I had the opportunity to talk at length with this artist at the Reston Art Festival where he had several of his oil pastels on canvas displayed. His background in printmaking after studies in the fine arts prepared him for a career as an artist. He travels to art shows several times a year which gives people all over the country the opportunity to collect his work. I found his paintings very soothing as they are done in soft focus with muted colors. His subjects are water scenes often capturing surface reflection or the pebbles that lie beneath. There is definitely an impressionistic quality conveyed in these beautiful, but as you’d expect, pricey pieces.
