This place is AMAZING. Its huge! Has a fresh deli and bakery. Tons of produce, jams, butters, health foods. I like that it has a lot of organic products. Theres even samples of food that you can try before you buy. But it doesn’t only have food, there’s home décor, plates, cups, etc. You can buy trees, plants, flowers. Its everything that I want in one building. I will be going weekly!

The best place for fresh fruits and vegetables. They also offer a large selection of flowers, shrubs, trees and garden supplies. Thanks Unilocal… I never would have known this place existed if not for you.

Nice store but I ordered a large roast beef sandwich… it was ten dollars and worth two… thick, tough roast beef… and not much of it.

Love this place. The fresh produce is reasonably priced and tasty. The nursery is well stocked, and the environment is just nice to be in.

Whenever I am in this area I make my way to Willey’s. Their organic section is limited but always of great quality as is the rest of their abundant conventional produce selection. They also have a large deli with prepared and ‘grab n go’ items like homemade soups, salads, dips etc. They have a pretty decent homemade baked goods section too. There is a large candy area, lots of good teas and a wall of spreads and condiments that are either most local or homemade with some imports. If you go down the ramp from the grocery area you can shop for candles and country accessories and in the spring and summer they have a beautiful outdoor plant and landscaping shop. Parking is a plenty. Staff is always friendly.

I’ve been a lifelong Willey’s customer, and I hope I always will be. They are my go-to place for fresh, local, organic, and natural items. They aren’t the cheapest, but you know you’re getting fresh produce(not always local, but when local produce is in season, it’s fabulous there) and they have sooooo many unique items. You really need a good hour or more to browse the whole place. They have more jams, jellies, sauces, honey, preserves, you name it, shelves and shelves of it, in every flavor you can imagine. They have an entire grocery section full of organic, natural, and hard-to-find items as well. They have a full deli, a baked goods section, a huge selection of old-fashioned sodas, all kinds of ciders, a gigantic candy section with things you won’t find anywhere else. A huge selection of prepackaged nuts, grains, granolas, dried fruits. I could go on and on. And that’s just the food section! Step into the home décor section for a whole array of candles, baskets, vases, everything you can imagine, and again, so many unique, fun items you just will not see anywhere else(where do they get this stuff??). Outside is their huge garden area, again, everything you can imagine, flowers, herbs, trees, gardening items, bird feeders, fountains. Willey’s is truly a local icon where families can spend an entire Sunday afternoon, tasting free samples of things like fresh salsa, fresh cut fruit, and honey-peanut butter, picking up fresh produce for dinner, treating yourself to some candy or an old-fashioned glass-bottle of root beer, and browsing through their home décor and garden sections at a leisurely pace. Keep it up, Willey’s!

I learned quickly when I moved to Delaware, that you don’t buy your produce at the grocery store. You buy it at a farm stand. Calling Willey’s a farm stand is not quite right – this is a huge establishment on Route 13 between Townsend and Odessa. They have an enormous produce section, with some local produce as available but most of what you will see is brought in from California or Florida. But the quality and selection are fantastic. There is a sizable organic section as well, though not hugely enormous. Also, since there are few natural food stores in Delaware(the Newark co-op being really your only other good choice) there is a large section, maybe six aisles, of natural foods including gluten free foods and some macrobiotic staples, a natural food refrigerated section and a large selection of dry grains and beans and nuts. Beware, the turnover on the brown rice is not as high as some places, so you have to check if the rice is rancid. This is a problem with lower turnover and brown rice; the oils on the rice bran are very liable to turn rancid. The nuts are great – almonds, brazils, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts. There is also a cold-cut and cheese area and Amish-style baked goods section. Wednesdays offer a 10 percent discount to sixty-plus seniors(woohoo!) In the lower part of the store, there is a wonderful country-style decorator shop, a candy shop and outside you have a nursery with plants and garden accessories. The people in the nursery will help you select plants that are right for your garden. The inside garden-decorator shop stocks Aerogrow kits, so if you have one of those inside hydroponic herb growers, you can pick up kits locally instead of mail ordering them.

Another spectacular customer service experience — last year, I meant to get a fig tree, and I waited too long til they were sold out for the year. I mentioned that on Twitter around mid-summer, and asked whoever runs their Twitter account to let me know when they had more in if they thought of it. Sure enough, spring rolled around, and I got a message on Twitter saying they had them in again. I went and picked up two this afternoon. They were really busy, but the place was crawling with employees, so I browsed through quickly and when I didn’t see them, I told the next employee who spoke to me what I was looking for. He got on the radio, found out where they were(over behind the hut, next to the grapes), and walked me over there, then got me a cart to put them on.

The produce that you find grocery stores is less than the best quality and overpriced. I want fresh produce at a reasonable price, good quality and a nice selection. I was ecstatic when I discovered Willey Farms! It is everything I dreamed of in a produce store and more. There was such a nice selection that I really had a hard time trying to figure out what I was going to buy! They also have a nice selection of organic goods! In addition to produce they also have a fabulous deli. The deli not only sells subs but. they also have hot meals on their stream table and salads. The last time I went they had some lovely looking chicken pot pies. If I had not already had my heart set on a fabulous Italian sub the chicken pot pie would have been my choice. Willey’s also has a really nice greenhouse & the most beautiful selections of home décor in the area! Their selection of Yankee Candles is very impressive! It’s a great place to find that unique gift for someone special. If you go to Willey Farms make sure you take your time & browse through the whole store. It will take you a while to see everything but, it will be time well spent. I love Willey Farms & you will too!
