Whole Foods Market

This is for the Deli Hot Bar 7PM 12÷03÷15. After walking through the store looking at the great food displays thought would be nice to have dinner while the wife was getting her hair done nearby. Checked out the «Hot Bar» and thought would be a good alternative vs. a restaurant. While none of the options jumped out at me I tried the chicken chili verde on white rice, side of macaroni & cheese and a fruit crisp for dessert. 1. Tried to get my order rung up by the service staff in the pizza area next to the hot bar and seating area but was pointed to the main registers. Would it not make sense to be able to pay where you are going to eat if you have scales to weigh the food (8.99lb) at the pizza location? 2. Everything tasted rather bland and the rice was actually dried out in part due to being in the warmer too long. Expected a better culinary experience from Whole Foods even though this was a buffet type setup. 3. $ 14.51 including a canned drink seemed suprising for a moderate amount (1.3lbs) of food. (I am 5’10″ 190 lbs so I don’t think I am that big an eater)

Of course I will always love the Brentwood Whole Foods but sometimes it’s nice to head west and walk around in Town & Country. Why? It’s nice to just be able to walk up and down the aisles and actually look at the merchandise and read the labels without having to move because 3 other people are trying to get by you. It’s amazing that if I buy something I like at Town & Country and think they would never have it at Brentwood that they usually do. It’s just packed in there somewhere I never would have seen it. Great store!

You know, it’s pretty much the only place I can shop. If you’re allergic to dairy, don’t eat meat, and care about the quality of the origins of the food you consume, then you know St. Louis is a tough place to buy groceries.
I drove all the way out here for a doctor’s appointment, so I thought I was treating myself to a trip to WF. Meh, pretty much wrong on that one.
The selection here is okay but totally just geared towards soccer moms (why are they the only group known to care about what they eat besides hippies?). Fancy packaging, fancy mis-​leading marketing, and nosey employees (why do you care what I am doing here? You work at whole foods!). One guy actually said to us «you two don’t look like you’re from around here.» No, we’re from California you son-​of-​a methed out hill billy! Why do you have a Whole Foods in this wasteland? Open another one of those Schnucks places — at least they suck openly and hard, and don’t pretend to be healthy so they can over charge for real, artisanal, all natural boutique crap.
It’s hard to make me happy, but this place easily made me sad. We bought some fruits and vegetables, and the quality of these was all top-​notch. Best produce around, guaranteed. But the shoppers and this one employee really rubbed me wrong…
Here’s a question to Whole Foods: why don’t these stores exist within the city limits? Because you’re racist, Whole Foods. You don’t open stores in the city because you’re a racist business who thinks you can’t make any money in the city. I don’t like Local Harvest either, and we’re left with almost no options outside the paltry farmers markets and heavily American restaurant food in this town.
In CA, even the mainstream grocery stores have at least as good of a selection of organic, whole foods as these over-​priced boutiques. Did they set their prices assuming they’d be setting up a grocery store at the airport? That dumb employee/​hill billy said «you should go back to Cali» when I sort of complained after HE asked me «did you find everything okay?» Why is it that when people ask me that and I am honest they completely freak out? How about this: don’t ask.
Two things: 1) no one calls it «Cali» except you you drunken juggalo-​without-​makeup, and 2) you can do better than Whole Foods, and you should at least try…
We were here on what I guess people refer to as «Columbus Day» in Missouri and only in Missouri, and there were signs and a sale going on. So, don’t go to Whole Foods because they are celebrators of degenerate, genocidal gamblers who ruin everything.

The T&C location is just OK in my opinion. It’s just as nice as the Brentwood location, great fresh fish, bakery products and health care items but compared to Brentwood; totally lacking in the following areas:
1. Employees with killer cool personalities
2. Delicious array of gelato flavors
3. In-​house masseuse
4. Amazing deli food selections
5. Hot bar items
That’s all folks!

Love this place. We’ve been to quite a few cheeseology and wine classes there and have always had a great time. The free classes are great, but they’ve changed it from a class that you sign up for to now an open forum type of tasting. It’s still nice, but you don’t get as much knowledge and interaction as we used to. We were told that the same people always signed up for the classes so new people weren’t able to go, but maybe a better way to fix that would be to be on a wait list if you attended the previous class. Then if there was room closer to the date, you were in, otherwise someone new would be able to attend. They could also offer the informal classes as well, but I would suggest bringing the classes back. The people are always nice and I love learning about and trying new products. The café is a great area to eat and visit with friends.

This is a great place to get your local, pasture raised meat in the locavore’s desert of West County. However, you must read labels carefully, just because it’s sold at the Whole Foods, doesn’t mean it’s much different than something at the Schnucks across the street and you could be paying double the price. I will also add that just because it’s sold here, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. There are very few diabetic options for example. It took us a long time to find the single pint of ice cream they sold that had sugar in the single digits that I felt confident enough to bring home to my family.

Love whole foods! We are gluten, dairy and soy free and they have lots of items in not able to find else where. Their sushi isn’t very good in my opinion we like Dierbergs’ sushi better! Store is clean, organized and the staff is great!

