The owner was very nice; thanked us for coming. They have Vietnamese crêpe(!) which was tasty, bun(rice noodle) w/best beef that we’ve had in a while, and a special soup available on weekends only.(Banh mi too.) Would come back on our next time through!

Don’t waste your time or money ! Look Vietnam but it own by the Chinese staff’s. I order the hot and sour noodle soup with chicken and shrimp. It not hot or sour but pineapple juice in the soup. My wife order the phở something and her soup taste like water plus MSG!

Average authentic Vietnamese food. We really wanted phở so we order two bowls of them. I ordered the spicy one with all the vegetables and shrimp in it. It didn’t taste spicy at all and I didn’t expect broccoli and sliced tomato in it. Honestly, I have had better but it’s alright if you are craving Vietnamese food and if you are close by. They have pretty good spring rolls and the wings are great but for the prices i pay for I would expect to have a larger serving.

This place has a nice atmosphere and attentive staff. The pork spring roll appetizer was fine, not greasy. But my phở with brisket contained only about 5 small, paper-thin slices of meat in it. It tasted good, but that flagrant kind of stinginess really bugs me. Also, my daughter’s pan-fried noodles with shrimp and vegetables was so drowned in sauce that we needed to mop off the edge of the plate with a napkin multiple times just to keep it from creeping up past the rim and onto her lap. The sauce was also very cornstarchy, flavorless and the majority of the vegetables were not broccoli or snow peas but CELERY. Yuck! I won’t be returning.

It’s great to have a Phở place next to my house. It’s not super amazing like locations in the city or Fort Lee but nice for me to pick up. My kids adore Phở and want it almost once a week so again the location is great. We have not had any issues with the food. The Phở is tasty. The staff is friendly. The only issues I have is that I usually order the same items every time and depending on who takes my order the price changes. Its nice they give me a modified order for the kids which is just Small Broth and Noodles(they should just add it to the menu) but still they charge/over charge me allot just for that. I have been looking for another location I can get Phở for my kids, because you would think since I come in so often and am a local they would work with me. Maybe I need to just learn and make it at home from now on!

The Phở was just ok. I ordered two combination phở for the table and they only came with the eyeround and marinated beef for both bowls. But on the Unilocal picture, the combination phở had brisket, eye-round, beef, and meatball. So I was thinking ok, maybe that was an old picture. Another table sat down and asked about what’s in the combo phở, the waitress said, eyeround, brisket, beef, and meatball! SHOCKING! I asked her how come I didn’t get all that in the ones I ordered? And her answer was, you have to ask for them when you place the order. What a rip off! That like, if I don’t ask to get the full order, then you will only give me half? And charge me for the full order??? Keep your money and go elsewhere.

On a wet, windy and chilly evening in suburban Joysee — hot soup and byo wine felt right. I made an instinctive move towards Wasabi — Riesling in hand — craving dashi with soba — and at the last minute decided to go phở instead. Should have stuck with my instincts. The small menu at this Vietnamese soup and sandwich joint makes ordering easy — you can have noodles with your soup or soup with your noodles — and a pork sandwich(or wings) besides, if you must. We stuck with rice noodles. The phở broth here is not as rich as the best I’ve had, plenty of broth but they sure do skimp on the portions of everything else. I ordered extra noodles(at $ 5) which extended the soup into a meal. Their stir fry is not as greasy as others we’ve tried, but our pork version with rice noodles(#31) was relatively flavorless — requiring plenty of adjustment with red pepper and soy based condiments on the table. The best I can say about the starters is that they were serviceable. Summer shrimp rolls with peanut sauce were packed with fresh shiso leaf imparting a pleasant basil-like flavor and crisp texture — but the shrimp itself was tasteless and limp — as if frozen and thawed once too many times. The peanut sauce lacked depth of flavor — this needed more acidity and heat to balance the rich/sweet peanut butter and complement the relative blandness of the rolls. The green papaya salad with pork was better, good acidity from the lime, savory from fish sauce, and plenty of textural interest from the shredded veggies and peanuts. We drank our wine from the offered brandy glasses(I wish we had brought some cognac) and enjoyed our alone time listening to 1960’s Parisian café music(the place was empty on a Wednesday night). Note to self: Next time, no need to drive all this way for a bowl of soup, and if we do, bring brandy.

