The canteen for Baltimore County Courthouse employees. Pay your parking tickets, transfer the deed for your house, pay business taxes then go to the basement for eats. I actually paid a dang speed camera ticket but smelled a curiously yummy smell wafting through the hallways. I asked the security dudes and they told me about Patty Cakes in the basement. The American food– chicken finges, hamburgers, etc look like frozen cafeteria grade fair. Not very appetizing at all. However, they let the kitchen staff play around and cook fresh random goodies daily too. The jerk chicken looked really interesting so I got it with fries. All spice and sugar on the drumsticks was nice. Not heavily sauced as a true Jamaican joint but still good enough. Suitable for gringo paperpushers. It came with a small drink for $ 9. Not cheap but if you have jury duty or business at the courthouse, it’s worth a try for lunch.
