(NOTE: There are a total of 3 reviews on Sheppard Pratt. I had not read the other 2 before writing mine. Struck me as odd that one review focused entirely on the bucolic setting of Sheppard Pratt, but had nothing to say whatsoever about the experience of being hospitalized there. Over 200 «likes» that one received. Sounds to me like an advertisement, instead of a review. Just saying.) Go there and come out stark raving mad? Hm. Tough choice. Sheppard Pratt Asylum Is designed as a Critical CARE Psychiatric Stabilization facility for those who struggle with medical conditions such as Bipolar Disorder(like myself) or any other psychiatric«diagnosis.» It has an impressive and illustrious history as an innovative facility when it was first conceived and built in the mid-19th century — a refuge, with its concentration on humane treatment. However, reputation, to be sustained, must demonstrate consistency of those values and principles, rather than regression from them. Undoubtedly, Sheppard and Pratt are totally turning in their graves.

Fucking bullshit! This is the worst mental hospital I’ve ever been to! The staff were so disrespectful and said«Fuck you motherfucker!» to me?! I nearly kicked his ass off, but I knew I couldn’t because it’s a hospital. The patients there were abused by them and the nurse didn’t do shit about it because she’s fucking stupid. No one there understands my situation. So, I cried about it and called my mother. My ex-best friend should’ve been here, not me. I was there for the slightest reason. Sorry for my vulgar language, but the staff was so rude and disrespectful. I’m never going back here again.

I’ve only been here twice, both times for conferences(not treatment). The campus is pretty, easy to get to. There are only two areas where you can park, make sure you are aware of this, I understand they are strict about that. The conference area is nice. There is free wifi, the passwords are on a dry-erase board inside the AV booth at the back of the auditorium…