My bodyguards and I, that’s what I call my sons because they’re at least a foot taller than me; plus they love their mama immensely. We were driving from Wayne, NJ and we were deliriously hungry! After driving for what seemed like forever; and we were The Griswolds driving across country heading to Wollyworld it was« Unilocal to the rescue!» We DONOT do box restaurants. No offense to those that love their Olive Garden because we all know OG has thee best Italian food in America …#sarcasm We never tried Vietnamese food before and we’re always up for getting our Anthony Bourdain on. We walked into Phở picked our table and patiently waited for our menus. The gentleman that seemed to be the owner helped us pick our yummy meal. The only negative would be it wasn’t enough food for us, especially for my young men. So we ended up ordering more food. So to recap… The food was very good, the staff accommodating but not enough yummies for my BIG babies. Well that’s my story I hope it helped…:-)

I’m so glad I discovered this place a year ago when I had an intense craving for phở and other Vietnamese foods and didn’t want to drive all the way down to Bin Duong in Belleville or Phở Saigon in Parsippany. I love the phở, bun thang soup, and the rice noodles with grilled pork or spring rolls on top. The owners are also very nice and friendly. I just wish they have more dessert offerings, though, but it’s great overall. Keep it up!

Overall food quality is good and people are friendly. This place deserves praise on that part. But I was so disgusted by 1 thing and made me never want go back there again. I saw the server(a gentleman that seemed like the owner) cleaning up the table next to me after the people have left. He ‘VISUALLY’ inspected, separated and kept unused utensils /plates /napkins aside, took back and added back to his supply stock without properly cleansing or discarding them. There was a spoon that a little kid was playing with which had no sign of usage, and it’s back in his clean spoon bin. Can you imagine eating with a spoon that was once(or more) on someone else’s dinner table/a toy? I couldn’t, and think it involves a big hygiene issue. I wonder what they are trying to save this way, but they have lost a customer for sure doing so.

I was so excited to come here, especially after seeing it had such great reviews. I had high hopes that I had finally found my dream phở place: a tasty place just a few minutes down the road! Unfortunately, I was disappointed. My boyfriend and I were both excited to come here, especially hangry me. It had been 10 hours since I had eaten anything and I was in need of food. While my hunger was quenched, I was left unsatisfied because everything was lacking flavor. We had the grilled lemongrass chicken wings, pork bahn mi(pork Vietnamese sandwich), and phở. The best dish was the chicken wings and the worst being the phở. The phở had the least flavor of all the dishes. I added so much hot sauce and hoisin sauce to give the broth any flavor because without it, the broth tasted like hot beef water… water with a slight smack of beef(any Arrested Development fans out there?). I left sad and disappointed. Maybe I came on an off day? Regardless, I most likely wouldn’t come here again.

Pretty good food. Spring roll is excellent. Phở is pretty good but portion is too small for the price. The Vietnamese sandwich is awesome. Fried rice is fine but a little over priced. We are happy with our meals. Just hope they can review pricing and portioning.

We began with the Summer Roll(shrimp) which were a slightly below average version. I saw shrimp but in a blind taste test would never have detected their presence in the dish. Despite the odd butchering of the Fish Sauce Fried Chicken Wings this was the best dish by far. Here is how the Beef Phở is listed on their current menu. 20. Beef Phở Fresh Rice Noodle Served in Beef Broth. Use with fresh chopped onion, scallions, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts and limes Choices: A — Eyeround B — Brisket C — Flank D — Beef Ball E — Combination F — Veggies If YOU ordered«E — Combination» what would you expect to get? I expected to get a combination of Eyeround, Brisket, Flank, and Beef Ball. Instead I got just one type of beef. Huh? The explanation given to me by the manager was that it was a combination of one type of beef but part of it was cooked in the soup and the other was raw and then cooked and added to soup at the end. I could not discern between the two. The broth in the Phở is under seasoned. The addition of the lime, basil and cilantro were not enough to get me to like this dish. Wife got the Vietnamese Crepes(shrimp) and loved it. Once again they use the word«combination» so beware!

Went there around 9:30pm and it was still packed! Ordered two phos noodle bowls, and it came out pretty fast! The noodles were just what I was looking for on a cold night! Perfect broth, and the meat is just right! I would say this place is pretty authentic! The owners and employees, they are all viet!

