This was the first time I’ve stayed in a Motel 6, and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a cheap outside walk-up, but was glad to find that all of the rooms are inside and that they have an elevator. The rooms are definitely sparse: no hair dryer, clock or coffee maker(although they do offer free coffee downstairs by the vending machines from 6−10am.) Be aware that there are no real dressers, either although that doesn’t bother me because I rarely unpack when I travel. There is no view to speak of; you either get to overlook the parking lot or the hotels next door. I kind of liked the fake wood floor instead of the usual carpet. Even though it was obviously cheap, it made the room look better. The pool is very small, so not worth it if you actually want to swim, but just to relax or for kids to play in, it’s fine. The hot tub was a bit too hot(and I also stayed in it for too long), but it is a very nice thing to have in a hotel. The ladder is a little rickety, though. My only real complaint was that the internet sucks. It kept going off, so I called down to the desk. The attendant said that if too many people try to get on, it kicks some people off. He said he’d reset the router, but it didn’t help. That is not what I want when I’m on vacation & looking for things to do; a large part of why I choose the hotels I do is the free wifi. And, on top of their low price, they also offer AARP discounts. Finally, something to use it for! If I come back to the Traverse City area, I would consider staying here again.

Horrible. Scary. Gross. Keep looking for a different hotel in Traverse City. The alleged«owner/manager» yelled at me, and degraded me. Someone else also made reference to him yelling at them in their review. They also call him the owner/manager, because there’s no one else he lets you speak to. My guess is that there is an owner that would not accept that behavior. If he is the owner, then his business will surely fail as he has no idea how to treat customers. You want a hotel that is going to be happy to have you and you certainly don’t want to be yelled at on your trip away from home. I urge you to keep looking! Don’t stay here.

Absolutely worst motel ever. I woke up with bites all over my body. i found a bed bug on my sheets so I scooped it in a cup and took it to the front desk to complain, the owner accused me of bringing the bed bug there then when I asked for my money back he told me to get the fu** out and to never let him see my face again. Worst experience ever with a business and the most horrible management

Actually this is probably the best Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed. It is wood floor, so it doesn’t have the nasty smell which a lot places do. Free Wifi. Clean restroom. Microwave and fridge in the room. I also used their laundry room, it was good. Overall, My friend and I enjoyed our stay. The room is clean and the staff is friendly. I would recommend to stay here if you are taking a vacation to Traverse City. Good location

This place isn’t anything I would recommend for anyone to stay at! The pool was really nasty, the heat-air was so dirty we came home with sinus infections! The floors in the rooms are«wood» and although we took our shoes off upon coming in our socks were wet from the snow melting and running all over the floor.

We paid about $ 84 for an one night stay for a party of 4. That is a pretty good deal. Just some tips to prepare for your stay. They only offer two bars of soap. No lotion, shampoo, or conditioner. Even though there were 4 guests they only had two big shower towels in the bathroom. We called to get more but they made us go to the front desk and only gave us two. I know we aren’t paying that much but at least offer 4 towels for 4 guests. There is also no hair dryer. The walls are extremely thin. We can hear the loud obnoxious guests in the hallway and also they weird laughter of the guests on the other side of the wall. Plenty of parking. Close to downtown Traverse City. There is a pool.
