R & S Transmissions and General Auto Repair

Just an update, after R & S losing this case in San Joaquin Court, they ignored all requests to pay this debt they owe. I had to use a sheriff to collect a small portion of this judgment, but to this day Mario and R & S Transmission has still not paid the majority of this debt they still owe.

So, I bought my car on Craigslist in the winter (lesson learned) and never tested the A/​C. I later found out it was in an accident that caused the headlight to pinch and break my A/​C line. It was frustrating to find out all the «secrets» the seller hid from me, but I didn’t buy a newer car to not have A/C.I eventually fixed the line on my own and needed the refrigerant filled. Every other place quoted me $ 60 – 80 to fill a pound in the system. This place only charged $ 16.99! Crazy price difference, honest, and efficient. Thank you for making this issue a little easier to deal with!

This is only my second time writing a review, but i had to with how amazing the customer service was! My car broke down on the way to LA for the weekend. I called them at 445 and told them we’d be there in the tow truck in 30 minutes and they stayed open late to take my car. They also knew I needed my car the first thing Monday morning for work so they made sure to make it a priority over the weekend. They also opened early Monday morning to return my car so i could make the 2 hour drive and only be mildly late for work.
On top of that, the part they ordered me from their supplier ended up being bad, but I didn’t find out until I had driven back home. Living 90 miles away, it world be inconvenient for me to get my car back to them to replace the part. Instead, they had me take it to my local guy and paid for everything to be replaced in full. They’re so thoughtful and honest.

These people were so helpful and so nice in helping me figure out if I needed a new battery or a new alternator. They tested my battery for free and determined I needed only a new battery. They had a battery brought over in 10 minutes, put it in for free & only charged me what the battery cost. What more could you ask for!!! LOVE this shop!

This shop was recommended by a friend of mine. Although all the people who work there are friendly they did not do right by me. I took a Volkswagon Passat there and they clearly are not qualified to work on this type of car. They had my car on 5 separate times for a total of 2 ½ months and still did not repair my car. I paid over $ 2,700. In the end, I had to take it to another shop to repair the mistakes they made and fix what they were unable to. This was a frustrating experience. I also filed a complaint with the «Better Business Bureau» and the «Bureau of Automotive Repair». I would think twice before you take your car to this shop.

I have had my jeep serviced here for multiple issues. One major headache was the motor fans electrical switch relay shorting out every 6 mos at $ 500 a pop. M&M auto repair tried 2x on my dime and a 3^rd time on their dime and when the switch went out on the 4^th time R&S fixed it and its been 2yrs without issue. He does all my work when it comes to my jeep.

These guys were GREAT! I came in today with no appointment. My car had been making this strange squeaking noise when I would brake for a LONG time and even the place I had gone to get the brakes done originally, told me there was nothing wrong. I was getting tired of everywhere I went being told nothing was wrong and that my brakes were good, so I went to R & S today and they hooked me up! They took it for a drive and about 40 minutes later the mechanic, I think his name was Mario, had me come out and get in the car and no more squeaky noise!!! On top of all that he didn’t charge me!!!
I am a SUPER satisfied customer!

I found R&S Transmissions when I called another shop. My wife’s PT Cruiser needed an oil change and her car’s brakes were making squeaky noises. Turns out that the first shop only works on imported cars but they strongly recommended R & S Transmissions.
«A transmission shop for an oil change & brake check?» I asked. Sure, they replied, «R & S Transmissions can do whatever you need.» It turns out the R & S Transmissions is a general service auto shop.
When I called R & S Transmissions, Mario, the shop mechanic said to bring the car right down. He performed an oil change and brake check while I waited for $ 21, not including tax & disposal fees. A very good price.
In checking the brakes he determined that the PT Cruiser had a slightly warped front brake disk. The warping would cause a little whining when the brakes were applied but wouldn’t affect brake function. If we could live with the noise a brake job wasn’t necessary.
The mechanic was accomodating and willing to handle our job on no notice. He completed the inspection and oil change in about half an hour. His price was fair. And, he was able to identify and honestly diagnose a problem without trying to sell us work that we didn’t really need.
I WILL be back!
R & S Transmissions is easy to miss. It’s located in a small industrial complex on MacArthur Drive, south of 11^th Street and north of Shulte.