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place out and it was a nice«mom and pop» type of restaurant. Listen, first and foremost, don’t expect a speedy service. If you have plans for a movie or something within an hour of arriving there, you may miss it. Also, don’t expect a traditional American restaurant experience either. It seems like the entire staff consists of a cook and the owner, the server(or at least it was when we went). So don’t go thinking you’re at a Michelin star restaurant where you’ll get appetizers within 6 minutes and entrees within 15. It’s a small business with a family running it however they can. With that in mind, if you do go and I recommend you do, you’ll get to try some good authentic Vietnamese food. It may be different than some Vietnamese food you may have had before because from my experience a lot of Viet restaurants tend to cook according to the American palate. This place, not so much. Having said all that, the food is good. The broth for Phở is delicious; savory and light. The Com Thit Nuong(Grilled Meat Rice Dish) was equally good, the pork was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. It was a nice balance between sweet and savory. We ended the meal with a fried banana and ice cream dessert(photo available). The banana was wrapped in egg roll paper and lightly fried, served with your choice of ice cream(we had vanilla and coconut) and a chocolate drizzle. It was a nice end to a good meal. All in all, try this place. Take some time and take a date out to this restaurant and spend time having a nice conversation while waiting for good food to arrive. In a lot of way, this reminds me of the way dining used to be; a little slow at times but more intimate. I’m definitely going to go back for more Phở-nomenal food.(Sorry, I couldn’t help it)

The service is extremely friendly and will do everything to make you feel welcome. The food is very authentic and tasty. We have been here already three times and have tried pretty much most of the dishes. The phở is very good, the broth is light and full of flavor. The Vietnamese sandwich was also very delicious on fresh french baguette. We also tried the chicken wings, plain and with the fish sauce. Love the one with fish sauce adding a salty flavor that us way better than the plain. We also tried the sugar cane wrapped shrimp which was also very good. The only reason I didn’t give this restaurant 5 stars is because they didn’t serve the traditional pork chop dish with crab cake. We will visit often as we just enjoy talking with the owner which took photos of the food that are hanging on the walls. Very talented, friendly and successful.

One of the newly opened Vietnamese places. It seems very small from the outside but they have 8 tables for 4, and 5 tables for 2. Looks more spacey inside. We ordered fish sauce chicken wings, spring rolls, meatball phở and caramelized shrimp cooked in clay pot. Our meal was delicious. Phở was a little bit disappointing for our taste but rest of our meal that we ordered were all satisfying. Our problem was service. When we visited only 2 tables were occupied with one server. She didn’t give us any water until we asked after we finished appetizer. She didn’t say sorry, just left water on our table. When our main meal was served, we were the only one there. Server was just standing in the counter. Restaurant was quiet. Our table was packed with empty plates(appetizer plates, sharing dishes etc). We had to clean and pile up the dishes on the side to have our main meal. Our server was just looking at us. I don’t know if she knows what service supposed to be. She seemed very young and She just didn’t seem interested to be working. Restaurant wasn’t busy, phone wasn’t ringing. It was just quiet restaurant. But still service was bad. Terrible service isn’t helpful for the business even though they serve tasty food.

I’ve only ate Vietnamese food once before and this time I confirmed that I absolutely love it! This place was very cute, clean & comfy, our waitress was so nice especially since we came in 30 minutes before closing, they were very helpful with helping us pick what to eat and explaining what each and everything was even though it pretty much says it on the menu. The food was freshly made and extremely good. They have two bathrooms one for men and women. Women’s bathroom very clean and had some cute decorations. This restaurant also has a parking lot right in front which is great you don’t have to worry about parking. They also take credit cards but it’s $ 20 minimum. Will definitely come back here soon !

I was skeptical when I heard a Vietnamese spot was opening in Washington Township. The restaurant is small and casual, and the service was very friendly and easy to communicate with. But I was still skeptical when I saw the price for their special phở. Turns out, their special phở actually has a pork broth base and other ingredients. I stuck with my usual beef combo phở, which was of average price. The combo came with brisket, eye round, tendon, and beef balls. All meats were cooked correctly, and the broth was rich and flavorful. I could have done without the beef balls though. They were not very good. 3.5 stars overall, I’ll round up to 4 since the service was good and they are one of the few options for phở in the area.