My second favorite grocery store in the St. Louis area. (I like the Brentwood Whole Foods most.)
Floral dept. is très jolie. Lots for celebrations: treats, mints, chocolate, plants, flowers, gift bags, candles… Easy to fill a couple of big carts with niceties.
Spacious. Only 24 min (17 miles
via I-​70 W and MO-​141 S) from STL.
I like to get food for the plane: avocado rolls (eight tiny pieces) or kale salad from the food bar for myself and chips and candy for the kids. I do wish they’d get packets of wheat-​free soy sauce… and serve 16 teeny pieces of avocado roll.

Place is definitely expensive so know that before stopping in. It’s not someplace I can go on a regular basis. However, for special occasions, it’s a great treat!
There are so many organic and nonGMO options. The fruit and veggies are outstanding. They have hard to find options here as well as fresh and standard options. I got the tomato mix and they really tasted like candy!
The meat and seafood options here are excellent. I also like the bread and pastries.
There’s already made pizza, sushi, hot and cold salad bar, gelato, and made to order sandwiches. You can also order a pizza, to include whole wheat crust.
They have a variety of salsas and dips. Their guacamole with salsa is excellent. They even have one with garlic!
There is a wide assortment of teas and coffee.
The store is large, well laid out. The employees are very helpful and friendly.

Definitely holds true to the «whole paycheck» moniker. It’s pricey, but I would say in the same range as Dierbergs honestly. The in-​store samples are usually wonderful on the weekends and its very satisfying to know that all of the food, meat, etc. was all handled in the best way possible. It nice peace of mind to not feel a lot of guilt about how something was made. I think that is worth the extra food cost.
The store itself is huge! All kinds of fresh, house-​made foods abound there. Fresh bread, sorbet/​gelato, desserts, hot bar, salad bar, pizzas, etc. The seafood and meat section is very, very nice. Its all very delicious and the staff is among the friendliest and happiest staff I think that I have ever encountered in a store. Period.

Easy to see why so many call it «whole paycheck» when I average about $ 50 per bag. That said, we shop here regularly because their proteins are so much better than what we find elsewhere.
Their fish counter offers the largest variety in the area and it is all amazingly fresh. Their meat counter features the largest variety of freshly made sausages in the area. Ditto for their cheese counter and their bakery section.
There’s a trend here…
Staff is incredibly knowledgeable about their products and very helpful if you have a question or need advice on preparing something.

I bet you don’t think of wedding flowers when you think of Whole Foods, but that’s exactly where we got ours! As a bride on a budget and mostly DIY, Whole Foods was a great option that offers reasonably priced flowers (MUCH cheaper than a typical florist for weddings) and the flowers are sourced locally from ethical trade, earth friendly farming.
Amber M. took care of us from beginning to end, by showing us a variety of flowers, costs, showing us samples, and ordering. Everything turned out exactly like we hoped!
One downfall of using them vs. a traditional florist is that you may not be able to get the specific flower you want, but I showed her inspiration pictures and she kept the aesthetic I wanted with what they had available. It turned out beautifully as we wanted for our wedding, but also affordable.

Honestly, this is the biggest Whole Foods I have ever seen. I love this location! Plenty of parking & more stuff to ogle at. They have freshly squeezed juice. Totally awesome! The food court has more variety there than at the Brentwood location. Helpful staff.

Whole Foods is always a fun place to visit. I rarely shop at Whole Foods in the traditional sense but it’s great to pick up pre-​made food, a party side, tea, or booze.
It’s also the perfect place for entertaining or discovering new, random foods. They have every health trend here you could imagine… it’s a little terrifying.
I stopped by the other day to grab a bottle of wine. They have a helpful guide to consumers when searching for that perfect bottle. On each brand/​bottle they have a card that checks off various relevant qualities. I went for a «fruity» and «spicy» Malbec. These cards are super helpful for someone like me. It helps me make a more educated decisions rather than hoping the bottle I pick tastes like what I’m craving.
They also have a great selection of tea. I’m not a huge fan of bagged tea but they do carry one of my favorite tea brands. I can’t even remember the name off the top of my head but it’s legit.

We used to call this place «whole paycheck» when we lived in Chicago. It’s the same in STL, but they seem to have high quality fresh food so maybe you get what you pay for.
Had a lot of fun here because they were sampling their store made juices. They had a green one that was NASTY — if I ground up a hunk of my lawn (dirt included) in a juicer, I’m pretty sure that’s what it would taste like. Had a blast hanging around watching the faces people made while they sampled it, especially kids and older people. Some people actually liked the stuff!
The staff was friendly and helpful, and they didn’t even mind my grazing in the store and paying on the way out for what I had consumed.

I hate to do this but 3.5 stars out of five.
There are a lot of things to like about Whole Foods. They have an amazing area of prepared foods for you to take home with you along with a nice salad bar too. I am also really impressed with their fresh fish selection as well. In addition, they have a nice selection of wines as well.
It is nice to have Whole Foods close by for those special occassions but it is a bit expensive for everyday grocery shopping for a family of four. So, I will definately return if I need something special.

