The Shops at Kenilworth

Train garden is definitely a sight to see. My twins were amazed at the sights and sounds. Especially my son, who loves trains. Only downside is some of the buttons weren’t working, which was disappointing because we went on the first day! I think there’s enough to keep a child occupied.

A mall of specialty stores. It’s not Towson Town Center. It’s not Mall of America. It’s a quaint little place with an amazing train garden I saw every Christmas growing up. Stebbins is there which is great, and a Learning How for teachers, plus About Faces the spa, and some shoe stores. I like the Ritz Camera there better than the one in Towson Town Center
Mostly a place to grab pizza as Italian Gardens is fantastic and then do a few errands. I’ve never seen another mall really like it.

It’s hard for me to hate this place. I met my boyfriend here nearly a decade ago. It was love at first sight (for me not for him).
I still come here because they have a pretty good About Faces, and Stebbins. I don’t pay much attention to the other stores, but they do have stores in the mall. They also have a nice toy train display during Christmas.

So I had to get my brakes replaced and my tires rotated at the dealership next door and had approximately 3.5 hours to kill. I was getting tired of watching The Out of Towners on TV and both computers were being occupied. So I wandered on over here.
I honestly didn’t expect much because it’s not really big and unattractive. The only stores I knew for sure that were in there were an Ace Hardware and Lax World because of 2 large signs on the outside.
It’s really small on the inside but has 2 levels with a fountain being constructed in the middle. There are several women’s clothing, the most notable being South Moon Under. There’s also a lingerie store, a bead store and a place called Azura clothing that had some cute clothes. Other businesses included a day spa, a Ritz Camera, a women’s sports store, an environmentally friendly housewares store, Ten Thousand Villages and a shoe shop. The lower level also had an ice cream shop, an italian restaurant called Italian Gardens and the Burger Bistro. The 3 restaurants seemed to be pretty popular with people eating in the middle of the ‘mall’. There was also a place called Stebbins which looks to be a larger scale Michael’s because I think they sold some furniture as well.
Overall, it was better than I expected, but still not that exciting. It seems as if they’re trying to spruce it up with the fountain, but work definitely needs to be done to the outside as well. At least it helped me kill some time while my car was getting fixed.
