The menu is like a diners, in that you can order lunch, dinner or breakfast at any time. They have an extensive menu. One thing missing was milk shake. It is the perfect type of place to expect milk shakes, but they don’t have them. I am going to try this place for breakfast. They also have take out and local delivery

Love this place! I order from here as much as possible and I’m always happy! I’m also a vegitarian and never have a problem finding something amazing to eat, or asking for something to be modified. They are super accommodating.

Never been to this joint, but I’ve had delivery from them a few times. And it rocks. I usually get the Country Burger(All the way is dope!) and Fries. I swear, their French Fries could honestly cure the beef between Meek Mill & Drake. They’re that good. These folks are prompt and rapid, and the prices are awesome. Give ‘em a visit. Or call for delivery if you’re close enough. :-)

Local joint with an enjoyable diner atmosphere. I had Nonna’s Limoncello Pancakes with Strawberries. Fresh and a very large portion for the price. Sweet enough that you don’t need syrup! Very tasty and fluffy pancakes! Excellent service! Will have to return to try one of there omelettes.

Place is ok for quick fix if in the area. Service is not bad but could use some improvement. Food quality is similar to a diner.

Every community has that one place the local residents always gravitate to. Hillery Street Café is that place for Totowa. Breakfast is great with a huge menu. Lunch and dinner also worth it. The atmosphere is what you would expect of a local favorite spot. Chances of running into your neighbor or someone you know is most likely to happen. It’s relaxing to sit and have a good meal and good conversation. Though local Hillery Street is a welcome place for everyone. It has recently changed ownership, but that is all. The new owners have kept all that makes this place good.

Food was excellent and service was top notch. Great neighborhood feel. Good parking as well. Would’ve gave 5 stars but was not satisfied with the turkey sausage and the«No Substitutions Please» at the bottom of the menu threw me off. That’ll never work. But the pancakes are great, the omelettes are great and the home fries are heavenly. Plus with the great prices, you can’t go wrong here.

I’ve eaten here for breakfast and lunch and have left satisfied. I’ve ordered French toast for breakfast and it was pretty basic but good. I’ve ordered a simple blt that I also enjoyed. Recently I ordered a panini with grilled chicken, bacon, cheese, avocado, and a pesto spread that was great except for the thick bread. I would ask for other bread options next time. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this place for a simple place to grab a quick bite.

This place is my go to lunch or breakfast spot. They have excellent service. The atmosphere is nice and laid back. The menu is like a diner menu– really good greasy food, but also healthier options of you’re looking for them. I’ve come here hungover needing cheese fries, soup when I was sick or for a quick tuna sandwich when I didn’t feel like making lunch. Prices are more than reasonable. Very clean. It’s definitely dependable.

Very good breakfast food home fries are well season and made to perfection and the pancakes are straight edible crack. The people are nice and all the food I have here is well prepared with homestyle taste

I’ve been here about three times. It’s in a random location and doesn’t look very appealing from the outside, BUT it really has some decent food! Inside the atmosphere is cozy and clean. The staff is always sweet and the food is good. I really enjoyed their grilled chicken salad. The french fries are greasy good. I tried the ruben sandwich and cheesecake — both were yummy. The price is fair as well. Definitely check this place out!

So, after my initial glowing review, I’ve been to Hillery 3 more times and probably will never return! I’ve had the same waiter every time and he is a nice guy, but service is lacking. For instance, I asked for a dessert menu and was told there was none(even though there’s a list of desserts on the back of the lunch menu) and when I asked about getting milkshakes(which that same menu mentions they have!!) he looked at me confused and asked what he should use to make it, and I told him, «Milk and Vanilla Ice Cream». Another time we ordered an Orange Crush and he looked at the machine and verified they did indeed sell orange soda — which he was visibly surprised, and mentioned he didn’t know they even had it. C’mon! I will say that the majority of the egg related breakfast foods are good. The French Toast is disgusting, though. We recently had lunch there and it was pathetic. I got a poor boy sandwich that the cut of roast beef was too fatty. I had to separate the fat, something the cook should have done, from the good meat so I could eat the sandwich. One person at our table got nachos and cheese and I’m not sure what nachos they used but they were terrible and the cheese was just theme park goop that you melt and pour — not the best! And the fries look like they are frozen — not fresh, at all, and they are the worst fries ever. Also, every time I have been here, I am swatting gnats. This last visit we had a family of six parked up around the light on the wall by us. I don’t associate gnats with uncleanliness, per se, but I do with ‘annoying’!! Had the pleasure of even overhearing the manger or owner(not sure who she is but you can tell she’s somebody of importance here) giving her daughter a lecture! I don’t come to hear about your personal business, sorry! Yeah, so that’s the brunt of it. After a good first experience, it has been downhill and a very fast trip down that hill. The waiters are too preoccupied with discussions amongst themselves, not familiar with their own menu(how to make a MILK shake — should I google this for you?), and gnats to share with your gooey cheese. Think I will save my money and go somewhere else!

What happened to Ray’s??? This place is a pretty low key, diner greasy spoon type place. It mainly caters to the Totowa/Paterson’s retired folk. I usually come here for Sunday brunch with my friend when we don’t feel like driving far or spend too much money in «Monopoly» Montclair. Don’t expect to see a blackboard with the names of the farms the ingredients came from. Thank God they don’t use every part of the animal here. I like my home fries crunchy not with thymus glands :)