I’ve lived in Creve Coeur for almost three weeks, but for the last three weeks, I’ve been trekking back to the Brentwood WF. OMG MISTAKE! THE TOWN & COUNTRY LOCATION IS AMAZING!
The parking… just wow. The aisles… is this real life? I felt confused during my trip here, because I realized I actually was taking my time shopping. Typically at Brentwood WF, I am in a mad dash, trying to get in and out ASAP, without getting run down by another shopper. Wow. I am so weirded out by what a pleasant trip this was!
The store itself also seems bigger size-​wise and has a larger selection. I am so so glad I finally made it out here! Now that I live out in the county, I will ALWAYS go to this location over the Brentwood. The employees were all supper-​friendly and even gave me some dried mango samples when I asked for help finding it! yum :)
Like Patt C. said, I was also pleasantly surprised that I got a free reusable grocery bag for checking in. I also love how you save 10 cents per reusable grocery bag and have the option of using it or donating it. I just love WF in general.

Never been to a Whole Foods. I went specifically to get two wines my daughter wanted for her upcoming visit — a Don Simon tempranillo for $ 4 and some type of moscato. Well, I couldn’t find the tempranillo.
And along comes Tom the wine guy, who saved me. The tempranillo was in a special free-​standing display and not on the shelf. And it was, indeed, $ 4. So I got three. Probably the only bargain I got.
Okay, I get that you want to specially display this $ 4 wine, but you don’t need to take it completely off the shelf. I’m not one to investigate special displays or end-​caps. I work the aisles and the shelves.
So, while he was there, and since I know so little about wine, I asked for a recommendation on a moscato. Tom was very helpful in recommending the Presto moscato, at $ 12. And I got three.
I also got three Presto prosecco at $ 12/​bottle, and a Clean Slate Riesling for $ 10/​bottle — just one.
If you buy 6+ bottles of wine, you get a 10% discount. Tom helped me put all the wine in recyclable bags (each with six spaces for wine bottles) that were right there. I didn’t see them. Who knew? I’m usually clueless. But I’ll use these bags again.
This was clearly a wine trip, although I got a cantaloupe for $ 2.50 and a bag of red grapes for $ 9.66 ($ 3.99/pound).
I didn’t investigate too much in the store. It was verging into the evening, and my mission was accomplished. It’s a nice, clean store; and the aisles are well-​labeled.
Even just walking past the health & beauty section, my sensitive sneeze-​trigger was activated by all the smells. Wowee, is that section stinky!
I did get a tote bag when I checked in on Unilocal.That was a nice surprise.
And I got a 30-​cent bag refund, thanks to Carrie the very friendly cashier, who invited me to make a comment on Tom’s helpfulness, which I did and posted it on the bulletin board.

My usual Whole Foods is the Brentwood location, but recently I was out in Town & Country and decided to check this one out for lunch. I’m a huge fan of the WF hot food bar because you can get something quick (well, kind of) and really healthy.
The first thing I noticed about this location was that the parking is SO much better & easier than the Brentwood location. The spaces are spread apart a little more and you aren’t battling with Target shoppers which makes a huge difference. When I walked inside, I was even more surprised and shocked. This place is like the Walmart Supercenter of Whole Foods. It’s bigger, brighter, has more products, and overall kicks major ass. And the weirdest thing happened, too… a few minutes into my visit, I realized I was breathing normally! In the Brentwood location I’m usually dodging people left & right and stressing myself out. This place is much more peaceful.
The hot food bar had great choices and I’m not sure if they’re different from Brentwood, but everything looked new to me. They even had personal veggie pot pies! I ended up with a weird combination of Aztec chicken, pulled pork, and roasted vegetables. I was in and out within five minutes — amazing. I went back a few days later to shop, and loved their selection of Health Starts Here products.
Yeah it’s a little far from where I live but I’m going to keep making the drive. It’s worth it!

I love this Whole Foods. It is totally head and shoulders above the Brentwood location. It’s a Tiffany’s diamond compared to Brentwood’s Jared’s diamond. They both sparkle, but Town & Country give you more bang for your buck.
At times when I shop here, I am overwhelmed. I catch myself going from side to side and back-​n-​forth. Finding treasures and tantalizing treats every aisle. Love the house brand 365, quality product at a reasonable price.
The selection and variety seems to be larger then those offered on Brentwood. The bright lighting and wider aisles makes for a more enjoyable shopping experience.
The prepared foods section make me want to pull up a chair and a TV Tray and graze the afternoon away. Of course I’d have to have one of the chilled bottles of wine or beer to accompany all the fine foods.
Another thing that makes this location better is the staff. The employees that I have encountered have no attitude problems. They’re friendly, helpful and full of suggestions. Some of the attitude drenched employees of Brentwood should come out here and observe what good customer service actually is.
I live in the city, and I will make the extra drive for this store.
