Surprise Shop

Found this little shop totally by accident while looking for a parking place on a rather boring errand. To liven up the boring errands I decided to do a little thrifting. This place is cute and I can see how it would be hit or miss but it definitely makes it onto my regular rounds.
I scored with a cute pair of Charles David flats for $ 8 and a no name but adorable paisley dress for $ 10. My real bargain was a black jacket from Nine West with jet detailing around the collar that I desired about two years ago for $ 14 way down from the original cost. The nicest surprise was the red velvet Talbots dress that was marked $ 14 but when I brought up the date stamped on the back had passed it was marked down to $ 7.
The only reasons I give this place 4 instead of 5 is the cash and check only policy as well as the selection being limited. The volunteers were lovely and I will definitely keep coming back to check out the selection.

The Surprise Shop is a cute little charity shop in a lovely old house. Whenever I’m walking around town and have some spare time, it’s fun to go in and poke around. The volunteers who work the front desk have always been very kind.
I’ve found many nice home products and kitchenware items — a silicone madeleine pan, an adorable round tablecloth, fabric yardage for sewing. They have an entire floor of clothing, but I haven’t had much luck with it; their plus-​size selection is limited and skews a little older than my taste (I’m in my late 20s).
The hours are pretty limited. If I didn’t work nearby and walk past the shop on my errands into town, I’d probably never make it in. All in all, a sweet little Towson gem.

This shop is very cute. Located in an older house and benefits the church next door. When I entered I was welcomed warmly and offered a quick over view of what was where by some nice ladies at the front. This store has house wares, books, and clothing. No large furniture, though. There is a very large selection of clothing, with a «brand names» room on the upper floor. Overall I really liked shopping around this store, but I did not find anything worth taking home, so I rated it A-​OK. I will try to get back and see what they have in the future.
